May 20, 20251 yr Author I have a PSA for any wine drinkers. We are replacing the words "boxed wine" with something much classier. From now on the correct term is "Cardboardeaux" You're welcome

The #1 song the day I was born was "Don't be Cruel by Elvis and Eisenhower was the president LOL (Yikes)You peaked my interest, so I went to https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billboard_year-end_top_singles_of_1947 It was both eye opening and disheartening. If @cunninghamtheman ever wants to hold anything over me, that batch of songs is a good place to start. The first 45 I ever bought was The Locomotion by Little Eva.
May 20, 20251 yr From Roob’s ObservationsTanner McKee is the only quarterback in NFL history to complete at least 65 percent of his passes with two TD passes and no interceptions in each of his first two career games. Donovan McNabb had two such performances in his first 63 career games, Randall Cunningham two in his first 82 games and Carson Wentz two in his first 30 games. Jalen Hurts did it in 18 games.

Shouldn’t be any hating…but should really just have been expected…Moore didn’t have everything ironed out just yet. You know…it actually took some games to test things out and evaluate. Then work on making the proper adjustments. Really was a work in progress the whole season. Which should have always been the expectation.

The responsibility for understanding and managing risk should fall on Moore’s shoulders.Just how much did we need to manage risk? I preferred to just ‘go for it’ accelerating the learning curve in the new O. Take some lumps…but grow and progress. Get far enough so things can be tweaked and adapted. Push far enough to get towards mastering as much as possible. I was more in the camp of push towards opening things up and scoring.

I don't.... but look at the success. You aren't winning football because you are fooling people. You win because of talent, execution and focus. We have the most difficult piece of the puzzle I place....the guy that keeps it all together. What is missing in SF. Look at how things end for them every year. He can't make up for those head coaching deficiencies by pulling out any genius Xs and Os. Don't work that way.A BS slippery field away from winning 2 SBs with guys like Steichen and Moore.Eventually I believe even the hardest of stubborn heads will realize....Brian Johnson is the outlier.Hurts is the piece that keeps it all together…agree. Not so sure Purdy is that so much. But yeah…Niners really struggled to find a decent QB.

I sang Rock around the clock(Bill Haley) and the bass vocals on Blue Moon lol. It was a HS dance first time. expected 2-- kids, but 700 showed up from all over the city. We pulled up in my '57 chevy convertible, Supposed to be a 3 hour job but we played and sang from 7 PM until 1 AM. We were really good, so we stuck together and did colleges in the area. Everyone had a blast everywhere we played. I was 15 but drove the '57 anyway LOL Fun times then

May 20, 20251 yr 21 hours ago, GreenbleedinNC said:None of these players are rookies. You act like an OC has to change their diapers. If AJ and Smitty don't know how to run routes by now we're in serious trouble. An OC's job is to find ways for them to take what the O DOESN'T give you and while it's "much easier" to take what they give you that is a sign of lax/ineffective coaching. You need to go out there and force the D to do whatever you want them to do, to open a window of opportunity for your QB to throw a strike. It's also the WR's job to study who will be covering them. No one is handcuffing AJ. Routes are routes, they all learn most of the same ones. WR's have to learn how to trick the DB's into making committed moves, then doing something else. If you can't do that you have to "out athlete" them. This is league wide once again, not a fixation in Philly. It's about talent and why the top guys get paid. This is why you blew the Reagor pick. Flat out straight speed is nearly useless as an attribute if that is your only strength. Of course you can't be a deadbeat on speed, but it's overrated. A guy could run a 4 flat 40 and be an awful WR. First can he do that for 40 plays a game? if he can you may have something, but that is highly doubtful. Once I know a WR is "fast enough" you look at cone and shuttle times. The cone drill will show you his agility "aka "quickness". The shuttle will show you how reactionary he is and how his hips work, then whatever time he ran can he run that time all game consistently. but those are rookie things to scout. The top pros already have all those attributes(why you pay them). Then you have other factors like how high can they jump for a contested ball and how strong is their upper body so they aren't intimidated. AJ can check all those boxes and Smitty falls under the "quick/elusive blanket. Being a master at the last ones are why you pay top dollar(and believe me they know). Slot guys vary and can be changed per play on what the play is designed to do. But you know all that. Curl and slant routes are hard to defend(I wish we would use these more) and those tend to wear a DB down over time since you are forcing them to make additional moves to defend you. Getting the timing down by the QB who over time learns his receivers nuances(we can call this "chemistry") is one of the most vital things to be effective. All these things fit together in tandem and getting all the involved players to that point is very difficult. If any of them are having an off day, you will struggle. TE has similar traits, but those guys are bigger, heavier guy who can move defenders to get that open window. IDK why I an writing all this, football fans should already know all of this. Manning/Harrison was, for me, one of the best tandems in history. Many plays were automatic and Manning could let the ball fly because he knew exactly what moves Marvin would put on a DB and exactly where he would be on the field. He could almost do this blindfolded. Hurts made some nice strides over the last year in understanding those nuances now that he isn't panic throwing. The offensive changes during the bye got him settled down, to where he can make those reads and deliver. Less is more. The accuracy improved significantly, the passes were not rushed and most importantly the turnovers stopped. We know Hurts is not Manning, but he is now effective in the scheme we run and I'm sure he works on arm strength daily in the gym. Stop with the "big picture" baloney because the only picture the WR sees is how to beat 1 man and do it consistently. There is no big picture for him, it's 1 vs 1 vs the ball in flight. Once you leave the LOS it's a small box to work in(aka catch radius) while running at full speed. No "big picture." One play at a time, beat your man. it's your job. Do your job. If the QB does his you have a nice strike. Sorry for the essay. I shouldn't have had to write it. There is more if you want my opinion. GREAT QB's can put a ball into a 1 foot cube 50 yards away(try this on your own from even 15 yards away LOL).Brees was one of the best at this IMO and he was a smallish QB. Hurts is getting better at that accuracy. Sometimes that's the only window you will get...........all game............ 12 inches squareJust should be an expectation towards achieving an average level of opportunity. All things being equal between most NFL O scheme and ours…the separation windows will be greater for us than average…instead of smaller.
May 20, 20251 yr In some deep NFL meeting a quite awhile back Siri mentioned he was kind of jealous at how much Kevin Patullo was following Moore around. Patullo I credit with sharing being a hard worker with Siri. We’re really relying on that paying off here.

Less embarrassing for you and less time wasted for us.
May 20, 20251 yr Apparently Howie recently received a new extension that wasn't in the news.Speculation here locally...maybe 30 mil per? Everyone on the radio was saying he was worth that much. Very interesting both Siri and Howie being perceived as being good at their jobs. Common sense for most people.

And went on a dominant run... Basically a Smith drop away from not losing since week 4.
