Like our disagreement seems more how we differ looking at things than actually it being any different. I’m not looking at a on the line LB without his hand down as Off Ball or second level of the D. I went to further lengths describing what I was referring to as how many were on the line of scrimmage or not trying to explain that detail to you.

My description of a Five Man Frontcould be 4-3Under, 3-4, 5-2…just no way to really know without hearing playcall matching to playbook.

Going All In is a known term describing certain contending teams approach towards a season. Nothing I just created. Is what it is.

In Accounting we have the double entry system. So for every dollar moved into a future Cap year, a dollar is removed from the current Cap year. No Cap dollars are created and no Cap dollars magically disappear. They just move from one time period to another time period.

I get your point. There is some potential (but currently not real) uncertainty about the 2031, 2030, and 2029 Mahomes numbers. However, the September 2023 contract addendum gives us a precedent for how both the Chiefs and Mahomes will handle making the dollars for those years guaranteed (or not).

The Hurts contract for those years simply does not exist. So the Hurts situation is TOTAL uncertainty. And their is no prior transaction to provide us with precedent.

The Hurts contract is certainty...they can let it ride out because each year is an option bonus. No need to restructure. Just decide if they want to keep him past 2028. That's team control.

KC ...I'm trying to tell you, they still have monster Cap hits the next 2 years...you see Mahomes being under contract past 2029... as a good thing. I don't. Because those Cap hits you seem to think are reasonable...are going to get higher with the restructures.

It's absolutely not ideal to sacrifice $100 plus million of cap hits just to show on paper that a player is under contract.

I'd prefer to start a new contract.. and the easy selling point... you keep harping on Mahomed from 2020 before 2023... comparing that to Hurts starting 2023.

What is the thing they have in common? They are the start of the contracts. That's why I prefer to start over again with Hurts if we choose. Because it will start with low cap hits again. KC is already locking themselves with the high cap hits as they keep shifting money to those years. Shifting money and still remaining much higher cap hits that Hurts...until 2029, when it will be much closer than it looks on paper right now...then Mahomes again will have higher cap hits than Hurts.

It's easy to see... other than 2029... Mahomes will have much higher cap hits than Hurts.

Again... take the win with State Farm..but in no way is Mahomes any where close to as good of a contract situation as Hurts is. Not close

Like I added in with my two cents butting into you two discussion. Mahomes contract is in its final year effectively. KC has a bit more leverage being he’s under contract…but if Mahomes forces things…they’d have to just be forced to dump players and salaries just to not lose Mahomes. Not sure trying to compare Hurts and Mahomes contracts though. We going forward are in a much higher leverage standing with Hurts. We don’t have to rework his contract right away. But I have very little doubt both KC and Philly will be reworking their QB contracts next offseason. Just can’t get caught up in believing the BS fake paper numbers actually equate to concrete guaranteed and locked in numbers. Bunch of fluff…more fitting…that isn’t happening. Guaranteed remaining money and market situation really the only factors going into the reworked new contracts they’ll each agree to. Whether even referred to as an extension or not.

Seems like No Mas pretty nailing down the situation here on all this. This was the one time I answered so much more concisely though. Just stated…Mahomes final year in that contract.

The State Farm offset MW counters with not sure if he’s making a good point or mislead. If he’s hinting at Brady getting illegal against the rules benefit and pay from Kraft off the cap books he has a point. Like Brady wasn’t just so team first accepting less pay in my belief. Just officially on the NFL cap…they cheated and claimed less. Whole Kraft funneled to Brady his remaining off the books loot through his various businesses. Plus use of crazy elite private jets and mansions scattered across the globe. Not sure if it was a bunch of hidden pay avoiding taxes and all that or more just fabricated payments through aligned businesses. State Farm paying Mahomes for all their commercials and advertising is worth a fortune on its own though. So endorsement money can be insane…Remember Peyton Manning on every single commercial break? Like Hurts signed up with Jordan is just a whole seperate payday for these athletes. Jordan just completely crushed the endorsement commercialization game breaking totally different grounds. All that sponsorship money no effect on NBA salary.

So only point applies about State Farm would be if you are insinuating State Farm is working an agreement for the Chiefs to slap on directly extra however many millions exactly offsetting NFL official salary decline corresponding agreement. Not seeing all that for several obvious reasons. Just all massive risks State Farm would be taking on. Which State Farm years ago threw some ridiculous huge contract numbers at Mahomes to get him. You know…State Farm/Mahomes relationship wasn’t some one year or one commercial type contract. State Farm put together the mega-endorsement deal on that one. Be interested to hear exactly what was the arrangement. Thinking like crazy loot thrown at Brady from the network to commentate comparably.

Point out how very real and tangible the Chiefs money struggles have been each season. Really had to struggle to keep elite DT. Smart move to trade Cheetah. Mahomes money forced these decisions.

Now Chiefs this past season throwing big money at a bad choice in T is a whole other discussion.

Prime example to understand a bit of the contract true meanings: see Huff. Whole trade we weren’t considering until Post June 1st. Then we could spread the hit into next season. So even made it easier for us to just eat extra money facilitating the trade. Think that’s the detail key to we need to actually be getting a decent draft pick in return from the Niners here. We took on money…to unload him.

Us taking more money facilitating the trade should bump a 6th to a 5th at least.

Crazy because Niners or almost any other team should be the taking on more money guys as an option instead of looking to repeat champs. Almost always previously would be the last team taking on extra money affording cap space. Shows just how fantastic a position our organization is in. Completely setup for this dynasty run. Became champs on the backs of youth core franchise players. Jalen Carter such a massive key piece towards our totally differing championship team’s future.

We paid over 100 mil more cash to our team than Raiders…also how we’ve done it.

Our moves have been All In approach….realize it or not.

Cap money all low as possible now being deferred towards future how we’re in this position.

But maintaining draft picks as a means to overcome high paid players with cheap rookie contracts future.

All top paid players contracts actually hitting our cap at tiny fractions of average annual pay.

Moving away from huge extension to Reddick’s clear defining cap decision.

Not signing old vet FAs over yesterday’s production. Great drafting. Extending right core guys.

Still seems crazy how we just keep extending so many guys at top pay.

Think I’m understanding your different way of looking at things to understand our differences surrounding this. That’s really just all going on with this discussion. We aren’t labeling modern D in the same ways.

On that we can agree.

How we overpay Bradberry to sit on IR. Biggest FA signing Huff was a dud. Absorbing plenty of dead money from the past.

That’s all think we disagree on there. Technicalities with terminology differences.

I did attempt to specify how I was defining things as at the line of scrimmage. Think you missed that part. But…plenty backing up your way of describing things on your side I’m understanding now also.
