He was trying to. You could pretty much tell he wanted to just throw the ball away and avoid the sack. But he realized it would have been ruled a sack anyway…since he wasn’t outside T box.

Are you talking about the play in Tampa?   Was your TV working ?

This is where you lose us.... you just can’t bring yourself to find any fault with Hurts.   Specific plays where he makes errors....pee wee league mistakes, and you just try to look for every excuse to not blame him.

Then these vague....  " he can always improve " but never offer anything specific you think he can improve on.

JV,I hope he learned from this

He was trying to get outside the T box so he could just throw it away…exactly like you suggested…you just left that key part of the NFL rules out.

So let’s try and block somebody in the future maybe

I hope he(Hurts) steps up. Although I'm not expecting a brutal fall off Jurgens will have to prove he can fill some big shoes and Hurts needs to be ready if he cannot. I have faith in jurgens that he will grow into those shoes over time, but I'm sure initially he and Steen will be tested first

I'm more concerned about Steen than I am Jurgens.   Jurgens played at honorable mention pro bowl level at RG... C is his position.   Should only be better at C than RG.  Steen has never played RG for any period of time... let alone limited NFL experience.

It's a difficult breed to keep, like St. Bernards. I tried to get them to change over to an American Staffordshire when I was in Ohio to no avail LOL

Yes....reading a defense and making throws.

Yep just like every single NFL  QB

So .... when they rush 6 and the play call has 5 blocking.... would be nice if the QB knew how to audible extra protection.

The mistake was running into the EZ,that was the JV part, you never EVER do that period,The NFL rules have ZIP to do with KNOWLEDGE

Let's try to plan for the unexpected, that's on the QB

Yes, heart problems. Great Danes too which are part Mastiff

Except you clearly established a work ethic and leadership.... so he already has that....specifically for him.... he needs those 2 things.

Yeah,I suspect that gap will be hit plenty and they need to prove that's not the place to go. It will be fun to watch

The Safety Hurts took. It’s really hard to figure out what Hurts could have done to avoid it. But clearly he shouldn’t have that many guys come straight attacking him so quickly. Hurts is at fault here also. But nowhere close to some JV peewee mistake. He was running for his life and couldn’t avoid all the rushers and get outside the T box. They caught him.

Kelce called protections. But it was a four man rush. Three of them pushed the pocket straight back and attacked Hurts. I feel that was a huge failure on the Oline to do their jobs. Not just one guy failed. Three Oline players for us did horrible jobs blocking on that play.

Stop and drop would have allowed another play? Oh not in the rules either. A free 2 and the ball back, a possible 9 point error. JV A 4-5 yard sack would be explainable at least, not a 12 yard run into the EZ. This is the crap we are trying to convey to you to no avail

Aikman even clearly states nowhere to throw the ball with everybody covered.

He had to go around the outside rusher beating Mailata…but Dickerson was straight going backwards on skates.

See this is a play that just shows off how you both recourse to ever admit any other player having responsibilities for anything. Four man rush. Three of them beat our blocking…quickly. Pushing straight back into Hurts. Does anybody else have a job to do on our team other than Hurts in either of your minds?

The ball was on the 14...  that's plenty of room not to take a safety.

Watch the play... he ran backwards... pump faked instead of just running to throw it away....this after running backwards into the end zone in the first place.

Stop and toss the ball into the middle of the field for an incomplete or stop and take the sack. You have to read and react, you can't take 15 minutes to make decisions

Three Oline get beat badly blocking and all you can do is …blame Hurts?

So you see no issue that all there rushers push our Oline back so quickly like they’re on skates here?

Hurts needs to be ready for anything, including the failure of the O line. He has to react not try to win the game from the 14. Take the lesser of the evils,it that's a sack that's better than a turnover with points attached
