Both the 2 WRs can play slot... the issue is Quez really couldn't. Put a guy in there that can play slot and now you have the ability to keep the other 2 outside...more options.

Very easy to go from " Quez wasn't a good slot" and reading between the lines where GB was blaming Hurts 🤦🤦🤦🤦 His blamed Hurts being at fault for not throwing over the middle more and questioned his field vision. So yes indeed it’s very easy to link no competent Slot WR provided with lower production over the middle. How do you not see any correlation here?

Now I’ve always stated my belief of not being of prototypical QB size possibly limiting Hurts vision over the middle. Kind of the reasoning to begin with of the protocol QB height.
July 21, 20241 yr There is also always the option of running crossing patterns with our WR. It is an actual play that could be called. Very popular play elsewhere utilizing natural picks.

Yes... his field vision is an absolute question that everyone has.... well almost everyone.

I do think he’s been stunted a bit having a new O every season of his college and pro career. Hopefully we got coaches in that can ughh..coach him on this area of the game. Don’t think Big Dom will be of service in this area.
July 21, 20241 yr To be honest every single game I watch there are more open targets that don’t receive the ball at times. It’s somewhat just part of the game. But increasing selection of best targets is always great for any QB to strive towards. After he learns the new O of course.

Idk what you are looking for as an answer? If I answer yes, is it putting too much pressure on Hurts... I know you don't like that. If i answer no.... then will you take it as me saying Hurts is to blame because it doesn't matter who is there, it's his fault? I'm in a catch 22 here with you... if someone else was asking me this question, my answer is I believe 2024 will be a better season for the QB.
July 21, 20241 yr How about if we want our LBs to cover better and be more sure tackling…what would we do to make that happen? Or…last season we couldn’t cover anybody in the Secondary. Do you expect all these DBs we brought in will possibly improve that area? We had a problem with the numbers struggling on our punts. Brought in a better P and our numbers improved.

July 21, 20241 yr If AJ only played out of the slot…do you believe the target location numbers would change accordingly to his presence? All the sudden Hurts throws over the middle but you see Hurts having an issue throwing to one outside location.

So you disagree that 2024 should be a better year for the QB? This is where I can't follow. We get better slot options, so I think there should be more success.... my choice was clear that I think the better targets should help the offense.... and that I expect a better result. Now you spin that into me blaming Hurts too?
July 21, 20241 yr Just curious.... did Biden drop out because Hurts wants Harris to be president? What else can we talk about that doesn't involve Hurts...that you can spin that we are blaming Hurts?

I'm talking about the whole thing.... Barkley, Smith, Campbell, Shipley... the whole group helping ..as compared to a guy that was a clear out run deep guy.

The YAC setup....the ability to get open in a phone booth. The 2024 unit is much better equipped for that... IMO.
July 21, 20241 yr Sidney Brown going on the PUP list. He’ll have to miss the first four games at least if he isn’t activated before the season starts.
