Definitely some things to clean up, but this loss doesn't worry me much. The #1 seed isn't happening now, but I didn't think it would anyway. They can rest up a bit now too. W're the better team, though Daniels is a heck of a player. Very similar to Lamar.

Daniels is a tide raiser.

Would have liked to see Huff on some of those possessions and think he has value coming back

Pass rush was a bit lacking, chasing Daniels around I bet is exhausting. With Sweat down for an interval there was no rotation that I could tell. Getting Huff back will be useful.

I think WAS is a good team that will be a thorn in Philly's side for years. It's not like they lost to a bad team.

Can we get Hunter Renfrow for the slot and returns? He cant contribute less to the team than Dotson right?

He supposedly soft retired

Any word on him yet

He was limited thru the week, not good enough today though. I think he plays next week. Should be good to go by playoffs though.

Real question is when do we get Goedert? Because Calcaretta was not it today

WR is one of the positions you either got it or don't, to me. Can teach blocking but route running is a natural skill.

Frankly i don’t love the guys we’ve given him outside of aj and smith. Can say some of its offense being reliant on aj, smith and barkley. but i also think dotson is better caliber player than quez. Dont see him improving much at all as season has continued.

Am I the only one not overly upset by today?

Tough loss. But there will be better Eagles football ahead.

Today was a gut check.

How they respond will define the season.

We were tentatively the 2 seed and now locked into the 2 seed

Sucks to watch the eagles lose but we’re getting into "bench starters” territory

I’d give Pickett a B- for his performance today. B+ if Smith catches the ball.

Yep. It was an annoying game, but it was what it was. Nothing to panic over.

A bunch of shotgun runs WITHOUT a running QB is malpractice.

We didn't run anything under center with Pickett. That's not tenable with a QB who is not a threat in the run game OR a fast processor.

They ran plenty of pistol and the OL was struggling with a new person calling protections…shotgun and pistol gives him a better chance of surviving with the OL seemingly running basic blocking schemes (all 22 should tell a lot)

A good point brought up on the PHLY post game show:

I think Hurts plays Sunday, but if not, they're probably going to have to play him vs the Giants, even if they beat Dallas, because they aren't going to want Hurts to go into the playoffs not having played for essentially 3 weeks. And if they play him, they wouldn't play him with backups and do him dirty like that, so if Hurts doesn't play Sunday, we may be looking at all the offensive starters vs Giants regardless.

Hurts didn't play a snap in the preseason. I wouldnt put it past them at all to let him sit out

Today’s game was almost exactly like the Jags game only the Skins finished the game winning drive

Great analysis Mark "Dirty” Sanchez. Any other blatantly obvious observations you wanna cry about?

My biggest thing was juat to get through the game without major injuries. Glad he will be back.

And yeah...he was horrible blocking

The explanation for CJGJ's ejection from official: he taunted the Commies player.

So basically CJGJ got ejected for saying "na na na poo poo, you can't beat us"

Absolute Fing joke, Lurie should be furious.

Quote

"He's basically taunting the opponent on the second foul. He already had a first one earlier in the game that we had announced as his first towards disqualification. So, this became his second. He was taunting the players so that's a disqualification by rule."

I get taunting penalty twice is an ejection but taunting by speech? That's so weak. We've seen them get penalties for celebrating too close to the opponent or doing gestures towards the opponent but trash talking the opponent? That's pretty sad

There's always the one fan that is foaming at the mouth blaming one play, despite many bad plays that contributed to a team loss. It's not like Smitty's drop was the only bad play. There's a LOT of blame to go around.

Why does it matter to focus only on one play?

It lost them the game. The same way Saquon’s drop in the Atlanta game lost them that one. Obviously there are a bunch of plays over 60 minutes of football, but those are two bullet, end of game plays that if are catches ends the game. It happens, it doesn’t take away from how good of players Saquon and DeVonta are, but those two plays cost them two losses this season.

Still gave him plenty of opportunities to score what 36 points though? So yeah the turnovers are positive but actually they also kind of reinforce how bad this defense was for large chunks.

Are you surprised? The defense didn't recover form #8 being a bonehead. Had a couple of blown coverages due to injuries (and the said boneheadedness) and Jayden ran around and made some plays. Good for him. It's a totally different game with an offense putting up more than field goals with the 5 gifts that the defense gave Pickett. That allowed Washington to load up for Saquon who would typically destroy teams in the 2nd half and give the defense plenty of rest to chase around QBs.

He's good. I still worry about his play-style long-term given his weight/frame. He takes a ton of hits.

I think the CJGJ ejection was weak and tacky but he should have got the memo the first time. They clearly called the first one to keep the game in check and not get out of hand. That should be his warning that he needs to tone it down.

14-1 could have happened if not for 2 dropped passes

He is very slight. All those runs definitely will catch up.

I don't know if anyone keeps tracks of the bogus penalties throughout the league but I'm curious how this year overall compares to previous years. Refs seemed really bad league wide this season
