Why can’t you just admit he lost us the game?

Why is admitting reality so hard for some of you?

Why is admitting you have crappy takes so hard for you?

I'm not bummed out about the loss.  More concerned about Hurts.

WA defense dared Pickett to beat them and he almost did it.  The Barkley drop and the Smith drop were huge, both could have changed the outcome.

Can't stop Jayden daniels. Defense records 5 turnovers. Somewhere in there Jayden was stopped. Overdramatic much?

Still gave him plenty of opportunities to score what 36 points though? So yeah the turnovers are positive but actually they also kind of reinforce how bad this defense was for large chunks.

Oh yeah, what a crappy take to correctly identify this as the reason we lost.

Stop blaming Pickett, ffs.  The Eagles scored 33, that's the 3rd most they've scored in a game all season long.  Blaming the offense for the loss is ridiculous.  You give up 36 points to an opponent and you'll lose the game more times than you will win.  And this was the Commanders, just imagine what the Lions would put up on the Eagles if the defense lays an egg like this against them.

33 points as a gift of 5 turnovers by Washington.  Pickett was the primary factor of the loss.  Hurts doesn't get concussed and this game isn't even close.

I would expect no less from Smitty

still makes your take horrible. No play exists in a vacuum.

It was but you've become a total clown with your anti-Hurts bias.

Got to get back on track next week and then yeah everything you’ve said I can absolutely see. Win next week, make week 18 the bye and I can absolutely see Detroit losing with all their injuries. Got to win next week though otherwise we are in trouble.

We are playing Dallas after they were just eliminated.  I'm not worried about the game next week.

It cost us the game. Even Smith knows it.

For some reason there are people coping in here pretending it didn’t.

Picket had hurt ribs. That may explain why he looked extra awful. Either way that wasn’t the real squad today. They’ll be back

It's because he is an awful QB.  He hasn't hard hurt ribs his whole career.,

Nah, Pickett did enough to win. Hurts is better obviously, but this loss is squarely on Smith’s tiny shoulders.

Is it the only play that cost us the game?

They’ll be motivated to stick it to us to be fair. We should beat them but I think we need hurts to be cleared to do so.

You're so biased that you want to trash the backup

Wait... that sounds familiar

I'm really not that upset they lost.  16 straight wins seemed unlikely.  So, they can reset, win against Dallas, rest starters against the Giants, and get a 'bye' of sorts with something to fuel them for the matchup in Round 1 against Washington.   And being the 2 seed, Detroit finally succumbing to their injuries in their first game puts the game for the NFCCG in Philly anyway.   If not, the Eagles get to go play in ideal conditions against the injury riddled Lions.

I'm good.

I like you sneaking in that 16 there!

But yeah, I’m not worried. Would have been nice to wrap up division today, but I felt like this was a game we might drop going into it. Losing today probably keeps them from being overly cocky going into the playoffs. I still think Eagles are team to beat in NFC, and there’s no major injuries from the game. By the next time we play them we’ll be at home, rested from week 18, Hurts & Goedert will be back, Huff gives us an extra pass rusher, & hopefully CJGJ doesn’t get ejected.

Beat Dallas next week & we’re sitting alright

You know, usually our backup QB is much worse than you're starting QB so he's going to play worse. Especially when he hasn't played all year. That's typically when your starters should be, you know, trying to help him out. Literally no one will argue that Hurts wouldn't have played better, that's not even the point. Of course he would have played better, he's the starting QB. Putting the blame on a backup after his starters dropped 3 of his passes, 3 of which were game changing, makes no sense. This is just unreal.

Obviously I can only speak for myself but my point with the criticism of Picket is that this game was a fluke. Washington was on their way to a drubbing on both sides of the ball until Hurts got hurt. The starters were the only reason the offense moved the ball at all. What was it 6 turnovers they were gifted? You give Jalen 6 turnovers they win by 20+

All I know is if Jalen can’t play next week the Giants are in for a bloodbath ha

There has never been, nor will there ever be, a single moment in any game that determines the outcome.  There were plays to be made throughout the game that weren't.  Offensively, defensively, ST, and coaching decisions.   Not one single defining moment.   You are correct that if Smith makes the catch, the game ends differently.  But, that's hardly the only one.  There were literally dozens of those plays sprinkled through out the 60 minutes.   I'm not sure why you are digging in your heels so deep on this one.

Some people are really coping hard. Understandable, I guess.

I’m just going to let them.

No but if he catches that then we likely win. And we can use the same thing we've been doing for weeks with Hurts

A win is a win

Just now, Connecticut Eagle said:

Yes.

This is the nature of football. Essentially 99% of the game is noise. It’s why I knew we lost the game as soon as Smith dropped the ball.

I’d say it was probably the single biggest play that cost us the game yes. But the D was the reason we lost overall. Giving up 36 points despite 5 turnovers is just unacceptable.

There's always the one fan that is foaming at the mouth blaming one play, despite many bad plays that contributed to a team loss. It's not like Smitty's drop was the only bad play. There's a LOT of blame to go around.

Why does it matter to focus only on one play?

No but the timing of it makes it more crucial.

The threat of Hurts running in this offense helps Saquan go off, without that it was much harder to run

You think that that team has that level of pride?    Nah.  They are booking their vacations, just like we heard from DJ Moore about Chicago.  It will be cold here, and they will be looking for a soft place to land.  Meanwhile, the Eagles should come in all kinds of pissed off about this game, and should be looking to leave no doubt that this team is different from last year's.
