And how do the Eagles have an illegal formation on the last kickoff??

Sydney Brown has to stop making boneheaded mistakes.  That was a killer after they already returned it to the 38.  What the hell.

A loss is never a "good" thing but....I've detailed thoroughly that this might not be the worst thing to happen.  Let Washington start sniffing themselves, between Hurts, the refs (and I mean f'ing egregious penalties called against the Eagles in key situations), CJGJ, injuries that occurred during the game....it took several dropped passes for Washington to beat us.  Good slap to the face to the Eagles, let them wake up from it and yes...have Washington come back to the Linc for the playoffs.  I'm actually looking forward to it.

Oh...and I know it's a "different" NFL...I do not need to see Eagles players joking around/laughing with Daniels and the Commanders during the game.  No f'ing smiles, laughs, jokes until you motherf'ing burry them next time.

Still want to know what was said that was so damaging that it got CGJG punched in the face and ejected

I have exclusive video...

Incident 2:

Honestly, the first one makes sense, but the second seems like the refs were just a little sensitive.

There’s a chance that picket could miss the next game if his rib x rays come back with anything.

he also said that lack of 1st team reps in practise limited his performance.

maybe we’ll see McKee ?

I can imagine, can’t figure out why there weren’t offsetting penalties though.

Hopefully, McKee with a week of practice - I wouldn’t want to prep Kenny all week just for him to tap out and bring in another cold backup.

I can imagine too. What I can't imagine is that it's enough to eject him from a game.

But then again the Eagles are last in beneficial penalties so getting screwed isn't really a surprise

He's a hated player in the league for... reasons

I think rules are fairly strict, 2 personnel fouls (unsportsmanlike?) = an ejection.

I'm aware of that. My point is:

When have you ever seen a player ejected for only chirping at the other team other than yesterday?

I rarely see flags for chirping at all - but then I saw CGJ get one like this earlier in the game, so a new precedent established by this officiating crew.

With the Commanders being a new and improved product that's heavily favored, and now with a new DC stadium in the works, the way the refs treated the Eagles is shocking but ultimately not surprising.

After processing last night's game, I do not see this team any differently than I did 24hrs ago.  This was a nothing loss.  Of course, if you were one of those who felt this Eagles vintage was a historic juggernaut superior to the 2022, 2017, 2004, and 2002 iterations, then you should see this team differently after Sunday.

This is a team with a very good defense still learning to be great and an offense that is highly non-traditional and wins via run, run, run.  They could win the SB.  It took an almost unthinkable series of bad luck events just to drop a should-have-gone-the-other-way nailbiter against a pretty good playoff team.  But they can't pass their way over and above opponents in laugher blowouts (with or without Hurts), so playoff games are not going to be a gimme.  In total, I don't see them in any less of a positive light than before.  And we got to stop chasing after a bye week we were never getting anyway, so that's a silver lining.

But, a couple downstream consequences:

1. I will be looking for the defense to at least demonstrate an emotional and performance rebound to get back on the right track next week.  Absolutely need to see that.

2. I'll blow one week off to weather, but it's imperative to see ST stop providing pathetically short fields after kickoffs.  That was one of the biggest and most under-discussed of the sequential failures that allowed a loss yesterday.

3. Dallas week is now a must-win game.  The Eagles, from an INJURY standpoint, are starting to show some foundational wear and tear cracks at the end of the year.  This is still a team that projects to have a remarkably "available" roster for the playoffs...but everyone is starting to get dinged.  Barkley is approaching an unthinkable workload.  Almost every player on defense has been walking off the field and missing snaps.  Hurts has his concussion and usual late season injury from running too much.  The sky is the limit if everyone spends week 18 at the spa.  If they are gutting out a win in 15 degrees for week 18 after choking one away against Dallas, I will have a very, very pessimistic outlook on their playoff run.  They'll almost certainly be banged up wild card weekend against a team that has a knack for playing them tough.

Beat Dallas and then pack it in for the playoffs.

Another person who hates on Hurts anytime he's less than perfect now bending over backwards to make excuses for Pickett.

It isn't a coincidence that Hurts has one of the highest QB win percentages of all time and Eagles far in the losing colum in games where he doesn't play.  He leaves game with a lead and nearly the whole game played with another QB and we lose it despite 5 defensive forced turnovers.

It's hard to know whether we win this game with Hurts.  The defensive collapse on the last drive was pretty epic.  I do think Hurts's impact on the run game was more apparent when he was absent.  Pickett made enough plays to win.  The drop by Smith wasn't about Hurts.  It was just a bad play by Smith.

Shefter: Eagles should rest starters week 18 to let the Giants win, so they would get the #7 draft pick instead of #2 so they won't be able to get their QB of the future.

♟️

But it is an interesting thing, the Giants might tank and bench their starters so they can lose and get higher draft pick.

They were freaking awful! The Olsen part that sticks out to me was when he thought the second pass interference on AJ shouldn't of been called. According to Olsen the corner can have his hand on the receivers back... Completely ignoring the corners arm going across  AJs chest and that hand on AJs back had a handful of jersey 🤣🤣.

I wanted to blow my brains out after the 30th time joe davis said the commanders were winning with 4 then 5 turnovers.. 🤬

Hurts impact was felt everywhere especially in the run game with DC just send run blitz after run blitz. Is a comfortable 17 point win if he doesn't get targeted

With Hurts the game would at least be shortened with less 3 and outs, more tush pushes, etc. I think the D plays better if they face less possessions. Who knows if we get the turnover luck, but I think the pass rush and back-end assignments are more sound.
