You mean, if he executed it like a QB is supposed to...    Yeah, RBs aren't QBs.  And QBs shouldn't be RBs.  Seems there's a massive disconnect with the fundamentals.

If the issue with Hurts is his passing ability... then I have a hard time thinking there would be a loud outcry for Fields to supplant him.  But, maybe I'm looking for the wrong kind of consistency.

I don’t think there was some conspiracy with Hurts. He wanted to go back in, the independent doc that clears him said no. 

If anything, Jalen’s comments about "beating the test” a few weeks ago might have hurt him more than anything. Even if he didn’t mean it that way, I can see the NFL having a problem with that phrasing and not giving him the benefit of doubt next time.

Just saw a video clip of CJGJ being flagged and the defender hits him right in the fing face while he is just talking. Ha They can’t be serious. No wonder they refused to show the replay.

I tend to think he actually had a concussion . When you watch him get up from the initial hit he looks wobbly and then regained himself to then give a thumbs up to the official. When I first saw it I thought for sure they were gonna make him go out and get tested because it looked like he was wobbly. I was surprised they didn’t immediately do it.

Definitely was coverage. I’m not excusing the kicks either. We had one not even get in the landing zone. I do think mann’s kicks are normally not as short as yesterday but their coverage was by far worse

A certain stat-centric reporter was arguing that Jake should’ve made the kick because on average it has been makable this season… you know Sept until now, including domes. Smh.

There is a reason why he is the third stringer and one should think that the coaches know why that is. If he can’t beat out Pickett for backup then he can’t be that good to start. I’ve seen people calling for him to save us from Hurts, which makes absolutely no sense. If this guy is really that good, then he would not be riding the bench as a 3rd stringer. 
Preseason says nothing IMO. There are always athletes that can perform when there isn’t much pressure to perform (real games that mean something). Once the lights go on, they turn into the Brad Goebels etc.. that should never see the field.

That's the tricky part though... there's the cost of acquisition that comes into play.  They traded for Pickett, Pickett was the former first rounder, and Pickett has legit NFL experience.  That's a tough trifecta to overcome for a guy when his HC starts the season with his head on the chopping block.  He's not going to upset the apple cart and put McKee ahead of the guy the GM traded for before the season.  And once you get into the season, what real opportunities does the 3rd stringer get to prove he's better than the backup?  

I'm not saying McKee is any kind of savior, but I do wonder if he's not a clearly better option than Pickett.  I think he's got much more of an "NFL arm" than Pickett, though much less mobility.

Yup.  At some point, the medical staff and coaching staff need to overrule the competitor.

Chance the commanders still miss the playoffs. If Atlanta beats them and then beats Carolina in week 18 and Tampa wins out against Carolina and New Orleans then commanders lose in Dallas week 18 they’d lose tiebreaker to Tampa. 

I'm late to the party and I'm sure someone already mentioned but the commanders clinched with the win sunday. They could improve finish #6 but thats it.

Yeah that’s not true. They haven’t clinched yet. Their scenario is win Sunday vs. Atlanta or Tampa loses and they are in. If Gb wins tonight they clinch. Hypothetically if commanders lose to Atlanta and Dallas they’d finish 10-7. If Tampa wins out (assuming Atlanta wins the division) they’d also be 10-7. Tiebreaker would come down to head to head then conference record. Tampa would win as they beat the commanders week 1
