Any GM looking to move up for Sanders or Ward should be fired before the draft just thinking about it

I didn’t say I’d move up for sanders or ward. However if the niners love one of them and they are available in a move up i do not think you can rule them out in doing so especially if they decided they dont want to pay Purdy long term

He should be able to trash talk. Both sides should IMO

Lol I tried to do some weekly game threads in ATNFL but it’s been dead since the board was separated. Maybe you can get that area more active. We used to have a bunch of other fans posting in there

We have fewer non-Eagles fans, so fewer people post in ATNFL. But the GDT will be in TATE for game day, then later moved into ATNFL. I really want to segregate those posts from the Blog though, to prevent the blog from getting too big and potentially slowing things down. Everyone can still post about the games, we just need those to be in their own thread.

I hope so! Beating the cowboys is what brings me the most joy.

Niners at 10 is 1300 and pick 3 is 2200 according to chart on draftek. A 1st and 3rd this year takes them to 1520. I’m guessing they send a 1st in 2026 and 1st or 2nd in 2027 gets that done. They still have picks left to go get oline done. They’d still have picks the next couple years and also can trade Purdy to another team with conditions to help put towards it

According to spotrac they have 66 mil in cap for 2025 so plenty to fix the oline

IMG_3480.thumb.jpeg.18d12c2e1c481d93365a3b11d717f7c2.jpeg

again they won’t have first round picks but they’d still have enough capital to fix oline with other picks and cap space.

do I think the Niners are gonna get high enough to pick that quarterback? I don’t but the initial topic was I think they are a sleeper to do it because they’ve shown you in the past if they love a quarterback they’re not afraid to give up that ammo and go get them. They gave up ammo for Jimmy and then Trey Lance. Ignoring that they might be a sleeper to move up is just ignoring what they’ve shown in the past.

i’ll put another sleeper thing in here, Jalen hurts has missed a week or more late in the season three out of the last four years. We’ve seen in the past with Carson Wentz that even if they paid him, they would take a quarterback in the second round. largely due to the fact, Carson did not stay healthy towards the end of the year and missed time. So you’re gonna tell me it’s out of the realm of possibility that the Eagles are a sleeper team in taking a quarterback in the 2nd/3rd round this year? I think it’s very unlikely but to say they’re completely out of it would be going against what they’ve already shown and how they value that position.

You don’t fix their o line problems and d line problems with only a 2nd round pick.

Plus that $66 million of cap space is misleading.  They only have 42 players under contract for 2025.

I’m hoping that is the case.

Yeah…they are old as a team and at the end of a window they didn’t capitalize on

Easy to say that now, not so easy to do it in a game (for him)

With Hurts seemingly not progressing at all through protocol, safe to say we don’t see him again until round 1?

You are acting like 66 mil they can’t go sign one good OLineman in FA, draft one add depth even if they were to make that move. Also they can create even more cap space by restructuring guys. hence why they have $66 moving into 2025. cap situation isn’t going to be an issue. I find it funny that’s going to prevent them from adding depth and talent. the niners continue to find ways to be savvy with their cap. like the eagles having Barkley at 3.8 against the cap in 2024 and 5.5 in 2025. You are acting like lynch hasn’t been savvy with the cap like that to have the space he does going into 2025 and fitting the guys on the roster he has over the past 5 years.

Add on having spent 2 picks from this past draft on OL. One is Puni who’s the 6th best graded guard by PFF; a third rounder. They have 3 guys locked in for starting spots in 2025. So need two starters. You are acting like they are replacing the entire OL in 2025 with 2 picks (1st and 3rd). Very easily sign a guard/center/tackle and draft another in round two and be set along their oline in 2025

also have Floyd and bosa back next year. Hargrave will be a post June 1st cut which very well could be back like eagles did with fletcher cox. Do they need to get better along the defensive line? Yes, but they have cap space and lynch has structure contracts in the past to get guys he wants and bring in depth isn’t going to kill their 2025 cap.

again, did i say they were 100% going to do it? No. what I said was they are a SLEEPER team to do it and lynch/shanahn might believe they are good enough. So their history has shown you that especially at Qb that they’ll consider it. But let’s ignore the fact they gave up a high pick for Jimmy g then gave up even more picks for trey lance when they also had holes on their roster to fill. add on traded away picks for a RB cmc and OT Trent Williams.

You wanna know what I think the Niners do, I think either extend purdy or Aaron Rodgers/Kirk cousins is going to be the starter next year. If they sign one of those two, then gonna trade away Brock Purdy for a draft pick that has conditions on it that may become more (a 4th that may become a 2nd rounder). Then I think in the 3rd round they’re gonna try to draft the kid like Dillion out of Oregon. That’s the two scenarios of what I think the Niners gonna do. However if they absolutely love sanders/ward (who knows right now) that they make the attempt to try and trade up for a franchise changing Qb. they’ve shown in the past they would at QB.

Shaq Barrett to the Bucs

I just watched the Pickett scramble again and it is so ridiculous that they picked up that flag.  It was 100% clear that he made contact with Pickett's helmet.  More like a brush as most of the defender flew over Pickett but anything is enough.  Should have been a 15yd personal foul.

Knee looked like it made clear contact after the forearm missed.

It’d be hilarious if he came back and then they were eliminated from the playoffs this weekend. Possible if falcons win and panthers upset them (nearly did a couple weeks ago)

What a loser. Damn it

The Eagles didn’t want him given the emergence of Jalyx Hunt.

Biggest concern is what they are doing at the future of QB position. They have nothing in place after 2025. I can fix the oline with FA and drafting guys 2-7 rounds. They literally either have Brock going forward or nothing. Having my franchise Qb settled going forward is huge especially if they love sanders/ward and believe he can be their guy for next decade.

Any GM with an IQ above room temp would look at that roster and know that a reset is needed.  No OL, CMC can’t be counted on, Deebo is CTEBrown 2.0 in the making, Ayuik coming off injury, age and injury issues on the other side.  Going all in on either of those solid but unspectacular prospects would be career suicide.

Pretty much. They probably won't even make the playoffs

Seriously. All that just to sign with a team not even guaranteed a playoff spot? What a dud of a story.

I am not saying Sanders or ward are worthy of doing that. What I have said is the Niners have nothing at the position if they don’t go forward with purdy. which is a bigger concern for almost any franchise. They have also shown you in the past they are willing to give up the draft capital if they believe a quarterback can be a franchise changer for the franchise. They gave up a high round pick for Jimmy G. Then after gave up even more picks for Trey Lance, who was far less proven in college and more red flags. Can say the Niners were in better spots roster wise at that point, but they have given up picks when they believe players are worthy of that value to the franchise particularly at Qb.

again at the beginning of this conversation, I said a sleeper team to move up would be them. I didn’t say they were going to do it. I said they are a sleeper team to do it so i wouldn’t rule them out as i don’t think lynch and shanahan are going to be in the mindset they need a massive rebuild. Do i think it’s highly likely? No. but i also don’t rule it out.

Also don’t see lynch and shanahan thinking a year removed from a SB doing a complete rebuild. Right or wrong, i dont see them thinking that

From what I remember the first replay showed the hit because it was a longer replay. The 2nd was shorter and didn’t

I was never giving it much hope… The guy obviously just wanted to stay in the state of Florida

CJGJ 2024 is a much, much better Safety than CJGJ 2022.  He has clearly shown he is able to change/evolve.

The one to maybe keep an eye out for would be Calais Campbell given he can play inside, but even him I’d say is unlikely with Hunt playing well and Huff coming back.

he hasn’t been released yet though

Dolphins said they wouldn’t release him until they were eliminated which might not come til week 18
