Makes it worse for raiders they won a meaningless game against the jags last week. Should’ve really just played Ridder and tanked out. That way you have your choice of sanders or cam Ward. Now sitting at 6 instead of 1. So likely gonna have to trade up unless teams ahead of then like giants, jags, titans, pats and cleveland win. At least they have the jags facing the titans this week so one will win (unless it ends in a tie, which frankly benefits them more). Cleveland is very unlikely to beat Miami (playing for playoff lives) and ravens in Baltimore that needs to win to win the division. Giants are not winning as they are full tank mode. Maybe the chargers charger it and New England wins. Might get a win from the pats since bills have nothing to play for week 18.

There's a decent shot that Deion makes it clear that Shadeur will only play for the Raiders and scare the Titans and Browns off. The Pats have Maye, and the Jags are stuck with Lawrence after giving him that horrible contract. I am thinking Giants go Ward, and Sanders falls to LV because he makes clear he won't sign with Tennessee or Cleveland.

Shaping up to be a pretty solid class with him, Nix, and Daniels

I have been calling bust on Caleb since before the draft, and nothing this year has changed my mind. He makes some wow plays, but he relies on his athleticism to make plays and that won't work in the NFL. Hell, it didn't work at USC when they played real opponents. I'm also not a fan of Daniels as I just don't see him holding up at that size.

Maye is the best of the bunch, IMO.

Is practicing a requirement to get out of the protocol? I thought that getting out of the protocol was a requirement to practice. I'm not too concerned about him missing the entire week of practice if that's not a requirement for the protocol, though.

Yes, it is. It’s different phases.

Phase 1 is limited activity

Phase 2 is aerobic exercise

Phase 3 is football specific exercise (this could be limited practice)

Phase 4 is non contact football training drills (full practice)

Phase 5 is clearance from the independent doctor a day after practicing

Considering he hasn’t even been at practice, either he hasn’t gotten to Phase 3 or the Eagles decided to proceed with more caution and gradually bring him back. Either way, there’s just not enough time to get cleared at this point.

Look at Sydney Brown for an example. He was put in the protocol against the Steelers. Following Wednesday he was DNP, Thursday he was LP and Friday was FP but still questionable to play. Saturday he was upgraded to no designation because he passed Phase 5 and played the next day.

The bears and franchise QBs?

Hey! They had the greatest "who gives a ish” QB to ever play in Jay Cutler at one point

Do the Eagles practice or have a walk through Saturdays? Would him going through a walkthrough suffice?

They usually do not. I don't think the Xmas schedule would change that.

Nope. Don’t think it’s allowed. They only get 3 practices a week anyway and already did a Walkthrough Tuesday and then practice Thursday and Friday.

Frankly i wouldn’t be surprised if the giants take sanders. Like you i see Mara taking ward but i could see a scenario where they go sanders. I’m guessing Deion wants him in NY or Vegas. I think a sleeper team in this, is San Francisco, who is currently sitting at 11 (might finish 10th). might not pay Brock Purdy and they might just say we have a roster good enough where we can jump up to go and get Sanders. I think lynch is that type of GM that would take that shot and risk. He did it with a less proven Trey Lance

Could very well be a real tough game Sunday if the Cowboys show up.  I would think Pickett will look better with a full week to prepare and a game plan that is tailored to his skills.  Naturally, we will want to run but Pickett is going to need to throw a good bit lest we get seven men in the box play after play.  The key will be to limit mistakes and have the D show up.

Lamb being out certainly helps

Actually the greatest "who gives a ish” QB could’ve been another Bear…Jim McMahon.  That guy used to taunt the NFL Commissioner Pete Rozelle…

If so, he is doing Tennessee and Cleveland a huge favor giving them an excuse to pass on a wildly over rated qb prospect

Newton also had zero heart. That was his biggest issue.

Allen is like Vick but stronger. If Vick had actually applied himself to learning the game earlier in his career...he's the greatest "what if" in QB history.

Cam also had way too many hits in his career

I'd much rather draft Ward

There have been a bunch of people already connecting the NYG and Ward, but obviously things could change.

Would Lynch really mortgage it all again after striking out so badly with Lance? They got so lucky with Purdy. I wouldn't pay Purdy $50-60mm a year, but I'd rather sign Darnold or even Rodgers than give up multiple 1sts for Sanders. To be fair, I am not a big fan of Sanders.

Got it. So he will be marked out any minute now.

I mean...no. If our defense can't handle the Cowboys without Lamb and Prescott, then we have issues.

Yeah, teams are drafting his last name

It’s not officially confirmed but it’s impossible at this stage. He has to go through a practice to get cleared and tomorrow is the deadline. He hasn’t practiced all week and wasn’t at practice today so just put 2 and 2 together.

I did.

I got 22.   Now what?

Gotta practice (no contact) and come out symptom free... plus a bunch of other markers along the way.

Agree, but Milroe could become the best of the bunch. I could be wrong, but this isn't a year I'd want to draft a QB top 10 because they all feel like a reach.

No, you get 4. There are 4 quarters in football. A quarter is worth 25 cents. If there are 4 quarters that equals to 1 which is Hurts. It’s simple math.

Tbh I think Sanders is a far more accomplished prospect than what Trey Lance was. He’s played at a high-level football and had success at that level Trey Lance because of the 2021 draft really didn’t play all that many games the year prior to being drafted (1 game) at North Dakota State. I think they’re two totally different prospects in terms of where they are in their careers and where they were in development. For the Niners, I don’t think they rule it out cause of Lance. That 2021 draft was weird in the sense he didn’t play all that much in 2020 and less scouting on his performance due to that his last year so basically going off 2019 games. Think Lance was way more high risk. Not that sanders isn’t a risk cause all QBs drafted are. i just don’t see him close to the level of risk they made with lance in 2020. Imo it was absurd what they gave up for Lance considering his background at playing Qb

Frankly, with how many guys of 49ers are paying, I think they would prefer to have a rookie contract and hope to hit then having to pay Sam Darnold, Aaron Rodgers or Brock Purdy. all three of those guys might be overpaid and not worth their value next year and going in the future. IMO I think the Vikings are going to franchise tag Sam darnold. So you’re gonna have to give up something to acquire him and then he has the leverage of having to pay him.
