Guys wanna talk about the Lamar falloff when he can't run as well, but the Josh Allen falloff might come sooner when those hits finally catch up to him. Will be like Cam Newton but not as bad.

Allen has a ridiculous weapon attached to his shoulder that neither Jackson nor Newton have/had.   His arm is ridiculous.  So, if he learned how to QB more efficiently, he could maintain a level of excellence longer than those two.  Newton's leg AND shoulder went at the same time.   We'll see what happens with Allen and Jackson.

So watching the Bears last night and how horribly coached they were made me think about Sirianni's job status and potential scenarios. I want to throw out a few scenarios and we'll call this game 'Will Sirianni Keep His Job If?' Give me keeps his job, doesn't keep his job for each.

Scenario 1: The Eagles win out, finish 14-3, but lose in the wildcard round in ugly fashion.

Scenario 2: The Eagles make the NFC Championship game, but lose because of a coaching blunder. Like bad clock or timeout management

Scenario 3: The Eagles blow the division, win the wildcard round, lose in the divisional round.

Obvious ones where he obviously keeps his job not included.

If we don't win the Superbowl he's fired

Eagles have an interesting roster decision to make with QB this week. They currently don’t have a third emergency QB. They signed Book to the PS but by rule the third has to be on the active roster. It wouldn’t make sense to open a roster spot for Book (assuming Hurts is only missing one game). It would also be a little risky to go into a game with just two QBs when one is banged up with bruised or cracked ribs. My guess is they just elevate Book for one game but have to treat him as a normal active player and have to make an additional inactive.

They are probably going to sit out Shipley this week.  Will they elevate another RB also?

The defense should be pissed after last week, and playing against Cowboys with no Dak or Lamb they should be able to control the game and keep them off the field.

The offense just needs to eat clock with the run and simplify the passes for Pickett. Keep the threat of the WRs just enough so they don't only focus on stopping the run. Screens to Barkley would help too.

Is Hurts definitely out on Sunday?

Don’t think it is definite but Sirianni has pretty much confirmed it.

Today he has?  I’m assuming he didn’t practice then…or don’t we know that yet?

Sirianni said he’s still in the concussion protocol so it’s going to be hard for him to be cleared and ready to go Sunday.

lol the raiders firing Pierce a year after giving him the HC job

I've lost track of how many coaches they've had the last ten years.

And that's after Maxx Crosby threatened to request a trade if they didn't promote him. I'm pretty sure other players said similar things too. I wonder if Crosby will follow through, since it's almost a certainty Pierce will be fired.

It’s not officially confirmed but it’s impossible at this stage. He has to go through a practice to get cleared and tomorrow is the deadline. He hasn’t practiced all week and wasn’t at practice today so just put 2 and 2 together.

Makes it worse for raiders they won a meaningless game against the jags last week. Should’ve really just played Ridder and tanked out. That way you have your choice of sanders or cam Ward. Now sitting at 6 instead of 1. So likely gonna have to trade up unless teams ahead of then like giants, jags, titans, pats and cleveland win. At least they have the jags facing the titans this week so one will win (unless it ends in a tie, which frankly benefits them more). Cleveland is very unlikely to beat Miami (playing for playoff lives) and ravens in Baltimore that needs to win to win the division. Giants are not winning as they are full tank mode. Maybe the chargers charger it and New England wins. Might get a win from the pats since bills have nothing to play for week 18.

Believe Crosby on a podcast recently came out and said he wants to win and been rumors the raiders might trade him. It would be nuts if Crosby and Garrett both hit the trade market this offseason. I really wouldn’t be surprised if one of them did.

Could very well be a real tough game Sunday if the Cowboys show up.  I would think Pickett will look better with a full week to prepare and a game plan that is tailored to his skills.  Naturally, we will want to run but Pickett is going to need to throw a good bit lest we get seven men in the box play after play.  The key will be to limit mistakes and have the D show up.

If I’m the Cowboys, I do the same defensive philosophy that the commanders did in the second half. I sell out on the run and force Kenny Pickett to have to beat me. It is going to be raining, so that plan makes a lot more sense for them. So you’re probably gonna get opportunities with Smith and AJ Brown in ideal coverages/one on ones where you have a chance to really beat the Cowboys. So it’s gonna come down to whether or not Kenny Pickett can throw it in the rain and get it to those guys.

To be fair we’ve been saying that about Allen for years now.

I think he’s safe after getting 14 wins and making the playoffs again

The passing game isn’t what Lurie likely wants but we’re in the playoffs so he’s probably fine with it all

I agree Pickett will need to take some shots and hit a couple.

Is practicing a requirement to get out of the protocol? I thought that getting out of the protocol was a requirement to practice. I'm not too concerned about him missing the entire week of practice if that's not a requirement for the protocol, though.

Today's local weather reports say rain won't arrive til after the game, maybe late 4th quarter.

Newton also had zero heart. That was his biggest issue.

Allen is like Vick but stronger. If Vick had actually applied himself to learning the game earlier in his career...he's the greatest "what if" in QB history.

have to practice to clear.
