If Hurts had a competent OC he would have 6,000 yards passing and 50 TDs easily. Also, he would not be a good fit for McVay or Shanahan who like QBs that can pass over the middle

He could definitely have more passing yards, but 6000, easily? 5k+ has only been done 10x. The top three qb’s that did it were P Manning, Warner, and Brees. Brady is 4th with the Bucs, and Mahomes is somewhere around 7th or 8th. I think for him to be able to do that (it is possible with 17 games now) would be to completely change the way he plays the game. Hurts is risk averse, he doesn’t like to make a lot of tight window throws, and as has already been mentioned he doesn’t attack the middle of the field, not that that’s his fault, it’s the offense he plays in. Could he become a D Brees style QB? I just don’t think that’s his game. His best production passing the ball in a single season was in college at OU, he threw for like 3900 yds in fewer games than the NFL plays.

Did you watch this one? Joel was a negative almost every time he had the ball. VJ was the complete opposite.

You are right that the Steichen offense looked better. The issue is that the QB has directly told you prior to this season that after losing the super bowl in, he no longer wants to play that style of football.

Hurts passed the ball exceptionally well in that game. He had the fumble that arguably cost them the game and now he is telling you he does not want to "open it up".

Since then, every OC has run an offense that looks similar to the trash we see today. Even OCs that we know are capable of better like Moore.

People blame Siri for being too turn over averse. Hurts has clearly told us that its Hurt's offense. Its how Hurts wants it to look. And that Hurts does not want to run that 2022 offense because "It didnt get me the win."

This is all 99.9% on Hurts. He has told us as much, repeatedly. Your one good season is an outlier, and Hurts directly told you he does not want to play that way anymore. Bu the way, remember that this quote came PRIOR to this season with Patullo beginning. So there was nothing to throw under the bus as the disaster offense had not been seen yet. Its not Hurts protecting his OC. Its Hurts telling you that he has no interest in throwing the football.

How much credence are we really putting into that it is Hurts calling the shots on the offensive philosophy? Hurts is surgical in his press conferences and his quote you mentioned earlier was him answering a question coming off of Saquon rushing for 2,000 yards and winning a Super Bowl. He’s not going to say "Yeah, I need to take control more and juice my passing numbers. It needs to be about my performance more”. Everyone knows he’s not that guy.

The passing game under Moore last year, at least statistically, wasn’t that much different than this year with KP but they did not have these awful stretches where they look worse than a high school offense. Clearly, the motive this season was to ride Saquon and the run game, but that hasn’t worked because the offensive line has been a mess and they’ve seen a significant regression with Jurgens, Dickerson, and Lane missing games.

Everyone knows the stats on the percentage of hitch routes they’ve run this season, the one and two man routes that they run that are dead to rights, the personnel packaging, etc. All of that falls on Patullo, Nick, or whoever is designing those plays. I don’t think Hurts is coming up with those designs. He has shown that he is more than competent enough of a QB when he has an OC that comes from outside the Nick tree drawing up concepts.

@e-a-g-l-e-s eagles! I don't know if she will be any good as an owner but she has spent her life preparing for this.

She is not a car dealer or a hedge fund guy who has a team as a hobby. She is not a Walton with a toy.

She has shown serious commitment to learning as much as she can about football and the NFL.

I hope she succeeds.

I think she’s likely gonna be fine. However, I look at that franchise, even if you keep Steichen there is a high likelihood the quarterback position is a need after 2026. I don’t expect Daniel Jones to be as consistent as he was this year coming off an Achilles. Trading away those first two round picks I felt was a mistake at the time they did it because I didn’t trust Daniel Jones to consistently play that way in 2026. The injury happened which makes it even worse now.

Imo it’s a harder sell to a potential GM not having those 2 1st rounders, question marks at Qb, a coach they may or may not want and the division is getting better as jags and Texans are Trending upward.

Would be cool if she did succeed, just keep her away from Jerry at the owners meetings and she’ll be fine.

If you dont like what you heard in that PC youll treat it like platitudes, but its telling that he specifically referenced the 2022/2023 offense and said "that didnt get me the win". You dont likely get in to specifics when just giving coach speak.

He could had just said, we will ride the hot hand and stick with Barkley.

But it was coming off a superbowl that he had just win with a good passing performance and under 100 yards for Barkley, and he went all the way back to the 1 actual good year of offense and said, nah... we arent doing that again. What you saw tonight, and what you saw in 2022 is not coming back.

By the way, in a previous season pre-dating Barkley, with some ugly offensive displays from this team, Hurts said the offense looks the way Hurts wants it to look.

Its a recurring theme with Hurts telling you he loves a crap passing game whether Barkley has been on the team or not.

So grateful that the moron who went to Utah showed himself to be Shedeur 2.0 and made VJ the clear and obvious pick.

It's like watching someone slowly off themselves and not even realize it. Just....sad at this point.

Edgecombe did not have a game winner in his career. Now, thats at least 2 this season already for the rookie. Ice cold.

Nice to see some VJ talk because the conversation was turning into another lame Hurts bashing session for the same people.

Also Embiid is not a winner. Really the former GM’s wife with the burner was right

I don't know how good the Sixers are, but they are fun to watch with the young guys.
