EMB Blog: 2025 Regular Season (Part 2) ... and Playoffs

People just dont pay attention blaming not "opening it up" on Siri. This was Hurts' quote on not opening it up, which he stated before the season in July after the super bowl win where he passed well.

Jalen Hurts on if he will "open up” his play-style more now that he’s won a SB: "No. I’ve went a very long time being told I gotta do it a certain type of way. That didn’t get me the win, when I did it how everyone told me to.. When you put so much energy into [personal] performance, you kinda lose sight of the main thing of winning. Since the loss in 2022, it’s been my main motivation to find ways to win, regardless of how it looks.. I just want to find ways to win, and that’s the mentality I want this team to have.”

If the Bobs asked him what he does here Nick would say I am good with vibes. He honestly doesn't do anything worth keeping. Vic and Howie won him a SB.

I’d say stoutland is up there he identified, developed mailata and helped Becton play his best football of his career by identifying him and switching him to guard

Hurts, Hurts, Hurts!

Hurts has 33 TDs this year with the worst OC - HC offensive combo in NFL History.

Anyone can be a bad coach but to be this bad with these players takes real stupidity.

His line is awful.

His 35 million dollar WR quits on plays or gives 80% effort. (dropped or quit on 4 TDs)

His 28 million dollar WR gets the dropsies.

His TE gets the dropsies.

His teammates commit stupid penalties to negate another 4 to 6 TDs.

He throws good to perfect passes to the end zone that should get PI and the refs cheat.

Sure he had 5 turnovers in a game but that is only 1 loss. He has 5 turnovers total in the other 15 games.

You don't get to say turnovers are bad for one game and then also think no turnovers is bad the rest of the year.

The Denver all 22 is there.

Hurts was amazing and he lost about 200 yards of offense to teammate, coaching, and ref incompetence

Pushing 500 yards of offense vs a top 3 defense with this coaching staff? Just incredible.

Denying this is some flat earth level BS.

Its funny how all the POOR BABY! Joe Burrow lickers know how hard it has been in all aspects for Hurts this year and they can't even give him credit for the TDs and the wins.

Just saw Trevon Diggs got released, any chance Eagles can get him? Heard is healthy to play.... Would be huge if we can get him for the Playoffs.

Diggs has always been dreadful. If the QB knows how to pump-fake him, or simply throw over his head, he’s a net negative player. Against bad QBs he looks much better because he has ball skills, but he’s completely boom and bust, which is not good for a CB.

So if your qb is the least prolific passer in the nfl…?

Jalen Hurts has his most passing TDs in a season under Patullo with 1 game to go.

He cant be that bad as far as Hurts numbers, right?

If Hurts had a great offensive mind, like a McVay or Shanahan, is he throwing for 5K and 45-50 TDs? Just talking passing TDs because I think as he gets older he will run less and less.

My guess would be Andre Sam for the game. Patrick Johnson doesn't seem necessary with all the LBs they have that can play. Still seems like a risk for Sam but it worked I suppose

It still would be really dumb if the plan was cut the LS so you can sign Sam for the last game and then be forced to elevate the LS every game from here on out. Like you mentioned before, it should be Dillon if that was the plan. He’s never going to get elevated unless they have a ton of RB injuries and his salary his guaranteed anyway.

Look at his great numbers right now with the so called worst OC and HC in NFL history.

I think he throws for at least 6,000 yards and 55 TDs. Siri, Patullo and even Steichen and Moore have been holding him back all these years.

Huge for the teams we play against?

This isn’t anything against Jalen hurts, but currently in the NFL through 17 weeks there is only one quarterback with 40+ touchdown passing and it’s Matt Stafford. Goff has 33 passing tds. The closest to Stafford in total tds is Allen with 39. Josh Allen last year as an mvp had 43 total.

Imo i think hurts could get to 30-35 passing TD range. And close to 40-43 total. I think if we are asking for 45-50 passing tds it’s highly unlikely even with mcvay. Mcvay didn’t even get close to that from Goff and Stafford having a career year is still under 45 for the moment.

He can not run those offense you are talking about. Which is why when we brought Kellen Moore in and expected all of that fancy motion stuff, suddenly, Moore's offense lacked much of it and Hurts still couldnt pass well. He would look worse than ever. Siri has developed a high school offense to make Hurts look as good as he possibly can.

If they choose to keep him then they're destined to fail

And even if they planned on playing Dillon this week I don’t think he’s getting claimed by anyone

Can Acho ever just STFU? In a span of a month it’s a video of how this offensive change will lead Eagles to the SB, to Hurts sucks and was worse than he looked, to Patullo sucks and Hurts is fine.

Most of the things you listed are normal (i.e. every team has dropped passes during the season).

Weird that you said, "Anyone can be a bad coach but to be this bad with these players takes real stupidity." Then you followed that up by ripping all the players except Hurts. So ... which is it?

IMO, Jalen is a top 10 QB that has an offense that does what he wants to do. Sometimes it can be amazing. Sometimes it's stagnant. It comes down to player execution --- it is a team sport after all. You can blame the coaches all you want, but most coaches are going to force Jalen to run their system, but Sirianni has designed the offense for Jalen Hurts. It really makes no difference who the OC is because his job will be to do what we've been doing the last 5 seasons. There isn't going to be any fresh, new anything. The difference year to year will come down to execution. The offense does work if the players do their jobs.

Meh,, I would still take him over Adoree though..

Change on scenery from the Dallas circus and being in the playoffs would motivate him to bring his best out I feel..

Absolutely not. Hurts game is not what McVay or Shanahan would want for their offense.

Tbh adoree has actually been fine lately. I’d like an upgrade but asking diggs to learn an entirely new defense by the start of the playoffs is unlikely and him playing well in it trying to learn it is unlikely

Frankly the odds anyone throws for 45+ tds is slim. In the entire history of the nfl it’s only happened 8 times. Stafford might be the 9th if he lights up the cardinals

5K and 50 TDs is an exaggeration on my part. Just saying alot more than he currently does. He's thrown for 25 pass TDs this year, which is his career high. Is it reasonable to say he could throw for 40 under McVay? Stafford has 42 this year.
