Brown is a heat seeking missle but unfortunately it's locked onto friendly fire mode. Glad he got traded before he took out more players :)

I can hear it now, the Philadelphia Eagles will be trading anyone named Brown from the roster. AJ is now a lock to be traded.

Howie creating more cap space. That's why I never worry about who we want to sign later on and such. The core assessment can change from year to year.  It's a good problem to have. He needs to field the best team he can THIS YEAR. Don't do what he did last year with leaving the team to too many unknown guys all at one time on a Superbowl contender in way too many positions.

Okay did a little homework. The Vikings received a 3rd round draft compensation for the Sam Darnold 1 year/$10M Contract he received from Seahawks in free agency. So I can easily see that offer for McKee in free agency. Now just to receive a 4th rounder a QB has to average 5M-8M  APY. Unless McKee falls flat on his face this year with any opportunities, we can realistically secure a 3rd/4th rounder. I am still feeling a 3rd rounder here. We will have to wait and watch. I am sure there are alot of variables here in determining compensation and don't profess to be an expert on this. I like the idea mentioned above by T-1000 as a conditional 2nd round pick, as what sounds interesting here.

You may have missed something.…

Darnold got 3y 100m (33m/y) from the Seahawks to give the Vikings that 3rd round pick. The 1y/10m is the deal he signed in Minnesota for, in which would have given the rams a later round comp pick had they not signed free agents to cancel it outs

It’s probably around 23-25m or more McKee would have to sign for to get us a 3rd comp pick. At 10m$ as a backup that’s probably a 5th or 6th rounder, IF Howie doesn’t sign any free agents.

A non AJ "Brown" trade!

Surprised we didnt have to pay Atl to take him

I'm surprised we got anything for Sydney Brown. He is God awful. It's a scenario of  "Good deal. Who did we get?"

Agreed. My initial thought was "that's not very much," then I immediately realized the fact that we got anything for him is pretty surprising. Brown is a pretty good ST'er but he is quite possibly one of the worst safeties in the NFL. What a god awful pick that was by Howie.

Also as much as I am glad Brown is gone (and at the risk of being a broken record), Howie might want to think about adding a safety or two.

Getting anything for Brown is a win. And not pretending he's in the safety competition is a bigger win. There's obviously a plan there

Tbh I wouldn’t be shocked if the Eagles traded for a safety on a rookie contract in an organization that changed their coach/front office. I just don’t know who that would be.

It definitely feels like the Eagles view one of their CBs as a S

More important than Brown being gone and moving up 8 spots in the 4th and 18 in the 6th, the number 21 is now available which is top notch. Guessing Woolen goes with 21 now.

We are going to get Kevin Byard back in an AJ Brown trade

Could've had former teammate Jaquon Brisker for next to nothing.

Okay I read that wrong when looking that up. I think 4th rounder at this point is a fair projection. I'll be surpised if someone doesn't give him a starting gig. He would have to **** the bed this year. Only older retreads will be available in free agency next off-season. Should be the usual 8-10 bad teams looking for an upgrade next season who have money to spend.

Right, I saw the first line of trade and was like oh, who?!

Imagine if it said Eagles sending Brown to the Falcons then realizing it's just Sydney.

Yeah because he wasn’t initially a day 1 or 2 pick with big potential or has a ton of impressive starting experience, a 4th rounder would be a nice return for him. People here are way overvaluing a guy who did good against the Giants that one time

Yup. Agreed I see a trade here and a high pick. Need 2 safeties. Makuba is a question mark coming in next year.

I totally agree. There's just not much info on him. But I'm willing to wait more time here.

Perhaps the speculation about Michael Carter moving to safety is true. But they obviously have some type of plan since they're thin there, and you have to think the chances they draft a safety (already assumed) are even higher.

Keeping him and Dalton isn’t a bad idea at all. No team has benefited from backup QBs over the last 20 years more than us. I’d much rather have too May than too few

There was a 0% chance he wins the other safety stop next to Mukman

So his only real value was special teams, where he gets a crazy amount of brain dead penalties. We saved 1.5m in cap and gained some draft slots. I’m not missing him

Incredible to get anything for Brown. He stinks.
