I'm sure whoever Howie picks, he'll frame it as BPA. But in terms of hard lessons learned:

Derek Barnett -> weighing production far ahead of traits

Jalen Reagor -> weighing traits far ahead of production

Marcus Smith -> picking for need, being passive vs trading up

Andre Dillard -> caveat emptor on some falling players

Sidney Jones -> caveat emptor taking the injury discount

Danny Watkins -> making sure guys like football and will older players look as good at the next level

Reagor was NOT a traits pick. He was small, terrible agility with mediocre speed. If anything, he's a lesson in favor of measured quantifiable athleticism over film speed:

Which NFC East team had the most athletic draft class according to RAS?

Here’s something that’s bothered me for awhile: yet again there are only about 15 players in this draft worthy of first round grades as per consensus grading systems. A little lower than last year, while the typical draft is in that 15-20 range. I do not remember a draft where there was anything close to 30 first round grades

Philosophically speaking, Why does this make sense to everyone else? It means every single year a huge amount of 2nd round graded players are going in the first. Shouldn’t it be slightly expanded/adjusted if it continually comes short this consistently?

A first-round pick, philosophically speaking, is supposed to be a plug and play high level starter. So it makes sense that there are only 15 or so guys per year which reach that threshold. Most players have some significant question mark, be it physical, intangible, or injury related.

Yeah, I don’t think she’s getting fired for just holding hands. Obviously they have more info than we do. The liability that you’re talking about is essentially zero. It’s about her credibility now damaging their credibility.

I have a journalism degree. I worked for newspapers. I ran sports departments. I had to work with HR during hiring and firings (nothing like this to be fair). I promise what she’s been accused of (and likely discovered early in this investigation) is a fireable offense without hesitation. Russini knows that, which is why she resigned on the flimsiest excuse ever. You’re just wrong here.

Yeah, I agree.

Plus, I'm assuming she turned in an expense report to get reimbursed for flight, hotel, and meal expenses. I'm thinking just the expense report — by itself — justified her being fired. There isn't a company on the planet that wouldn't fire her for this. They reimburse you for legitimate business expenses, not for having a fling with someone.

And if she didn't turn in an expense report, it would make her look even more guilty. What is she hiding?

My hope is that someone Houston really wants falls to 23 and they give us 28 and 38 for 23 and 54.

2nd option would be 33 and 44 from the Jets to move back into 1st round to get Ty Simpson for picks 23 and 68

I hope we package it with AJ for something big like Dex

Fangio can make 2 NT work

A top 15 pick can be described as that, but if there are consistently always 32 first round players while never having 32 guys who fit that mold then the definition needs to be expanded

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame haven't had any credibility in a very long time. They've been tossing artists like The Jackson Five, Johnny Cash, and Dolly Parton in there for decades. Very, very minimal impact to the rock genre from any of those artists (could MAYBE argue for Cash).

They just induct artists from different genres to try to bring attention to it. I'm pretty sure country, R&B, soul, etc. all have their own HOF.

Well to be fair, all of those artists listed were in genre's that helped form rock and roll, and those same artists often incorporated rock into their music. Seeing as R&R is a fusion of genre's, it's probably why you get inductions from so many various artists/bands.

I'd prefer it if there was just one HoF for all music genres. With that said, a lot of it is just based on popularity anyway, and a lot of artists get overlooked

TV gif. Anthony Anderson as Andre in Blackish stares down at us, eyebrows furrowed as he slowly mouths the word, "Damn."

She was an on one yesterday about Russini. Suggesting she didn't need to sleep with people to get stories.

He's definitely drafted to take the top off, that's the trait they wanted.

The problem with your RAS approach at WR is that you might miss out on route running and hands, obviously what's between the ears is often in the blind.

There aren't consistently 32 picks though. The NFL started with 14 teams. In most of our lives we've seen at least 3 teams added. Some of the older posters in here have seen 5 or even 8 teams added.

I think we will continue to see a relatively low number of first round grades until football becomes more popular internationally. That will probably take a generation or more, but it's coming. You can already see an influx of a handful of raw high-level athletes each year switching sports because, aside from soccer, potential earnings in the NFL dwarf most other international sports. I think the Rugby to NFL pipeline in particular is really going to accelerate because the word is out that you can earn orders of magnitude more money. For instance, the highest paid Rugby players in the world earn just a little over $1 million per year. The last pick in the NFL draft earns almost as much...

Two more points in the first period with a couple of primary assists. Michlov is now up to 12 pts over his last 10 games and 19 over his last 20. He just continues to "do nothing well." Keep lodging your foot down your throat ya FN dope.

He has turned it on as of late. Let’s hope he continues this level of play and can limit his turnovers going forward. He needs to become much faster over the off season to actually become an 80 ppg player. Guess we will find out.

He was drafted to take the top off but he didn't have the traits to actually do it. He was quite obviously not a traits pick. He was a film pick. He got deep in college. It didn't translate because he had college speed, not NFL speed.

No he doesn’t disagree. This is essentially what I’m saying. Labels and ‘radio’ began slowly losing their true influence when CD’s hit the market. Once the pirating golden days hit, they completely lost it and pivoted to a more gullible and controllable product. Rock is probably in the best place it’s been since the early 70’s.

The majority is typically silent…as he said the biggest ticket is still rock (and its sphere). There’s always going to be a brain dead portion of the population feeding the machine money though. Look at Disney through the same lense.

I think his point is different there. If Rock as a genre had the same level of top down push vs organic concert footfall, then it could largely rehit the mainstream again; its just not been a priority for record companies vs slop rap and the blander mainstream. Which is why the rap genre has lost some steam recently people are getting bored with it.

Funnily enough, Noel Gallagher makes a similar point about Rock when promoting his last single album. Its harder to be a Rock band nowadays and get airplay

It's also stupid. It's like they still want the aesthetic of Redskins with the name of Commanders. There's nothing "Commanderish" about an arrow piercing its target. They should have changed the name of the team to something in the same realm of Redskins. Commanders is such a stupid Fing name.

Commanders is a dumb name for sure. They should have just gone with Warriors.

End the mummer's farce and just go get Tyson. Blue chip player at a premium position. Tyson at 19 in a slight move up would be better than Iheanachor at 23. Trade AJ in June, get your 1st+ in 2027 and then go get your OT next year where you'll have more flexibility.

While I'm more bullish then you on this OT class, taking Freeling in top-15 seems pretty wild. Most years they're freakier guys with a similar amount of experience going in the late teens.

I'll take him at 23. Not moving up. Not quite blue chip. Likely high end WR2 peak.

Just read that the Red Wings have the longest non-playoff streak in the NHL - 10 years. Blew my mind.

Before that they had a 26 season playoff streak. Within that they had a 19-year streak of 1st or 2nd in their division and four Stanley Cups - Yzerman and Lindstrom.
