From the outside looking in, we really don't know what "fits" are anymore for this offense. OL, WR, TE...QB. They have to draft accordingly.Packers hadSpeed guy- WatkinsMove guy- ReedInside outside quick guy- GoldenInside outside stronger guy- Doubs/WicksDeVonta can fit the Golden, or the Reed role.Hollywood fits the speed guy but theyd probably like to upgrade. He can also fit the Golden role. Again, this role can be upgraded. They brought in Wicks for the disappointing Doubs/Wicks role.Depending on where you slot some of those guys, we have a few roles open, but there is flexibility. Because the guys we do have can do more than one of those roles. So we can take a move guy, a speed guy, or an inside/outside quick guy.All of GBs WRs played at least 20% of their snaps from the slot. Notable how much they all travel. But, thats hard for us to scout. Just because a guy played mostly in the slot in college doesnt mean he cant do both (Justin Jefferson, etc....).

Like Doubs, he can beat press coverage and will block.Devonta will be the guy they move between slot and Z to get him the best looks/matchups. Hollywood is the deep threat. Maybe we draft Concepcion and he’s the speed receiver. The Packers have pretty much only used Reed as a slot. I’m not sure we want that kinda guy or we want to have three interchangeable players, but we definitely need at least one guy the coaches feel good about playing X and doing big boy stuff.

Basically, his same role, a role player like he was in Green Bay.

It was hard for him to build a rapport with 5 guys.

Conducting an orchestra with tons of targets is very much a cerebral veteran qb ask.Everyone knows that the best friend of a qb on the earlier end of their development curve is 1-2 do it all targets.

Thatll set them back potentially a few years till they give up on him, and then get it right sometime down the road. Not forcing, and taking defense as BPA when its obvious is the way to go.Indeed. Furthermore, better players can be traded if need be. To me, the Eagles don't have the luxury to hope their first pick can play, they have to know he can play.
Yesterday at 04:12 AM1 day With many other QBs, having a favorite target is praised. The announcers say he's going to "his guy" and call it a special connection. Most QBs throw majority to 2-3 receivers which includes TE. Other receiving options get limited targets. Peyton Manning mainly threw to his two great receivers Harrison and Wayne. Their other receivers got minimal touches. Same with Aikman to Irvin, Harper and Novacek. Others. Some teams spread the ball around more because they're all average to good receivers but not necessarily top talent. When you have two 1,000 yard receivers like Smitty & AJ plus a talent like Goedert at TE...and the best RB in football, of course there aren't many touches left for a WR3 (who is the 4th receiving option).

Yesterday at 11:47 AM1 day We are better off drafting 2 TEs in this class (RDs 2 to 4) than a WR at any point. In this scheme, we can carry 4 TEs and will be fine for 2026+. It's just not a great WR class. Denzel Boston!!! getting RD1 buzz is an alarm bell.
Yesterday at 11:53 AM1 day I just saw a DiBona draft that was pretty nice. It must have been a little old because he projected us to trade a 5th and Bennett for Wicks. But we got Thieneman round 1 with a trade up to 19, using a 3rd. Lawrence round 2. Hurst round 3. Forgetting rounds now but we doubled up at TE with Joly, and Boerkircher later. And Julian Neal at CB. The worst pick was I think he selected Burke, the memphis OT in round 4 which is too early. In all though, nice draft.
Yesterday at 12:13 PM1 day This guy reminds me of Josh Paschal. Theres not a lot of suddenness, but he wins with strength. He just decides he is going to occupy whichever gap he wants to. And then, he will power his way to the QB if its a pass play. Should be a really good run defender at minimum. Decent depth late in the draft if the team would want this type of player.

Dallas Clark too.

Productive receiver. Good size and speed. excellent PFF run blocking grade. How is his body control, vision, stopping, route running and hands and does he love ball?

Then coached some future NFLers in college such as Garrett Bolles. Carsen was a multisport athlete. Football has been his favorite sport since elementary school.StrengthsGood route speed.Catches the ball cleanly with his hands, focus doesnt wane in strideNatural body control in his routes and at the catch pointStrong and balanced as a runner. Open field tacklers often slide off his frame.Physical and smart with his inline blocking duties.Strong at the point but also maximizes body positioning to shield.Outstanding football toughness. (All he does is work, according to an NFL scout) Summary- Y TE. 59.6% of career snaps inline. He started college at UCLA, then 1 year at Utah, and then transferred to BYU to become more involved as a pass catcher. Urgent route runner, reliable hands, and some creativity after the catch. Quick and physical with inline duties to reach cut off or get outside defenders. Overall, Ryan is more coordinated than explosive and offers an appealing mix of pass-catching talent and blocking toughness. Regardless of where he is drafted, he has the type of talent that sticks on a roster and becomes valuable for an NFL offense.
