Yep I don’t even see Sweat as a real possibility at this point.

Carter and Garrett on the same line would have been awesome to see

The "zero chance" the Browns would want Carter is interesting

Good players and deep

Zero chance that they would have wanted Carter? That's not at all true. Carter has much more upside as a player than Verse and has been more productive. I can understand them not wanting Nolan Smith or Hunt over Verse. I think the Cleveland trade with the Rams has been in place for awhile. My guess is Howie knew on draft night they were not really in the running for Garrett. My guess is the price was probably Carter plus three picks. Howie wasn't willing to include Carter in the deal.

Or they didn’t want Carter and his character concerns to be the main piece of the return. Verse might not have Carter’s upside, but he doesn’t have his downside either.

I would rather see them add a safety than another pass rusher.

The Browns being worried about character concerns would be a first.

I think Carter's character concerns are pretty overblown. I'm sure teams have them but I think they are unfounded. I think he has never been able to outlive the Georgia incident and I think that is unfair. The only things once he's been in the NFL were the spitting incident, which was a misunderstanding given he thought Prescott spit at him first. And a few times on the sideline where he talked trash and the coach had to calm him down. And he was late for a meeting or two, which happens to many players. Has he been the 99th percentile in terms of doing everything right in the NFL? No, but he isn't like 10th percentile either. Hell, not even like 30th. I'd say middle of the pack. He's been fine.

I think he came with a preconception about him because of the Georgia incident, it's why he fell in the draft, and everything he does now will be viewed in a more negative light because of that preconception, which is unfair. Although teams have a right to have those preconceptions. But I think the pick has been an overwhelming success, he's been a stud player, and I want him here for a very long time, and I am quite confident he will never be any type of a problem on or off the field.

They traded for a guy with ongoing sexual harassment allegations

I figured that would be the response, and I get it, but at some point even the Browns have their limits. When trading away Garrett, I think you want to mitigate the risk. I think they did well.

And how did it work out? Think that might have affected their risk management threshold?

Andrew Berry’s twin brother works for the Eagles. You think he might have some inside info on Carter?

No. That was years after they kept Garrett after he beat a guy with a helmet on the field lol

What would you and the other 31 NFL teams done with Garrett after that?

It's much more likely that Mary Kay messed up the wording in her tweet and she meant to put out that there was zero chance that the Eagles were offering Carter in return.

Most teams would cut him if he wasn't a generational player. The fact that most if not all teams would ignore it and still play him doesn't help your point about Browns caring about character concerns

Kind of feels like the browns might believe after the next 2 years with Stafford and then he retires that the rams Might deal him at that point. But they did copy what the cowboys did in the framework with parsons

Perfect. Just don't go to the games. Problem solved. 🤣

Woolen looks so stiff in most of the clips I’ve seen of him. I get he’s a bigger corner, but there is a natural clunkiness to his movements.

Last year CB2 was hot garbage. I'm glad Woolen is here.

Feels like the zero percent chance is a browns leak to justify taking the rams deal over potentially a deal for Carter

Counter counterpoint: Maybe it would have been three if you weren't!

Psssshhhh, just another actual player on record praising Hurts. No one cares about that.

More unnamed disgruntled sources please. 😄

People arguing like the Browns are a well run organization who make smart moves. They probably didn't want Carter because they are stupid.
