Andy Reid’s son who was an employee of the team drove drunk from the facility and nearly killed a 5 year old. Belichick was involved in different but multiple cheating scandals. Payton was involved with a bounty system and was suspended for a full year.Nothing came from any of those situations in regards to firing or stepping down. Vrabel’s story is far more tame and way less of a stain compared to the others. The only relevant example out of all of those is Belichik who, surprisingly, coached for the same dirt bag owner. Owners can't be fired. Completely irrelevant.Firing Reid for something his son did would be completely idiotic and uncalled for. For Payton's, the league is the one who doled out that punishment. The patriots don't care about optics, they've proven it already in the belichik years. The only thing they will shun someone for is murder (Aaron hernandez).Vrabel is a scumbag, new England doesnt care because they're owned by a scumbag. He will never be fired for this unless somehow it came out that there was tampering on the AJ brown trade

This game 1 was almost like a schedule loss.Frankly sixers bench is garbage especially if grimes is going to be this bad. Grimes was good in game 5 and outside of that he’s been terrible even in that stat padding game 4 where we lost by 30+

Dodged a bullet there last offseason.

Howie actually drafts really well these days and we can always trade picks for a vet if needed. That's without getting specific on who exactly the Patriots would be willing to include.
May 5May 5 The Knicks are deep but lack stars. The Sixers have stars but are not deep. In this game so far with the rest advantage the depth is more of an advantage than the stat power.

Bona clearly sucked. But we had Barlow looking like a find. Watford was supposed to be good. Both of those guys had early season triple doubles and then never came close to doing it again. And we had Grimes back who has never been close to resembling the scorer he was last year when he was ruining our lottery chances, scoring a ton with Maxey and McCain. Oh, and Justin Edwards finished the year looking promising and we thought maybe he would take the next step this year. He got exponentially worse some how instead. We have no one. We traded away our only good bench player because Nurse and Morey couldnt recognize his talent.
May 5May 5 Didn't have Sean Couturier (4th liner these days) being our best player in a playoff game on my Bingo card.
May 5May 5 If the Sixers lose this series the downside is Morey and Nurse(the worst GM/coach duo in the NBA) sadly bought themselves another season minimum. Morey can’t find depth to save his life dude somehow still hasn’t figured out how to get a viable big man backup for Embiid in 5+ years.

That tells me they’re not coming out ready to play and their coach is not having a game plan. Basically just pissing away games. At some point in time, you’re not gonna come back from getting your ass beat in 2 games when needing to win 4. Coming prepared to play and fighting from the opening tip in the playoffs shouldnt be this hard. You should not be getting your ass beat by 30 in almost half the games you play.
May 5May 5 Gotta hope Sixers get recharged here by Wednesday after they rest the starters in the 4th. Lacking the juice tonight as it was to be expected. This team somehow rebounds well off of blowout games like this. Just didn't have it tonight.

May 5May 5 IMO, football is the major pro sport with the smallest delta between regular season and postseason. What I mean by that…sure, the pressure is ramped up, but the game really isn’t played much differently. Probably a function of the short regular season and important regular season games.I feel like basketball, baseball, and hockey are all contested differently in the playoffs than regular season. Agree or disagree?

I’d take the picks.

To me Brunson is the best player and a star. Then at least 2 if not 3 of their next guys are better than anyone on the sixers not named Maxey or Embiid based on the player they are today.

He's a nice role player but he's not a franchise cornerstone. The Sixers have the top 3 players in this series. The problem is the Knicks might have the best 5 out of the next 6.

Him firing Vrabel over an affair would be laughably tone deaf and make him look completely stupid again years later.Payton’s punishment was given by the league. That doesn’t mean Ownership couldn’t have fired him for giving a huge black eye to the franchise. Especially when you consider the local public perception of it all. They aren’t going to fire a HC coach just went to the Super Bowl in May, 4 months before the season starts. It’s as simple as that. He would have to be involved in something illegal for that to ever happen.

May 5May 5 The Flyers got off to a great start with a 2-0 lead 4 minutes into the game, Vladar bailed them out time and time again for the next two and 3/4 periods, and they had a great overtime out shooting Carolina 15-8, but they still lost. They are completely outmatched and in over their heads and all of their weaknesses are rearing their ugly heads. For one thing, I love TK but if he is your best forward you aren't getting close to winning a cup. Hopefully Zegras, Martone, and Michkov become their best forwards over the next couple of years but if TK is on a cup winning team he might be the team's 3rd or 4th best forward. Dude had the game on his stick in overtime and not only did he not score, he missed the net by a mile which just can't happen. 1 goal in 8 playoff games isn't good enough either.Second, their center position is God awful. Dvorak is a nice player but he's a 3rd line center on a cup contending team. They can't seem to make up their mind if Zegras is a center or not. Cates is another nice player, but a 3rd line center on a contender. They DESPERATELY need to get a legit first or even second line center in the off-season. If they would just keep Zegras at center and quit screwing around with that they would have a really good 2nd and two really good 3rd line centers on the team. I mean, good luck competing against a Carolina in a 7 game series with Dvorak, Cates, and Barkey as your top three centers. On a side note but related to that I thought Tocchet's lines were trash tonight for that alone.Third, they really need another top four D. Sanheim is a great number 2 D but not a number 1. Risto has played well for the most part (bad turnover on the first goal) in the playoffs but he doesn't belong on a top pairing. Drysdale is also really coming along but he and York are basically the same guy (undersized second pairing guy who is decent but not really good offensively) except Drysdale is a better version of him so they become redundant.Lastly, their PP is an absolute joke. The biggest issue is that they don't have a stud D up top who can blast pucks through but the problems go WAY beyond that. I have never in all of my life seen a team full of guys more reluctant to shoot than this group. They overpass the puck way too much which at some point is a coaching issue. The team has made some player changes and brought in a new coaching staff but this is now like year three of having the worst PP in the league and something needs to change there. Had their PP even been average they probably win the game tonight.Carolina is definitely an absolute machine with their system but let's face it they just have a lot more talent than the Flyers, not to mention playoff experience. This season has been a massive success just making the playoffs and winning a round, a year ahead of schedule. They have serious work to do with this roster though if they are going to become a true contender. Yes, I am talking like the season is over because there is no way they are winning 4 out of 5 games against the Canes. They will honestly be lucky to win two games against them and it might not be the worst thing if they get swept or lose in 5 so Jones and Briere don't get caught up in the moment and realize just how far this team has to go to become a legit contender.
