This all seems like speculative drivel. Also, the muppet isn't a reporter.

It was. Olivia's part was painful, you can tell she was just making word salad to say really nothing besides "The Eagles would like a 1st and something else".

It would be great for a reporter to actually talk, coherently, about the cap implications of the trade and how it potentially frees up future space.

Bernard will be getting red shirted for 2026. Makes sense.

Do they still get some sort of pass with the final roster?

If Eagles get a 2nd rounder or even a 3rd rounder along with a 1st rounder and give up nothing else besides AJ Brown, I will not post for the rest of the offseason and will stay a lurker. Patriots are going to want some concessions here either in lower draft choices coming back, advantageous pick swaps or conditions on that 1st rounder. The one likely concession so far is that the New England pick has moved 2 years out. I think there's more than that.

I'd be surprised if they traded him in the NFC, but Schefter reported the Rams got closer than anyone earlier in the offseason. If GB is lurking, helps with leverage on NE.

I still think the deal, whatever it is, is largely agreed to since both teams acted that way in the draft.

What the owner has done? Get 1 GD rub and tug and people act like you killed somebody ffs

It's not like he was having an affair with another man's wife while being married himself ...... Kraft's wife had been dead for I think 3 years and AFAIK he didn't have any sort of committed relationship at the time. Cut the guy a break.

Pics?

Wasn't Kraft suspected to be a part of the $ex traffic ring?

I could definitely see some sort of deal where we get a 2nd next year and a 1st in ‘28 with the Eagles kicking back a conditional in ‘28. Perhaps a 4th if Brown and the Patriots have a big year but it gets upped to a 3rd if his production isn’t up to expectations or he gets hurt or something. I think that is reasonable for both sides.

All great points. Only counter argument i have is that this is like year 10 of their PP looking like crap. And it's been the same issue the entire time, always trying to make the extra pass instead of just shooting. I think the last time the PP looked good Scott hartnell and Brayden schenn were still on the team in that slot role

Off the top of my head the last time we had a good PP was with Giroux, Voracek, Simmonds, and Ghost.

And got legal recommendations from Epstein to beat the charges

That's a pretty solid move, especially this late in the offseason.

At this point I'm not expecting to get more than a first round pick for the diva and it's looking more like 2028 than 2027. If we can somehow get a 3rd in 2027, OR a half way decent player as well that is just a bonus. It could even be a situation where we get a 3rd but give up a 5th or 6th. There just isn't interest around the league beyond New England and as good at negotiating and getting great deals as Howie it's kind of tough when the other team knows they are bidding against themselves.

Yep, that would be an absolute home run for Howie. I'm preparing for JUST a 2028 first at this point. Anything more than that would just be gravy. Nobody wants the diva other than New England.

Honestly a 2028 1 could be a nice lottery ticket. There's a chance that entire organization implodes by then.

How I'm operating too. A 1st is great in any year. Anything else is fantastic.

I'd also be fine with just a first. You just essentially got 4 years of prime AJ Brown and won a SB for a 3rd round pick cost.

Yeah I've seen other people recently say a first isn't enough. I couldn't disagree more. There is literally one team in the league who wants him and they are bidding against themselves. The Eagles drafted Makai Lemon in the first round, traded for Wicks, and signed Hollywood. The dude wants out and it's the worst kept secret in the league. Howie isn't exactly dealing from a position of strength. Getting a first is really good, getting anything else in addition to that would be great.

Facts and logic don't bring clicks and ratings. The other thing you said does that:

Reporters have spent months writing, tweeting, podcasting and talking about it on each other's shows. Most people accepted it would not happen until after June 1st. They'll keep speculating all month about the trade value now that everyone's accepted a trade is happening. We'll find out after June 1st.

Something that doesn't get talked about with the discussion of a future 1st having less value and all that, and waiting 2 years before seeing it contribute...

Once Howie owns that pick, he can use it in a trade. It can be used to trade up in 2027 if needed. Or for a player. Who knows. But Howie likes assets.

In 2022, Eagles gave up pick 18 and 101 (very late 3rd round pick) for AJ. 4 years later, a declining and older AJ Brown is worth less than that. Having a hard time seeing them trade him for same compensation they gave up for him at this point. A 1st rounder, although 2 years away (could be in Top 20), would be a solid return. Still think Boutte may be in that deal and other moving parts going back. After everything, Howie and Eagles will feel relieved and be happy that this saga is over. Can't ask for a ransom in this deal.

Yep, and it's not like there is anything else to talk about right now when it comes to the NFL. This is that one little dead period for the NFL during the year between the draft ending and awaiting the start of training camp.
