He's a nice role player but he's not a franchise cornerstone. The Sixers have the top 3 players in this series. The problem is the Knicks might have the best 5 out of the next 6.We aren't in 2022. Laughable to suggest PG is better than Brunson today. So off the mark with how most people see the NBA.https://nbarankings.theringer.com/https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/nba-top-100-players-2025-26-season/

Then at least 2 if not 3 of their next guys are better than anyone on the sixers not named Maxey or Embiid based on the player they are today. It's absurd to say anything other than that Brunson is a star and the best player on that court. He scores with ease, he controls tempo, no one can guard him. He's very old school and there's a whole generation of fans now who are only impressed by dunks and flash. It's like he's not there for them.

He's so overrated as are all NY and LA players given the media is paid to overhype them to generate ratings. I mean he's a good player, but "star" is just crazy.

So what if he can’t jump out of the building? 27 points in the first half and he didn’t break a sweat. He controls the game like no other player. Bball isn’t just running fast and jumping high. You know whose game he reminds me of? Larry Bird.

If you point that out he would just say something weird like "that's what the media wants you to believe"

I think he was considered a draftable player if not for that. Not sure if this helps them in any way though, to get him back in the future when he is healthy.

If anything, he steps down but they aren’t going to fire a guy who’s been successful and they still have to pay for 3 or 4 years. What the owner has done? Get 1 GD rub and tug and people act like you killed somebody ffs

He had a knee injury in December. If it was some ligament tear, I can't see how he could have been medically cleared to participate in rookie camp.
May 5May 5 Jauan Jennings still unsigned. Would you have taken him over Wicks? Jauan Jennings is older than I thought he'll be 29 in July.

May 5May 5 12 hours ago, T-1000 said:The Flyers got off to a great start with a 2-0 lead 4 minutes into the game, Vladar bailed them out time and time again for the next two and 3/4 periods, and they had a great overtime out shooting Carolina 15-8, but they still lost. They are completely outmatched and in over their heads and all of their weaknesses are rearing their ugly heads. For one thing, I love TK but if he is your best forward you aren't getting close to winning a cup. Hopefully Zegras, Martone, and Michkov become their best forwards over the next couple of years but if TK is on a cup winning team he might be the team's 3rd or 4th best forward. Dude had the game on his stick in overtime and not only did he not score, he missed the net by a mile which just can't happen. 1 goal in 8 playoff games isn't good enough either.Second, their center position is God awful. Dvorak is a nice player but he's a 3rd line center on a cup contending team. They can't seem to make up their mind if Zegras is a center or not. Cates is another nice player, but a 3rd line center on a contender. They DESPERATELY need to get a legit first or even second line center in the off-season. If they would just keep Zegras at center and quit screwing around with that they would have a really good 2nd and two really good 3rd line centers on the team. I mean, good luck competing against a Carolina in a 7 game series with Dvorak, Cates, and Barkey as your top three centers. On a side note but related to that I thought Tocchet's lines were trash tonight for that alone.Third, they really need another top four D. Sanheim is a great number 2 D but not a number 1. Risto has played well for the most part (bad turnover on the first goal) in the playoffs but he doesn't belong on a top pairing. Drysdale is also really coming along but he and York are basically the same guy (undersized second pairing guy who is decent but not really good offensively) except Drysdale is a better version of him so they become redundant.Lastly, their PP is an absolute joke. The biggest issue is that they don't have a stud D up top who can blast pucks through but the problems go WAY beyond that. I have never in all of my life seen a team full of guys more reluctant to shoot than this group. They overpass the puck way too much which at some point is a coaching issue. The team has made some player changes and brought in a new coaching staff but this is now like year three of having the worst PP in the league and something needs to change there. Had their PP even been average they probably win the game tonight.Carolina is definitely an absolute machine with their system but let's face it they just have a lot more talent than the Flyers, not to mention playoff experience. This season has been a massive success just making the playoffs and winning a round, a year ahead of schedule. They have serious work to do with this roster though if they are going to become a true contender. Yes, I am talking like the season is over because there is no way they are winning 4 out of 5 games against the Canes. They will honestly be lucky to win two games against them and it might not be the worst thing if they get swept or lose in 5 so Jones and Briere don't get caught up in the moment and realize just how far this team has to go to become a legit contender. All great points. Only counter argument i have is that this is like year 10 of their PP looking like crap. And it's been the same issue the entire time, always trying to make the extra pass instead of just shooting. I think the last time the PP looked good Scott hartnell and Brayden schenn were still on the team in that slot role
May 5May 5 McLane in his recent pod:Heard they went into the draft targeting OT, thinks it was likely Proctor as the guy they thought could be within trade up range. Once he went early, Lemon was probably the next best available guy on their board who fell within range.Alec Halaby rubbed people the wrong way early in the going, he was sent to the other side of the building with Howie during the whole Chip Kelly saga and he heard Halaby clashed with the football people in the organization over the years, from Chip to Doug and others, but he's a super bright guy and worked really hard to develop as a scout. He said Bryce Johnston is a big loss, cap wizard who was the brains behind the void years and stuff and they don't have an obvious ready guy to step into that role right now, he heard whispers it could be Adam Berry, but isn't sure because that doesn't seem to be his wheelhouse. If this AJ Brown situation happened two years ago, Howie wouldn't have entertained trading him. He's entertaining it in part because he wants to get out ahead of the money and possibly a declining player. People around the league have long term concerns about his knees.People are impressed by Mannion so far and he's a legit offensive mind and has full autonomy of the offense. And for the first time since Sirianni has been here(for real this time) they will have a guy running the offensive scheme fully like Fangio runs the defense fully.
