Mannions total coaching experience to date is a little over 2 years. High School, College, Pro. I imagine he gave some advice as a backup QB if you want to count that. He may be a football coaching wunderkind, let's hope he is.

Stowers had 5-6 dropped passes in 2 years at Vanderbilt and was the nations top TE (Mackey award winner). Stowers is roughly 6'4" with an 80" wingspan and a 45" vertical. That translates to always open. They are about as sure handed as rookies can be coming in the door. Both have some other worldly skill sets.

They can't throw it to themselves. Let's hope QB1 can adapt and develop the necessary skills.

I think the Eagles hired him partially by design. They brought Mannion in a little ahead of the curve to counteract the previous two occasions where successful OCs were hired quickly as head coaches. If he succeeds he’ll offer a bit of continuity in the position, and if one of the bad organizations come calling wanting to hire him cheaply the Eagles can likely convince him to hold off for a better opportunity by giving him a pay hike if necessary.

Zion Wilson is an interesting guy. Late UDFA add because he wanted a 6th year of eligibility to play at Virginia but was denied. He played at ECU before that. Last season had 7 sacks. Seems like a decent possible old rookie replacement for Ty Robinson if Ty doesnt step up his game this offseason. Eagles paid him solid money.

See that's where your 100% incorrect. We were thrilled when they went heavy run and took the ball out of hands of Hurts in 2024. Wasn't for that we would not have been raising the Lombardi that year. So we were very happy

12-3 in the regular season (15 games). 68.7%, 32 TDs, 5 INTs, 8.0 YPA and a 103.7 passer rating.

Barkley was a massive part of our 2024 team which I look back at as one of the best in NFL history. But Jalen Hurts, despite what you shameless Hurts haters unable to enjoy the greatest era of Eagles football that he is bringing us to the point that you all go out of your way to go over the top in your hate to try and memory hole for people how great he is. Only 27 years old too btw. 5 seasons as a starter at only 27 and he has brought us 5x playoff appearances, 3x NFC East Champions, 2x NFC Champions and1x Super Bowl Champion along with his other accomplishments during this run. Not to mention the first time a team in the NFC East has won the division in back to back years in over 20 years.

Wife had a get together with her girls tonight at the house so I vacated and went to the movies. Saw Pressure. For history buffs ( @just relax ) I would recommend. Brendan Frasier as Ike was pretty good.

People complain about Jalen not running as much last season. But maybe that is also because he was trying to satisfy AJ's complaining.

First four games when the Eagles started 4-0 and we now know AJ first requested the trade after starting 4-0: 10.3 rush attempts per game, 44.8 rush yards per game & 4 TDs.

The rest of the season after AJ first started complaining and requesting a trade: 5.3 rush attempts per game. 20.2 rush yards per game & 4 rush TDs.

The happiest stretch of AJ Brown's 2025 season without question had to be the 3 game losing streak (@Cowboys - Bears - @ Chargers) when he had 35 targets for 342 yards & 3 TDs. That is when he was smiling and being the most jubilant during and after games. No social media posts. He was like a kid in a candy store any time a camera was looking at him. Even after dropping the would be game winning TD pass against the Chargers.

Thanks for the recommendation. I’ve been to Normandy, read a lot about D-Day and the run-up, the logistics, the Higgins boats, the fake army commanded by Patton, and was certainly aware of the delay of a day due to weather but all the writings I’ve read focus on the pressure on Ike and little is said about the role of the meteorologists. It’s an infinitely fascinating subject and I think of those meteorologists much as I think of Rochefort and Midway.

Niven was an enormously successful Hollywood actor who gave up his career to re-up in the British army. He was a commando and air-dropped into France on D-Day.

I'll add to this that there's a happy medium any fan wants their mobile QB to run. You don't want them running so much that the RB doesn't get touches or the receivers don't get thrown to or they get injured. You also don't want them to not run when nothing is there and they just take a sack or throw it away when there's an opening

The happy medium isn't difficult either. It's been done before

Take the designed QB runs out of the offense, mothball the tush push, Hurts should be running to move the chains on third downs when the first and second reads are covered, or when the defense is playing heavy coverage and giving the easy scramble. He needs to get down and get out of bounds to avoid hits.

His legs are part of his arsenal but they should be used mainly as a get-out-of-jail card when everything else is covered.

As they should have. He had a terrible year and the team got bailed out by Barkley and a #1 defense.

We are not 3 years away from contending. We are in contend now mode. I hope we get to meet the loser that jumped ship in the Super Bowl to embarrass him but I don't think they will get anywhere close while I think we can and will win the Super Bowl. Just as Mahomes did once Hill was traded, Hurts will do it with AJ. Enjoy the Miami of the North AJ!

Hurts is headed for an absolute demon season to get the MVP he was robbed of in 2022 just like he did to get the Super Bowl in 2024 that he was robbed of in 2022. Best best this year certified are Hurts MVP, DeVonta OPTY & Patriots miss the playoffs.

AJ out there shooting social media skits with the scared kid who put up the worst Super Bowl QB performance in recent memory while Jalen Hurts and DeVonta Smith are on demon time getting ready for this season.

Since it’s Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month, I wanted to say something that’s been on my mind.

Most of us spend a lot of time talking about football, our families, work, hobbies, and whatever else is going on in life. What we don’t always talk about is when we’re struggling.

I’ve talked about some of my struggles here over the years, but not all of them. I’ve dealt with depression, anxiety, PTSD, grief, and some pretty dark periods in my life. There were times when things got a lot worse than most people realized.

That’s one reason this month matters to me.

We spend a little time talking about men’s mental health every June, but not nearly enough. A lot of men are struggling and nobody knows it. A lot of men never ask for help because they think they’re supposed to handle it themselves.

I get it, because I’ve been there.

One thing I’ve learned is that carrying pain and carrying it alone are two different things.

We’ve spent years arguing about quarterbacks, coaches, draft picks, free agency, and just about everything else under the sun. But one thing I’ve always appreciated about this community is that when life hits somebody hard, people here usually show up.

I’ve seen members rally around people dealing with illness, loss, family problems, and other struggles that have nothing to do with football. That’s one of the reasons I’ve stuck around.

So if you’re struggling, talk to somebody. A friend. A family member. A therapist. A doctor. Whoever you trust.

And if you’re doing okay, check in on the men in your life. Sometimes a simple message can make more of a difference than you realize.

I know this isn’t the usual Eagles discussion, but if this post helps even one person feel a little less alone, it’s worth posting.
