Every guy on that offensive line was hurt last year including Becton. The pounding took its toll from 2024 with not much of an offseason to heal up. Both are young enough to rebound. Not sure they are their old selves, but competent may be possible. My advice to Dickerson is to go on the Jordan Davis plan. Became way too big. Both guys have had their fair share of injuries over their entire football career and have grinded through.

If that back injury was so serious then why did Howie extend him? I'm thinking it just wasn't fully healed up last year strengthwise. I don't think he's done. Dickerson...will see. Didn't like his after the season comments.

Even so, he's never been a very fast runner anyway. He is very good at deep passes, and actually plays better under center. He has made pre-snap reads and called audibles that resulted in big plays and TDs. He's made some dynamic plays. He's also made some bad plays, bad decisions, missed open receivers and had trouble with interceptions when he tries to play too loose. People don't realize that in 2023 he actually had his best year of pass yards and TDs, because it's overshadowed by the INTs. Then they overcorrected and played too scared. It worked in 2024 because of the O line and Barkley and the dominant defense. Last year the run game wasn't the same and they needed more answers in the pass game. When you look at the state of the QB position around the league it's not like it was 15+ years ago with a lot of quality passers. There's a lot of mediocre QBs these days. Hurts can do enough to win. There's a lot to prove this year in the new offense for sure.

• Patullo was terrible, but if the O line had been healthy and they had a dominant run game and AJ wasn't as much a problem last year's offense could have been better. Despite how bad he was, Patullo DID manage to do some things well. The red zone offense was good and creative. He started running plays under center more. He wasn't up to the task for a SB defending team, they should have gone with someone with experience. He is probably better in a role he has now rather than OC calling plays.

• Fangio has been awesome along with the core young guys but last year they all took a step back as well. Carter had the spitting incident and missed a game and had a shoulder issue. Mitchell and DeJean were amazing as rookies and ended up having some plays that didn't go as well last year, which is fine, they're great players. But they kid of had their rookie mistakes in their 2nd year. They will only get better and better.

• Barkley is still a great RB. Last year he was 10th in the league after being #1 the year before. The O line and confusion from the coaches hurt the run game overall. The coaches also had Bigsby and then would not use him which was stupid and odd. When he played, he brought a burst.

• Despite issues on the O line last year, Steen played well. People were concerned he'd be the weak link but he wasn't. Mailata had some struggles but improved and got back to form. When healthy, Lane Johnson still a best and Fred Johnson is a quality backup.

• Siri does some things well and some things not. He does better as the CEO coach who oversees everything and lets his coordinators and position coaches focus on the details. He obviously does something right, they have been to two Super Bowls and made the playoffs every year he's been here. That's not an accident. He has flaws and didn't have any answers to fix the offense last year after promoting his buddy which was a fatal mistake. Now they revamped the offensive coaching and we'll see how it all works.

Looking at things with a biased view, taking extreme stances, and ignoring facts is very limiting and not intelligent.

I'm curious. Going back to some of your previous posts about how Patullo wasn't the primary issue for the crappy offense last season and OCs are really never the primary issue for a bad or good offense. Why would you even posit it is possible for an OC to be a generational genius and be the primary factor of a good Eagles offense this season? What has changed for you?

I think most on here would be on board keeping Mannion and letting Sirianni go in your scenario. Heck, I'd even do that today if push came to shove. I actually hope it is a scenario the Eagles have to deal with.

Yeah AJ could've handled it better, but I do sympathize with AJ because I'm wired like AJ in some respects. At least when it comes to speaking out. I'm the type where if I'm in line at a store and some guy is at the front of a long line asking a million questions, I'm the one who will yell something out like "Dude, this isn't a Fing Q&A session, either buy something or get the hell out of line"(I use this because this was a real life thing that happened a few weeks ago 😂)

I do have respect for people who aren't afraid to speak out. If I was part of any team oriented project whether it was sports or otherwise, and I thought one or multiple people in that group were objectively harming our potential to succeed or make a great product, I would not just sit there like a lump on a log and hold my tongue. It's not in me to do that. Maybe AJ was just pouty immaturity. Maybe it was also him feeling with everything in his being that our chances of success(or his) are being actively harmed by bad decisions and he just can't take it anymore. I can respect that. At least he cares. And I don't think the season would have been any different if he never said anything. I think the outcome would have been exactly the same.

I'm more annoyed by him acting like he left a dumpster fire organization after being traded that was one of the most successful teams in sports over the last 5 years. That is annoying and weird. I never cared about him speaking up though while he was here. And of course his concerns proved valid.

I don't think if the offense turns around Mannion will ever be the primary factor. I think it would be because players played better, but an OC can put them in positions to have a greater chance of success. They still have to do it though. I don't think OCs can take units or players and make them from bad to great or even average to great. But I think coaching can make average good or good great. Do you think if Kevin Patullo was on the Rams and he called plays and ran the offense, that their offense would suck next season? I don't. Because they have a great QB and great skill position players. And they have good chemistry together. It wouldn't be as good as with McVay, but it wouldn't suck either.

The problem is that eventually, they did listen to AJ and force-fed him the ball. And lost games. He fell flat on his face in the end, after all that bishing and moaning. Talked the talk, but didn't walk the walk.

If Patulla ran his/Sirianni offense, yes, I think the Rams would be a mediocre or worse offense. I think Patullo is a great example of the Peter Principle. He got promoted beyond his capabilities by the Eagles.

I find it funny when some fans are posting with what seems like certainty about how something will look. We really don't know what the offense will be. Mannion is supposedly a great up and coming mind, but has never called plays. There's optimism, but it may take time. Or he may be that good that it's successful early. We just don't know. We don't know how Lemon or Stowers will play. We don't know how Hurts will look in this offense. We don't know how the WR production will be in replacing AJ collectively. We don't know about the O line health. There are a lot of questions, and both optimism and skepticism are valid. We just have to see.

AJ wasn't some selfless hero speaking out for the good of the team. He was a little gina taking cowardly shots and too big a **** to actually say what was really on his mind. He's still to big a gina to actually say it. He needs to just STFU and start whining about his money with the new team. It's been 5 minutes now I'm sure he's ready to start up with them.

I don't think they would be mediocre or worse I don't agree. And we don't even know how much influence Patullo had on the offense last year anyway. Could've been more Sirianni than Patullo. Patullo called plays, but we don't know how much of the scheme was his. The goal line pay calls and packages were creative. Who was responsible for those? Was it Patullo? Loefler? Frazier? No one knows. Patullo may suck, but that's not why the fans hate him. The fans hate him because he's the low hanging fruit that they came blame the offense on for not achieving the expectations they set for it, and can continue to live in the bubble of optimism they created for themselves. 75% of fan discourse is just finding ways to continue to be optimistic about their teams, even if it means lying to themselves.

I'd prefer it's done in the locker room and not public but either no one spoke up or it was ignored because there were weeks/months of no changing after the PCs saying they would look at the tape and fix something

Patuilo himself said in an Interview that he has been a key leader in the offense for years along side Sirianni. So if you believe him, then he was a primary driver of that offense. Both the good ones and bad ones.

A couple random observations.

First, how do only 3 active Eagles show up to AJ's wedding? Seen Devanta and Barkley were there. Supposedly, Jalyx was there as well. Cooper DeJean? No!! 🤔 This makes me applaud the great job that management & the team did in making things seem normal and not putting out there that this dude was a lone wolf in the locker room. Lotta fake relationships most likely. That probably is more on AJ than anyone else. Howie absolutely dodged a bullet in getting a 1st rounder here from the only team who wanted him because they were desperate and he had a previous relationship with his old coach. And AJ knew how to butter them up with those Patriots kid pictures and Tom Brady Jersey pic. Hilarious. AI generated in one of them. The Master Manipulator. And of course Diva. Anyway....

Second, interesting that AJ marries his long term girlfriend just 2 weeks before the trade. I have to think they both knew the alleged hanky panky stories would come out right after the trade. And now they were married and a united front. AJ probably had a gun to his head, as this chick has probably read him the riot act by now for his behavior. LOL. I do believe they are accurate stories at this point with the infidelity and massage therapist story. But it's now not our problem. Kind of relieved this is all over!

And last thought, what did Za'Darius Smith see that caused him to leave the Eagles faster than a toupee in a hurricane. And was it known in the league that this locker room was effed up which may have restricted other free agents from wanting to join the flock?
