Backup Guard- Hoping Becton and the Eagles come to their senses and sign late here. Good insurance policy for Dickerson as Steen can swing over to left guard if Dickerson can't hold up. Maybe Zeitler if not Becton, if willing to be a backup on a championship contender.

Kicker- I think Missy is washed and very limited in his range at this point. Wondering if this Verhoff kid made enough of an impression in rookie camp to get a training camp invite. The one report I saw on him was very positive. At minimum, I'd be holding a solid candidate on the PS this year. Missy needs some competition. This is stupid already. If we go the veteran route, Daniel Carlson from the Raiders is still on the street. Dipped last year a bit, but still graded much better than Elliott the last 2 years. Otherwise, I'm pretty sure one will spring loose in training camp with a few of the young ones coming in displacing vets. Elliott must have unflattering pics of Sirianni with the loyalty here. Don't care about the cap hit or contract. Can't have a kicker here losing you games or limiting you with his short kicking range in today's NFL. The guy has been bad in 3 of his last 6 years.

I think they are a good bet to miss the playoffs. So it depends on what you mean by implode. I just don't want them to fall too much because then they'd be drafting high and that means they get a good player which will help them in 2027. And I want that 2028 pick to be top 15. Possibly top 10.

Patriots have the 6th most difficult schedule in 2026. Due to a short offseason and high expectations can see a 10-7/9-8 season here battling for a wildcard. If they didn't have an easy 4 wins vs. Jets & Dolphins it would be worse. This has the setup for an up and down season and major disappointment. The replacement of Brown for Diggs is close to a wash. Be patient...

They absolutely did luck into success, they had the easiest schedule in the league by far and then Bo Nix broke his ankle before the AFC championship game. They wouldve been dogwalked by denver with Nix, not that Nix is great but the offense was much better with him in it (like every other team except the 2017 eagles)

So many fans just want to have some drama proven right or wrong to stick to other fans who disagree with them, rather than hope their team wins. So many are prepared to mock others if they are proven right...but are they prepared to eat crow if they're wrong?

Let's just see what happens, we have no idea how things will go for either the Eagles or Patriots next season after the changes.

Super Bowl hangover is very real. Especially for what was the least impressive Super Bowl team that I've seen this century. The offensive line is still garbage. Even though they didn't win the Super Bowl they are still going to be facing teams best shot every week because they won the AFC. That attrition is tough. Throw on the Vrabel-Russini on top of it and you have a HC that has been very drained this offseason both personally and professionally. They aren't going to have a good year.

And as a fan you can't help but root against the Patriots because it's beyond obvious the tampering that occurred. That is a team that will be fun to root against the next two years.

Okay let's just stop giving our opinions here for the next 6 months and we will watch. Of course everyone wants to be right. It's human nature. That's why you post your long novels in here. I think the player, age, and position AJ plays factors into most people being content with this. If this happened with a young superstar QB and the Eagles decided to move on because "He just didn't want to be here anymore" I think the sentiments would be a lot different.

The Eagles traded Carson Wentz when he requested to be traded when they were hoping to keep him and they conducted their HC search with the intention of Wentz being the QB but Wentz wanted Doug and Roseman gone or he wanted to traded.

I think AJ will have a good year. This wasn’t getting rid of a player because he is in decline per se. It was getting out a year or two early because he wanted out mostly, secondly would be predicting a decline soon. I firmly believe if he wanted to be here, he would, at least for this year.

Patriots likely won’t be as good, but I think they will still be ok. Besides the Bills the division is awful. They take a step back but don’t complete embarrass themselves.

Safety. Our former UDFA level S is replaced. Reed in base. (Epps in nickel and possibly Wisneiwski later on). Sidney Brown has been replaced (J. T. Gray, if we need a ST replacement. Browns play doesn’t warrant much more). Don’t underestimate the value of Sam (who looked better when he played than Brown). Sam has real good instincts but is a tad slow. (Sound like anyone we know? - Reed). Mukuba and Coop have a solid backup in Carter, who sure looks like he will be the dime back. Don’t overlook Brandon Johnson, who I think will start,the season on the PS. Eagles started the season with three Ss on the active roster last year. I would argue they are stronger there than last year at this time. Howie only makes a move where benefit exceeds cost and betters the team.

Do agree that there's a solid chance that we can handle most of this internally. Think Epps is a solid 3rd safety who can fill in. May not hold up as a starter. Makuba is a real prospect as a starter. Carter will be at dime. Think we are one short here, but may work out internally. Howie will probably assess and address later if need be. Would like at least another cheap vet thrown into the mix.

I don't believe Becton is coming back and may not be a great scheme fit, but I'm willing to try that idea for a cheap vet miminum contract with incentives.

Kicker will play out. Don't think Ellliott finishes season as an Eagle. Short leash this year.

I am all about giving unproven guys chances, but want Howie to bulletproof the roster every chance he gets. He failed on that front last year. What I would hate for to happen is Howie backtrack to known weaknesses and waste draft picks trying to fill holes later. Doesn't have that luxury this year.

People talk about Devanta missing AJ. I believe it's the other way around and Brown will miss Devanta. I remember last year people saying Milton Williams was a product of Jalen Carter. Incorrect. Great player in his own right. Carter missed that dude last year.

The guy can't mentally handle life, which is a shame because he has issues beyond the game, but it's only a matter of time until he acts like an a-hole again. You are spot on about Williams. With Brown aging and his knee going to crap he isn't going to be happy there for long.

AJ just ain't worth it anymore. This offense will be a breath of fresh air this year all the way around. Plenty of good players here. And good energy already. 49ers had way less talent and were functional in that playoff game. Makes me very hopeful for this scheme. A good OC does matter and that alone will uplift this offense a notch. No longer have to rely on sheer dominance and beating the man one on one. Too easy to defend that.
