Devonta Smith's production as an Eagle doesn't look all that different from Jeremy Maclin. He's got work to do if he's going to run away with career best Eagles WR.

Raw production. In 21 regular season games he had 124 receptions for 1,963 yards and 20 TDs. Put that on a modern day 17 game average for a season and that is 100 receptions for 1,589 yards and 16 TDs.

AJ's best season? 106 receptions for 1,456 yards and 7 TDs or 88 rec for 1,496 yards and 11 TDs. His per 17 game average for the Eagles for his career? 93 rec, 1,380 yards and 9 TDs.

AJ Brown had 9 receptions for 147 yards in two Super Bowls with a QB that put up two of the best Super Bowl performances you will see from a QB. TO put up 9 rec for 122 yards in one Super Bowl on that broken screwed together leg with a QB that was having an all time game long choking moment on the biggest stage of the world that would come to perfectly define his career full of choking championship games.

DeVonta Smith is clearly much better than Jeremy Maclin ever was. Absolutely disrespectful to compare him to Jeremy Maclin. DeVonta already the Eagles franchise record holder for career receiving yards in the playoffs (665) and 2nd place all time with 51 receptions. Only 6 receptions from breaking that record. 5 postseason TDs away from owning that franchise record as well. Now he is the undisputed top guy with the cancer AJ out of town.

One major thing that I think people are getting wrong with AJ...and I say this as someone who has no dogs in the fight to defend AJ as a person.

WRs can dog routes when they think they won't be targeted. WRs can dog blocking. AJ Brown is a fiercely competitive, selfish, egotistical athlete...he's NOT going to dog it with the ball in the air headed his way, or on plays where he is the first read. And people are accusing him of that.

I think a huge portion of his perceived poor effort was a precipitous physical decline and loss of explosion. He's not who he was.

Yeah. Like I said they are paying for past performance here. Yes. Give me Mahomes circa Tyreek Hill era all day long. I have stated here many times that Chiefs championship defense carried those last 2 Lombardis along with some fortuitous and league help with referees and favorable field conditions etc. I believe his 1st one was his greatest one. When he had Tyreek. Not been the same since.

Regardless, if Chiefs are barely a playoff team in the foreseeable future then his greatness will start to be less exaggerated. Can thank Chris Collingsworth for much of that til now. They drilled his greatness into us a little too much with his highlight reel passes. I get it. Still think he's a very good QB today and an overpaid one. And won't elevate the Chiefs to a Superbowl anytime soon.

We saw him dog it on two deep shots with the ball in the air at the end of the first half in his final game as an Eagle.

He knew he was going to get to go to the Pats at that point and he had no interest in playing any further games on the Eagles.

OTA practices installing a new offense with new WRs against the best secondary/defense in the league.

Every veteran starting qb in the nfl can run their offense in shorts and look amazing against an OTA defense.

If I’m going to read into it, looking like crap just tells me they are actually running a different offense and doing something new.

I’ll judge week 1. And I won’t wait too long for anyone who says to give it time at that point, beyond a few games.
