Emergency QB getting reps

Ebiketie

Epenesa

Injury concerns, but solid DE depth if we can keep them upright and Epenesa can work his way back. Not expecting much, but we'll see.

I think Hunt and Smith are talented players and Ebiktie is really intriguing - he could lake some plays if given snaps late in games.

I was thinking defense. I think he’s going to have a plan for the offense, they're already getting younger with draft picks.

I figured as much but those are three potential premium contracts people don’t think about when talking about who on D to extend

The idea that Jeremy Maclin — who was a pretty good player here — was somehow better than Terrell Owens is downright silly. I don’t know what to say!

Ir seems like they're arguing that "better eagle"= better numbers with the team. In that respect, obviously it's not close. However, that's a ridiculous thought process, as you mentioned.

TO is probably the best WR to ever play here, speaking as someone too young to have watched Harold Carmichael. So AJ is at best 2, but probably 3.

One major thing that I think people are getting wrong with AJ...and I say this as someone who has no dogs in the fight to defend AJ as a person.

WRs can dog routes when they think they won't be targeted. WRs can dog blocking. AJ Brown is a fiercely competitive, selfish, egotistical athlete...he's NOT going to dog it with the ball in the air headed his way, or on plays where he is the first read. And people are accusing him of that.

I think a huge portion of his perceived poor effort was a precipitous physical decline and loss of explosion. He's not who he was.

He literally did that multiple times, what are you talking about??

I'd take Desean Jackson as an Eagles WR over AJ. Maybe if AJ didn't turn into a teenage girl and force his way out of town.

I said we couldn't trade AJ before June 1, and was correct.

$1,000 says Carter is not traded before the start of the 2027 season.

I was pretty sure you climbed down from the bell air 711 Mt slushy calling everyone idiots that thought AJ would be traded proclaiming the cap numbers to be impossible to move him. I could be wrong.

Why only a thousand? Are you poor? The only thing gayer than trying to fight people in a parking lot is the old thousand dollar internet bet. 0-2.

Carter, Q & DeJean are the core that need big contracts.

Who are the others?

I'll start off with the obvious one. How about Hurts? He's already wanting the extension now, it'll be the focus of all media attention all year now that AJ isn't around to distract them. So Hurts, Devonte, Carter, Q, Coop to start. Most likely at least one starting caliber oline next year, probably Lane's replacement. They still don't have a starting caliber pair of safeties. One would be nice...

Carter isn't going to give the home town discount or he'd be signed by now. If he does what Davis did and balls out this season Drew Rosenhaus is going to make him the highest paid defense player in the league. I don't see them tying up that much money in the middle of the line.

Tough decisions will be coming.

What other players, pray tell? While you're at it, pay attention to when they come up for new contracts and/or extensions. For example, in 2028, when Quinnen might well be playing under a fifth year option, AJ's contract comes off the books. You have this notion that all these contracts hit at once and nothing comes off the books. It's a common notion in here but, well, incorrect.

Is this a serious question? No. No it's not.

In terms of talent, AJ is better than Harold C. In terms of being beloved by fans of a certain age group like me, Harold wins against all Eagles WR since him. In a time when Eagles football was like the Browns now, Harold gave us a uniqueness we could cheer for. I remember the game in 1979 when he broke the consecutive games with a catch record (127 games) and he got an absurdly tall trophy. He was and always has been the guy, our guy

I'm still wondering how Shitdoer passed Dillon Gabriel on the Browns depth chart after throwing 7 TD and 10 INT last year.

That is a Pro Bowl QB you are bad mouthing.

WIP already stoking the flames regarding Jalen Carter, while present, but not practicing at mini camp. They’re calling it a distraction, a potential hold out situation, etc. I guess now that AJ is gone, they needed to find a new slant.

WIP is the Idiocracy radio station of March 3rd 2505. All I hear from them is "Go away! Batin!"

I get that, but there's a difference between guys that are going to get the huge contracts and guys that will be acquired to fill roster spots. They have that now, they've just been heavy of offense and need to pay young stud defenders - a great problem to have.

Lane's replacement would be either Bell or a rookie so a rookie contract. AJ already gone, Barkley won't get another contract, Lane will retire, Dickerson won't get another contract and be replaced with a rookie deal. Jurgens also won't get another, they'll need a healthy replacement. Goedert will be gone. Money will come available from these players leaving. Baun will be gone and Campbell replaces him. They haven't invested in safety and let Blankenship walk so they won't be spending big money there. Stud corners and solid safeties with a strong front 7.

It won't be easy but that's what happens when you build a championship roster. Howie plans these things years ahead with options.

I don't know about Hurts. If the new scheme is good and they think they can move on from him to someone else, he may also be gone. If he does really well and they want to invest they have to be sure about durability long-term. This will be a year to evaluate the new offense.

I think that was the point. It may have stemmed from the "best Eagles WR" and TO was here only 2 seasons

If Mannion looks really good as OC, the other one will be firing Nick & promoting Mannion so some other team doesn't hire him.

He is practicing though. He just hasnt done team stuff. It could be contract. Its also likely injury precaution with his shoulders too.

The plan is going to be Grizzard.

That game last night displays everything wrong with the NBA today. The infatuation with the 3 pt. shot is crazy. Spurs were up 29 and proceeded to take 8 straight 3 pt. shots. It's almost the equivalent of the Falcons dropping back to pass while up 28-3 😂

Agreed and I hate that line of thinking. Just because a guy comes in and does well as OC doesn't mean it'll equate to being a good HC. It also doesn't even mean they'd be a good OC elsewhere.

I've never watched NFL Hard Knocks, but if the league had chosen the Browns or Vikings training camp instead of the Seahawks, I might have made an exception. Watching the coaches' meetings would be gold:

"This guy sucks! We can't go into the season with him behind center."

"The other guy sucks even worse! Is the arena league still a thing? Maybe there's someone there."

Whenever people bring this up, I always want to ask them to name any time in history this has ever happened, in any league, in any sport .... where a winning head coach has been fired (not retired) so that an assistant coach could be promoted in order to be retained.

It doesn't seem like a rational thing. Not even in women's sports.
