That's fine too if people wanna do that, they can do whatever they want, but to LGM's point, it is fascinating how far the legend of Mannion has grown without even calling a single game. Not even a preseason game. There's more hype around Mannion with fans than there is with Lemon and Lemon accomplished way more as a collegiate player than Mannion ever did as a coach. The thing is we just really have no idea how much most coordinators are responsible. Everyone has and will continue to blame Patullo for everything last year. Whether he was or wasn't because it's convenient. I remember once upon a time with Reich and Sirianni the Colts offense was good, then Sirianni left and it declined and I saw a handful of Colts beat guys going "Colts offense doesn't look so great without Sirianni does it... maybe he's not the idiot everyone thought he was." Then everyone thought Sirianni was some really smart offensive mind... until he lost Steichen. So no one knows. And if the offense sucks again this year we still won't know how much of it is Mannion. It could be the QB, it could be the OL, it could be difficulty transitioning to a new scheme.People talk with so much certainty when it comes to coordinators, almost as much as they do with players and I think it's a lot more complicated. How this plays out is unknown, but quite frankly I feel better about taking a chance on a young upcoming coach than one who didn't progress to an OC position until his 17th season coaching in the NFL.

Is Mannion actually good? No one knows. But we know the last guy was a train wreck, so change of any sort will breed optimism.Yea, I get all that. It's the fire Sirianni hire Mannion stuff that just seems crazy. I kinda of understood it when it came to Kellen Moore because he was an experienced play caller and was on the cusp of getting a HC job. The talk about Mannion just seems crazy. You would have to hope he's not only a good OC, but he's also a good HC. We've seen a few good OC's who are garbage coaches.
June 11Jun 11 Eagles have plenty at WR at this point. Wilson and Cooper are likely your 6th & 7th WRs right now. That's solid depth.

Had the 2024 team crashed and burned, Nick and Kellen would have been out of a job. Lurie and Howie have never promoted from within for HC - they decide to go full reset.

I'm less confident in the QB excelling in the system than anything else. We have no track record with Mannion so it could go either way. With Hurts we do have a track record of him not commanding a quality passing attack since 2022.He's paid like an elite QB and not only hasn't he played elite, I think we can flatly declare right now that he's far from it. That's settled now. In my eyes the idea of him returning to 2022 Hurts isn't even a thing anymore. It's just how far below elite is he. I think he's anywhere from 10-17th-ish best QB in the NFL. I think this season will tell us the answer to that. But the days of hoping he can be a top level QB to me are gone.

I was of course mocked for it at the time as I often am when I am ahead of the curve with things like this that later come true. This franchise has a track record of taking shots on guys to give them a second chance. He is DeVonta's best friend and this organization holds DeVonta in very high regards. Plus he obviously gives the Eagles that top end speed option to make defenses respect him deep to open other things up for the offense that they have been trying to fill for years and now most recently with Hollywood Brown. With Hurts and DeVonta I think they would feel they have a good support system in place for Ruggs. It all comes down ultimately to how Big Dom assesses it all. But I have always felt and still do now especially with AJ gone that Ruggs will ultimately land in Philly. He is a piece of human garbage, and I don't want him anywhere near the Eagles. Parole denied, and hopefully is denied several more times so he can never play in the NFL.

Scheming guys opening regularly, Jalen Hurts looking very comfortable, Devonta absolutely crushing it, the running game looking Niners under Shanahan esque. But it's just glimpses and there are growing pains because of the OL health issues or QB struggling and the Eagles win 10 games, and they get bounced in the WC round because the QB and/or OL struggle. That could be a scenario where other teams come knocking to interview and hire Mannion for their head coach openings, and Lurie and Howie sit down and go "Ok, so 3 out of the last 4 seasons this team went one and done under Sirianni, and we have this new and young up and coming coach who has shown glimpses of bringing us the offense we have long coveted in this city for some time. And the players absolutely swear by this guy. We have thought about pulling the plug on Sirianni multiple times over the past few seasons, we aren't achieving top level success consistently with him, and the Super Bowl season is an outlier... maybe it's time to move on and just promote Mannion."I don't think that scenario is most likely, but it is possible. Odds are if Mannion is great and the QB plays well, this team will be really good, will at least a playoff game and then Sirianni will keep his job. And then the other side of that is if things go horribly then they just clean house including Hurts, Sirianni, Mannion and rebuild the entire thing from scratch. But the above scenario is that niche area where they like what they see, but still go one and done again and I've said I think Sirianni has to win a playoff game this season to keep his job barring him getting bailed out by injury excuses or whatever.
June 11Jun 11 This LEAST Accurate Reporter dude is...once again, not accurate. And living in a demented reality. According to him, Hurts is paid like an elite QB. After Mahomes extension, he is now the 12th highest paid QB in the league. By his own admission, says Hurts is a 10th-17th QB ranked in the league. Guess what??? He's getting paid like that. This guy is all over the dang place. Comical! Here's my source below, rather than talk out of my ass.https://overthecap.com/position/quarterback
June 11Jun 11 The only way it would make sense to fire Sirianni and keep Mannion is if this offense ends up being an unstoppable dominant offe side machine ranked #1 in scoring and points and the chances of that are next to none in this first year.Eagles are prepared for him to be poached if he is good this year. That's why they filled his staff with guys they also interviewed for OC. Sirianni will not be fired after a successful season, which we wpuld be having if Mannion's offense looks so good that another ta wants to hire him as HC.

(Hurts is at 51M)A lot of these QBs are getting paid way too much. Purdy got 53M, Lawrence got 55M, and somehow Dak has 60M

He has 1 Superbowl trophy & MVP award and another near miss Lombardi, that was super controversial vs. the so called goat, where he outplayed him. What do you think his salary should be, relative to the list that's there? Who are actually getting paid more. Prescott, Burrow, Jackson, Love, Lawrence, Herbert, Purdy & Goff have done exactly what???? And I'm not even gonna talk about Josh Allen who has choked a bunch on the big stage.

When Hurts got his contract he was the highest paid player in the NFL. See, there's this thing called inflation where other players surpass you in salary since contracts aren't readjusted every year.Even bothering with that dude has become a waste of time, which is why I'm not gonna bother anymore. When he first got the contract he had just went to a superbowl and won one soon after and was properly compensated at that time. And at this time, he's right where he belongs at number 12. Guys like Lawrence, Purdy, Goff, Herbert and Love are all above him. That's even questionable. What is your beef? He's being compensated just where he should be all along.

Lamar Jackson gets a lot of love as a Top 5 QB. What are his passing stats in regards to passing yards and TDs... and winning in the playoffs? There's a lot of delusion in here about QB1 in here and his overall impact to winning. And not beating himself and winning on the biggest stage when it counts.
