I have to disagree. When Ronnie Lott was drafted, Bill Walsh put him at left corner. He was all-pro there. After four years Walsh moved him to safety. He was all-pro there as well. Walsh explained the move, saying at corner he only controlled half the field but at safety he controlled all of it with his elite vision, tackling, and playmaking. Fangio already uses DeJean as a quasi-safety who switches to straight safety in base sets. This is not unlike the notion of putting your five best OL out there and figuring out who goes where after the fact. Last year it looked like Vic was protecting CB2. If Woolen proves out there it frees DeJean up to roam more. I’m sure he’ll still take a slot receiver much of the time but I look for him to be wild card in our zone coverages, that is, a safety.

DeJean eliminates the SS position for the most part. Mukuba or Carter gives them disguise capabilities and both play like a S when it comes to attacking the run and tackling. Epps is a tad faster than Reed. I don’t really get the Wisneiwski pick. He’s more of a S/LB type. A bit Baun. Howie says he sees some Blakenship in Wisneiwski. Not sure I do.

What’s going to be interesting is how much Vic uses Cover 6. Communication is a must for that and Reed was mostly good at that, although it slipped a bit last year. I suspect Coop takes that role.

Eagles do have 2 guys who have been successful at slot CB in the NFL besides Dejean. Michael Carter got a big contract for his nickel CB play not even 2 years ago from the Jets. And Jonathan Jones also got a nice contract from Patriots in 2023 for his play. Will be interesting to see if Cooper plays more safety than we think with those 2 vets around.

I was in Philly today. Drove past the world cup viewing area down by the river. Ecuador jerseys everywhere.

Went to Del Rossis. Couldn't move in there. Literally nowhere to stand. Place is small. I don't know if its always that way or if it's because of the world cup crowd.

I can't imagine what NYC will be like on parade day with the additional crowd for world cup.

I would guess the opposite to be true. Athletes are usually in great shape cardio wise. However, sometimes some of the stuff you take to get bigger, stronger, faster, can cause issues with heart, lungs, kidneys, even livers.

That's what I was thinking about - 'vitamins' and 'supplements'. I'm not certain those 'products' are being produced by people that are too smart and competent to work for Pfizer and J&J. I'm sure some are legitimate products being misused but I wonder if there are others that are hazardous and could have delayed effects. Kinda like buying and using street drugs. You might get high, you might get dead.

BGN these days is nothing more than sensationalist trash, barely more respectable than Crossing Broad. They've fallen a long way

Del Rossi's cheesesteak has a strong case to be my #1 over Gazzos by a slim margin. They had SO much cooper in that thing. There was no grease dripping. The bread works. I feel like I could have taken it to go and the bread wouldnt get soggy. Meat slightly chopped. Not fine. Bread was just a utensil to get the food to your mouth. I tasted the cheese, the steak, and even the sesame seeds. The bread did not star in the show but it did a job.

I need to have Gazzos again sometime soon to get a good comparison because its real close.

But I dont know whether it was the world cup crowd in town today, or if its always that overcrowded. Literally no room to stand, let alone find a table to eat at. Not to mention trying to park in the city. I may never go to Del Rossi's again.

Their pizza looks amazing. It looks better than it is.

Cheesesteak is worth traveling for. Once.

I can get better pizza at home. It looks life changing. It was just good... Not worth a special trip for.

While i agree it isn’t as good anymore, the hurts needing an extension is coming up after 2027. @vikas83 can probably explain it better than me, but his contract after 2027 is kind of a line of demarcation. If they wanted to move in after 2027 they post June 1 cut or trade him and save money. I actually think this season likely is a big year for hurts, Nick and the offense. Because if the pass offense is once again bottom third in the league, then Nick is likely going to be in trouble (as i can’t imagine the eagles running like they did in 2024 to make up for that) and the Eagles are gonna have three first round picks in the next two years to maneuver the way they want at the QB position. It’s makes a lot of sense to give hurts a big extension moving forward if he plays great in 2026. However if he doesn’t i think eagles are hitting a crossroads at HC and QB

Ha ha. So the Rocky statue vs anyone but Philly teams stands! Suck it Ecuador! 😆

Rod Brind’Amour has punched his ticket to the Hockey Hall of Fame. First person in 80 years to captain and head coach the same franchise to a Stanley Cup.

Seeing as Carolina has only ever won two Stanley Cups, I’d say that’s pretty damn Hall of Fame worthy.

The bones of the article are fine enough, this is a make or break year for Hurts because of what you mentioned abour his contract. The meat of "is philly gonna run a superstar out of town" is idiotic.

If Hurts is traded it's because he would have sucked absolute ass this upcoming season and proved he wouldn't be worth a further investment. Paying premium for past performances is what bad teams do.

That said, I do have some hope that with a halfway competent coaching staff the offense will at least be average, which is all they need to be with this defense.

Thank god carolina won, I can't stand Vegas after their complete manipulation of their expansion draft and then they didn't have to offer anyone up for the Kraken expansion draft. F Vegas

The gist of the article is Philly ran Wilt out of town and they are doing the same to Hurts. Problem is Wilt wanted out not the other way around. He wanted to go to LA. So the entire premise of the aritcle is false.

It was fun to watch USMNT beat Paraguay. Game this Friday will determine they advance out of their group. Gonna be a tough game, and I think Turkey will give the US fits. However, US doesn't have much of a chance in round two. So many good teams.

That’s pronounced Turkeyay nowadays apparently.

I appreciate Big Dom's bit of always wearing a track suit and hat and sticking out like a sore thumb everywhere he goes

It's from the same people that call Chile, Cheeelay. No real reason for it
