What he did was terrible, but how he responded was commendable.

June 12Jun 12 If one is made it'll probably be safety or IOL. I guess there's always an outside chance Howie could swing a trade for another WR since Howie values the position, but I think if that happens it's more likely at the deadline or next offseason. But I continue to have my eyes on Brian Thomas Jr. That guy just screams Howie Roseman buy low candidate.

As we sit here today, feels like Wilson and Cooper as the 5th and 6th WR/Special teamers.

I don't feel great about how the non Devonta WRs are going to perform this season. Aside from Lemon who as a rookie and a current unknown, I think the Eagles other WRs are similar to what they had at CB2 last year. They have a bunch of bodies, but none of them I really think are all that good. They are probably better than what they had at CB2 last season given how awful those other guys were. But not much. Hollywood Brown is a low level starter at this point, Wicks I just don't think is very good and Wilson or Cooper.... yeah. If Lemon doesn't come out of the gate and immediately impress I think WR could be a real problem. This year's version of CB2 last year and a position Howie is looking for at the deadline.

June 12Jun 12 People are too trapped into the idea you need two #1 receivers here after having that for 4 years. This WR Group is as deep and multi dimensional as it has been in years. Having a 2 dimensional offense with AJ and Devanta was pretty easy to defend by last year. It required dominance of being able for people to win one on one, which AJ can no longer do, regularly. That was our handicap last year from previous years. Offensive line pass protected adequately. On top of that, the rushing game should be able to help carry the load this year with guys healthier and rested getting a full offseason. And will not be at 3rd and long all year with this scheme, which is good at getting short passes that work as good as a run play. Play action, boot legs and screen passes will be more prevalent. Not always looking for the home run play to save the offense. The defense will benefit greatly as well, with less 3 and outs and a more balanced time of possession.

This year's version of CB2 last year and a position Howie is looking for at the deadline.I can't imagine they would consider a trade at this position. They have a very good WR and an above average receiving TE. They are likely to have a very good defense. They are going to be playing with leads and won't have to pass. I don't see the team needing to pass 500+ to be effective. In what scenario would they be able to add a player with enough talent that makes it worthwhile to give up assets for and get less than 50 to 70 targets on the season. I agree they could upgrade on Wicks but I don't expect some blockbuster type trade or even a trade for an above average starter.
