You're even cutting into Hurts own stats to ignore his bad years in the beginningWhy do fans feel the need to cherry pick stats to make Hurts look better? What bad years? Came in as a rookie and looked better than Wentz to close out the season? Then his first year as a starter when he took the Eagles to the playoffs after they went 4-11-1 the year before? You Hurts Haters just continue to be the biggest losers around.

June 23Jun 23 You all jumped all over me when I said there’s smoke on the future of Jalen Carter. At what point do we call it smoke?

The only place where there is a difference is in the round robin First Round, and for the life of me I don’t see how that quality of that Round has been diminished. If you look at the scores of all the 40 games played so far, the overall closeness/competitiveness of the games has been superb. 12 draws. 8 one-goal games. 8 two-goal games. Only 12 games where the goal differential was more than 2. It has been very entertaining thus far. From my perspective, I've seen players like Ali Al-Hamadi (Iraq) IRL, and respectfully to the lad (massively injury prone), there is no way he should be playing at the WC. Some of the Iraq play last night reminded me of upper end L2/mid table L1 standard; if it's all they can do, then that is ok. The WC should be the best of the best to remove teams that just aren't good enough. I've seen some Premier League teams play where you can see them not get out of 2nd gear to get a win, knowing that's all they need to do. France and England's first games showed what happens when a good team decide to play.If others disagree, no issue, but it's not something I have the energy to sit through. Snobbish? Most definitely 😉

A couple weeks ago the blog consensus was that it’s a near impossibility.

I'd say he and Hurts are the two guys who are on the clock, so to speak. He has to be our best or close to best defender, play all 16-17 games, and be a top 3 DT in the league this season to get the $45 million that Rosehaus is surely asking for. If he doesn't do those 3 things he either accepts less than $40 million or will get traded.

We see it every year, and unless he pulls a Micah and lays on a table during a preseason game, he’ll get signed

Lots of overthrows on open receivers. A revisit to the Amari cooper vs golden tate trades and a reminder that I do not miss a different running back rotating in every down.

Most definitely 😉 You too are looking at the exception (the weakest link or flaw) and making it the rule. Instead of spending your time looking for and recounting it, why don’t you start with the best of the WC so far. How has that best compared to the best of the round robin phase of past World Cups? Even more important would be a comparison of what the typical or median team play has been. Using the score distribution numbers again, the 12 three point plus margin games are offset by the 12 draws, leaving the 8 one goal margin games and the 8 two goal margin games as the typical/median examples. How have those gone? Has the quality of the entertainment diminished? England-Croatia and USA-Australia were two of those typical/median games. How did you assess them for the entertainment value they delivered? Or the quality of play they displayed?

While it rained hard in stretches, there wasn't any lightning.Agreed, that the game had a 1 seed vs 16 seed vibe, the Frenchees were just playing with their food.
