Hard to say, he’s going to be 29 and Simmons is a better player. Not to say those things are absolutes when it comes to contracts and market setting. I just think he would be likely in the same ball park as Simmons vs pushing the market substantially higher.

If Sixers can turn these three 2nd round draft picks from McCain trade into an early 2nd rounder tonight that's a pretty good result. You get at least 2 good bench pieces for this year and a higher ceiling at PG. McCain was a secondary ball handler at best. In the playoffs with a half court offense, you need a guy like Philon who can dribble and create shots for the offense. Also, has higher upside on defense where McCain is slow and a traffic cone. Reset the clock for salary being spent when you're tied to 2 albatross contracts. Had to see the forest through the trees in that deal. As I said then, great return by Morey for a guy who could barely crack the lineup. This would be an A+ trade with a 2nd bench piece acquired tonight for a guy who was a bad fit here with Maxey and giving you only 17 minutes per night in playoffs with Thunder. This guy will probably play closer to 30 minutes a night and replace Grimes's minutes.

The thing people get lost with contract situations also is it’s a negotiation. In a situation like Carter’s it’s not just about signing him as fast as you possibly can. For all we know, Rosenhaus could be asking for something extreme like $40M+ APY or $150M guaranteed. Waiting and letting other guys like Simmons sign contracts could be beneficial in getting a deal done closer to terms Howie is looking for.

In Texas, the wildflowers on the roadsides are protected and patches of them aren’t mowed. In my youth, throwing your seeds into those flower patches was called "gardening”. The genius that designed the Jr/Sr high school I went to in 7th and 8th grade put a planter garden in the atrium. A lot of students "gardened” in it. The number of pot plants growing in it was significant.

I could see Howie being in on this. I don't think he'd give up much but we all know the QB factory never stops working. McKee will be gone in a few months and he'll want his next QB project with talent.

I don’t agree with Les on much but he is right on this one. Pretty much a hit piece on Russini while distancing the Athletic and NY Times from her behavior while hiding the executives involved. Look at us, how ethical we are 🐃💩.
