You're going to join the blog fantasy league or I'm going to post about hockey 10 times a day. You've been warned.

@HazletonEagle you better. I’m pretty sure he’s a penguins fan and we can’t have that in here.

Thank you!!!! I was trying to figure out who he looked like. Slightly more r-tarted but more roided Bam Margera

He looks like Badger from Breaking Bad also

Flyers dodged a major bullet with that Carlsson dude. Did not want. They'll be just fine without some dude I never heard of. Keep your picks and cap space and continue to build organically like they have been.

Couldn't disagree more. He would have slotted guys where they should be rather than where they have to be because there is no other choice. Flyers, without argument, have the least skilled group of centers in the league. Not one of them is even a #2 C. We have cap space but dont have good enough players of our own to really use it. As for building a team, the minors have no top end talent and the last two drafts didn't help at all in that regard.

Saw that yesterday. It’s ridiculous. How is Philly said to have the 2nd best roster in the NFL but be Tier 3 on this?

That graphic is "Best set their QB up for success" whatever that means. I would want to know what the qualifiers are but I don't think having the Eagles ranked at above average is that crazy. Assuming it's just skill players it's an older RB in Barkley, Smith with a mixed bag of other WR's and a declining Goedert. There's also a lot on defense that did some lifting to "2nd best roster" that isn't being considered here.

I do disagree with a lot of the other teams rankings though

I disagree. Giving up 4 firsts for a guy who has done nothing in this league plus making him the highest paid player in the NHL is ridiculous. They should continue to build how they have been. They were one of the 8 best teams in the NHL this past season. They are ahead of schedule. They draft and develop well, it's how they became ahead of schedule in the first place. Keep the picks, continue to stockpile young talent. Or use them to make a trade for someone if someone is available. This is one of the most promising young up and coming teams in all of pro sport. They have picks, they have cap room, young talent. Tons of flexibility. Don't blow it all on "Leo Carlsson"

And also I reject the idea of "OMG they need a 1C!" Just construct a really good roster, man. We get way too caught up on this numbers nonsense. Same when people say the Eagles need a Safety 1. Ok, sure if I could just take a superstar safety from another team and add him to the Eagles I'd do it, but it's not required to win a championship, and what constitutes a "1" is subjective anyway. Michkov... that guy is gonna be a superstar. He's so freaking talented. He can be your "1C" and if he doesn't develop like the consensus expects then they can go out and draft and develop one, promote one of their farm system guys when they're read or trade for one.

This is the most optimistic I've been about the Flyers since like 2004.

I think the importance of a 1C is much more important to a team than a Safety so not sure how valid that argument is. The 1C is essentially the QB (so very important) and makes it easier for the Martone's, Foersters of the world to do there thing.

I like Michkov but he's a winger not a C and you can't just promote someone and expect them to be a potentially dominating 1C. Hoping we still make a run at Fantilli. I think the Flyers fans would love his game.

Doesn't have to be safety it could be anything. I think the only things you 100% need to win championships in sports are a QB1 and an NBA superstar. Other than that, sure it would be nice to have other things, but just build a good, deep team.

But restricted free agency is never going to be the way to go to improve. Especially if the players are young. I think it's terrible for both sides. On one side to even have a chance to pry these guys away you need to vastly overpay and sacrifice 4 picks. On the other side, no team is just going to let a guy they drafted in their early 20s walk, it's terrible optics. Restricted free agency is a waste of time, a fool's errand.

They need to take their time and let the opportunity present itself and not try to force it. Don't rush, that's how you mess up a build. Carlsson will probably be available for trade in a year or two anyway, the Ducks are gonna be so capped out. If he proves to be really good, you'll probably be able to trade for him in a couple years for less than the RFA would've netted the Ducks. Guys will become available. Guys will become disgruntled and want to leave. Keep the cap space and picks and they'll be fine in the long run. They'll be better next season. Good enough to win a cup? Don't know, but I do know if they try to rush it they definitely won't get there.

There isn't a more delusional fan base than Flyers fans.

Lane locked in, he can’t wait.

This is not one of the most promising and upcoming teams. Buffalo, San Jose, Anaheim are those teams.

As for MM, couldn't agree more, but not certain it will happen here. Tocchet is not a fan and if he treats MM the way he did last year, he will ask out. The Dump and Chase, grind in corners game of Tocchet doesn't match him at all. With Martone, MM, Bump, Barkey all in the NHL (Bump and Barkey are 3rd/4th line guys). the pipeline is meager. Outside of Martone, the 2025 draft picks are all toss ups to make the NHL. Nesbitt will get a chance, but like most of our recent picks, he don't have NHL skating ability. Luchanko does, but he lacks so many other skills needed to play C in the NHL. Love the Flyers, but they are stuck in the mud without some centers that are more than 3s or 4s. Not to mention the historically league worst PP that has been for years because we haven't had a defenseman that can QB it for about a decade. Flyers have made the playoffs 6 times in the last 16 seasons, advancing past the first round 2x. Don't know what schedule you adhere to, but they aren't ahead of it. Beating the Penguins was great, but that team is a geriatric collection of mediocre besides Sid.

Crazy to me how a few weeks ago people were talking about him doing serious prison time and now he's on the verge of signing with a new team lol

The NFL only cares if it's gambling.

Howie could be one of the other two teams not listed lol

Honestly though hope he is not. I wanted Riq last year. Hoping he works out and gets an extension

Both can be true. NFL won't do anything before the legal process plays out. He could still do prison time. Or take a plea deal. But after all that is when the NFL will make any decisions about suspensions. Teams can sign him if they feel like it but they shouldn't be expecting immediate contributions.

There's really no chance we extend Riq. If he plays well, we can't afford to pay him along with Q and Coop (both extension eligible after this season). Plus, we still have to pay JC. If he plays poorly, then we won't want him.

He's a one and done no matter what.

I'd think there's a good chance he's placed on the Commissioner's Exempt list if he signs anywhere. NFL will want him off the field - did the same thing with AP.

Yea, I would be surprised if they didn’t. I meant formally announcing a suspension until it all plays out. Either way it seems like he’s got somewhat of a long road ahead before playing again.

Most of the teams who win the Stanley Cup have and are led by a top 10-15 center (Aho this year, Barkov a few times, etc.)
