I can’t imagine some dude buying an NFL team and saying his wife is in control. That’d be the fu€kin day

Maybe his wife is better suited to be the controlling owner. Smart people make smart decisions.

You’re clearly a hardcore lib

I think Jalen Carter will have his contract done by camp so in the coming couple weeks.

Your trolling is showing. This post is an Aaron Nola Special.

Not even remotely trolling. Wtf is an optimistic troll anyway?

But this proves my point. Flyers fans are so woe is me and so negative that they take optimistic views as trolling. Flyers fans have basically become a caricature and just get off on hearing themselves whine about the team. Nothing is ever good enough. Team could trade a 2nd rounder for McDavid tomorrow and they'd still find a way to complain about that. No offense, but it's insufferable. Team just made the playoffs, look promising, are super fun to watch, and won a playoff series. Enjoy the team and be a little happy.

Nah, I'm hard-core make the best decision. I'm also hard-core no presumption. Just because a person is good at Private Equity/Venture Cap doesn't mean they are good professional sports team owners. Sixers and Commanders and Devils can attest to that.

And of course that means every wealthy couple is exactly the same. Maybe the men you know married imbeciles. Perhaps if they married women smarter than them they wouldn't be as vacuous as they claim their wives to be. But I doubt it.

Kind of funny how TO ended up being more endeared by the city than McNabb. Don’t think anyone would have believed that 20 years ago.

He no longer contractually has to sit in front of a room full of media who want to lead him in to providing them with a sound bite.

What youre left with is a charasmatic guy who actually still comes around and participates in charity events.

McNabb is almost always nowhere to be seen, and if he does talk, its usually still talking about drama that happened here.

I know TO wasnt innocent, but I never hated him as much as most people did. Everyone remembers sit ups in the driveway and that was a mess. But most of the time he was mistreated by media.

TO was as guilty as everyone thought he was. Mcnabb just wasn’t innocent either.

Mcnabb has a rough personality. TO is entertaining when he’s getting what he wants and is on your side.

Not sure either one deserves to be remembered all that fondly.

TO’s performance in the Super Bowl coming back from the broken leg deserves to be remembered fondly. I don’t know if that means him as a whole, but that will always stay with me. I do think McNabb overall deserves to be remembered fondly. He helped spearhead the overall successful run this team has been on for 25 years now.

But a big part of the reason why he kind of isn’t remembered in a good light has a lot to do with his personality and is his own fault. Any time he’s around the team or city for anything, it feels ego based and self-centered. I think even a guy like Vick has generated more goodwill than McNabb post-career because he’s relatable, the players love him, and not everything he does feels like it’s about him like McNabb.

People get hurt in football all the time and eventually return. What makes TO's case more remarkable? He broke his Fibula and was out 7 weeks. In 2002 McNabb broke his fibula, played 3 quarters on the injury, helping the Eagles beat Arizona and inspiring his teammates (especially on defense) to elevate their game in his absence. He also returned after 7 weeks. A normal broken fibula timeline is about 6-8 weeks. I also remember in that Super Bowl, seeing Owens do everything he could to avoid blocking on run plays while Pinkston, who also had a great game actually triggered his injury on a play where he was blocking in the open field for Westbrook. Pinkston threw his body at a tackler, was spun around in the air and landed awkwardly on his seat. He never returned in that game due to cramping in his hamstring and Eagles fans never stopped mocking him for that. The lesson to be learned is: "for who? for what?" There's no reason a player should risk himself if he wants to be remembered "fondly" in Philadelphia.

Pretty predictable list. Kinda shocked Prescott is that high but not really.

The most interesting name on that list is Maye. Dude was a deer in headlights in the Super Bowl. The moment was clearly too big for him. We’ll see how he does with a clear #1 WR.
