This is not one of the most promising and upcoming teams. Buffalo, San Jose, Anaheim are those teams.

As for MM, couldn't agree more, but not certain it will happen here. Tocchet is not a fan and if he treats MM the way he did last year, he will ask out. The Dump and Chase, grind in corners game of Tocchet doesn't match him at all. With Martone, MM, Bump, Barkey all in the NHL (Bump and Barkey are 3rd/4th line guys). the pipeline is meager. Outside of Martone, the 2025 draft picks are all toss ups to make the NHL. Nesbitt will get a chance, but like most of our recent picks, he don't have NHL skating ability. Luchanko does, but he lacks so many other skills needed to play C in the NHL. Love the Flyers, but they are stuck in the mud without some centers that are more than 3s or 4s. Not to mention the historically league worst PP that has been for years because we haven't had a defenseman that can QB it for about a decade. Flyers have made the playoffs 6 times in the last 16 seasons, advancing past the first round 2x. Don't know what schedule you adhere to, but they aren't ahead of it. Beating the Penguins was great, but that team is a geriatric collection of mediocre besides Sid.

No one projected them to make the playoffs last season, in fact many thought they'd be a bottom 10 team, and they were one of the 8 best teams in the NHL. That to me is ahead of schedule. They had a better record than one of the teams in the Cup Finals.

But knowing Flyers fans since they are always miserable and can never enjoy anything, I'm guessing that will just be called a fluke and they actually aren't good. Because god forbid Flyers fans ever allow themselves to believe in the team or get excited about them.

I don't think anyone honestly views the Flyers as one of the 8 best teams in the NHL. They were very fortunate to play an old washed Penguins team in round 1 that also was not expecting to be in the playoffs. They are not close to contention.

Probably Miami...but maybe not!

I do not disagree with this.

He's just hedging his bets, so when Hurts looks awful in this new offense, he'll have those excuses to fall back on.

He won't look awful at all. He will again be one of the main reasons the Eagles are contending this season.

You mean Flyers fans and Eagle fans who can't enjoy what Hurts has done are similar? As a Flyers fan since 1970 I'm realistic about them. They had a decent season, but nothing more. Their recent drafts have been depressing outside of MM and Martone.

I am really not looking forward to Lebron James coming to Philly. So, I'm going to hold out hope that he takes his ridiculous side show talents to some place else.

I can't stand LeBron, his flopping, attitude, etc.

Right but, when he comes to Philly we will embrace it.

Just like how Jaylen Brown couldnt do anything without pushing off, but now we learned that pushing off is actually the proper way to play.

Off topic - I just read on NFL.com that the Houston Texans have worked out Terrion Arnold on thursday according to ESPN. the article goes on to say the judge says Arnold does not have to wear a GPS monitor as a condition of his release.

Some may. I will not. I have no interest in Lebron's circus.

Well...it's something. You've gotta get his kid on the team. The 4th best player on the team is going to demand and command every nuance inside and outside the locker room. The coach is instantly emasculated and handcuffed in his control over the team.

It still materially increases their chances of winning a title next year. Call it what you want, but the presence of Lebron on the team is a thing. And, excluding the very meaningful favorable calls and invisible hand pushing the Lebron 76ers towards a championship, I'd much rather avoid the circus and just have a more anonymous player of his exact capabilities instead. But that's not an option, so he would be a "welcomed" addition.

The real Lebron thing to do would be San Antonio.

Almost guarantees a championship. He gets to undercut the competing legacy of Wemby because he got his first title with Lebron. And if Wemby can't repeat after Lebron retires, it's game over.

I’m far more optimistic than you are, I think that is the worst season they are going to have in the next 5+ years and it’s all uphill from here. That was year one of their ascent. And they have a lot of really good young players, they draft and develop really well so they are stocked with good young talent. And maybe most importantly Briere is the next great GM in this city, that guy is special. He’s patient, strikes when he needs to, but doesn’t panic and makes really good trades. I love the work he’s done and having a great GM at the top usually always keeps you competitive long term.

Yeah, I don't see a stocked system. I see a system filled with a prototype to fit a system. An antiquated one at that.

Furthermore, they don't have the centers to maximize the talent on the wings which is why they went so hard at Carlsson. That lack of center talent is why DB suggested they could take a step back this season. Carlsson would have moved Zegras to #2C, Dvorak to #3C, Coots to 4(would be Cates but Coots isn't tradeable). Carlsson would have made a huge difference. Right now it's likely Dvorak, Zegras, Cates, Coots 1-4. Zegras was our top scoring C last season( he played alot of RW so not all points are as a C) and he was 25th in the league. Dvorak had a career year and ranked 52nd. Cates was 59 (career year) Coots was 83rd. Now, this is only center rankings. If you just lump them in with all forwards, their rankings drop into the hundreds. Dvorak was #123 in scoring. As a group, they just have no juice. Well, Zegras has some and I think if they keep him at C he can be a solid #2.

Yeah, duh! I think the wildcards list is key. We absolutely don’t know.

I think John is reading too much into the late OL addition of Jordan. Eagles need three deep OL for TC/Preseason and later the PS.

I so agree with McDonald on this.

It's great that Jalyx Hunt went to this. He seems really dedicated to growing.

That's just them trying to sound profound. You have to call the RIGHT TYPE OF PLAY against
the defense you are seeing. The results are on THE PLAYERS, did the players execute it properly,
not the type of play called.
