I can already hear everyone flipping out, but if they were to sign Kenny Moore and play him at nickel corner and move Dejean to safety full time the defense would be a lot better than it is right now. I would also keep Dejean at nickel unless they can get another elite nickel, but Moore is just that.

If Moore was on the same level as Dejean at nickel I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t have been cut

When did I or anyone for that matter say he was on the same level at Dejean? My point since apparently you didn't get it is that Moore at nickel and Dejean at safety makes the Eagles defense better than Dejean at nickel and Epps at safety.

He just got a new contract a year or 2 ago and at the time was widely considered the best nickel in the game.

I will add that if the Pats were to somehow back out of this gentleman’s agreement, the Eagles should raise hell to the league office about investigating Vrabel for tampering. Does anyone actually believe he didn’t talk to Brown about wanting him in NE?

We don’t know that it has. I think it could be closer to Howie asking what the most they’d be willing to give up is generally speaking than actually verbally consummating a deal. Meaning Howie is ok with what they’re willing to give up but they haven’t hammered out the specifics of what will be included. Which years and rounds, etc.

But if a deal is verbally agreed to I think that bodes better for the Eagles. I don’t think Howie would agree to a deal ahead of time unless it was a very good offer. If you believe the word that he turned down their 2026 1st, I don’t think he’d then turn around and accept a worse deal value-wise than that. "No I don’t want your 2026 1st but I’ll take a deal for your 2028 1st and also throw in our 3rd” is clown negotiating.

I don't think the blog had a collective take on his value. I think Howie's positon has been clear that he is willing to trade Brown but he would need a boatload prior to June 1st. It's been obvious that any deal for Brown had to be done after June 1st. What has been reported is a 2027 2nd or 3rd round pick along with a 2028 1st as the high end of what the Eagles get. I think that would be great value for Brown. I don't know that there's been a consensus on what the trade will be. Some people have been vocal that Howie has overplayed his hand. I don't think that's the case. I think Howie knows what the market for a trade is for him. They don't want him staying in the NFC. I do think Howie would trade him in the NFC if he had a buyer that would give more value. My guess is that the Eagles will add in a pick to get back multiple picks. I don't think they would send a day 1 or 2 pick back but they could.

The leverage the Eagles have is that the Patriots want AJ Brown. There is a market for Brown. If that price was one 3rd round pick, I think the market would be much bigger and the price would go up. If the price was one 2nd round pick, I think the Eagles would have multiple offers. The Chargers, Raiders and Ravens certainly would be in the market for him as would the Rams. My guess is there likely is a deal. It will be something like AJ Brown + 5th in 2027 for a 2028 1st and 2027 3rd.

Brown and a 1st to the Raiders for Crosby and a 3rd or 4th. F the patriots, they get nothing. Make it happen Howie. 🙏

This is why I have zero fear of a backed out deal or even a weak one.

Howie went after Arizona for a 3rd. He will get nuclear over this if they pull out.

What if more Vrabel stuff comes out over the next two weeks and decides to step down as head coach? Long shot i know but what happens then?

If we’re talking about nice guys I have to give a shout out to former Eagle FB Cecil Martin. When he was drafted by the Birds he was living in his car. Po James was po but Cecil was more po. I was doing some research back then at the public library and he was there almost daily reading to kids in the children’s section. A very quiet and humble man but a hug from him was like being embraced by a trash compactor.

Martin did TV over here for a good numbers of years once his career ended and always came across as just a solid and likeable dude. He did some coaching and other activities for the NFL around the coverage.

Not sure what he's up to now tho.

Lurie and Kraft have a good relationship. I can't see them backing out of a deal without that damaging that relationship.
