I’ve been around a bit longer, but I’ll do mine as a cross-section of different sports and let others flame at it:Baseball — Ken Griffey Jr. (I would entertain Ohtani as an argument here; I haven’t watched him much)Hockey — Mario Lemieux had the prototypical physical attributes and skill, but his back never held up long-term, and the cancer, of course ….Tennis — Novak Djokovic is the best all-around player I’ve seen. Hard to compare generations because they changed the courts, ball, etc. to get rid of the bomb serve-and-volley players winning points on two hits. Alcaraz and Sinner will pile up grand slams unless someone comes along to challenge them Basketball — agree with Jordan. It’s a generational debate, as when I was growing up everyone said Kareem or Russell or WiltFootball — so many choices but I would lean towards Jerry Rice …. or Walter Payton on offense; Lawrence Taylor or Reggie White on defense
May 9May 9 This connection is going to be lethal this year. They have been attached at the hip all off-season. I think the reps they got in those flag football games too was super valuable.

May 9May 9 Best I ever saw was probably Andrew Knapp. That one 700 foot HR he hit was incredible and I had several scouts and GMs tell me that he could average 60 home runs per season and it capable of 80+. I never saw a talent like that before and I may never again.

I think he's remembered more for "what he could have been" rather than "what he actually was". His talent was obviously freakish. And while he was a good player who showed amazing flashes, he was never really a great player. In either sport. IMO.

Never had a great season in either sport in total but was good in both. There's a lot of athletes who were on track for something better than what they got because of injury

IMO.Only player in history to make both the NFL pro-bowl and MLB All Star team - that in itself speaks volumes.Career average of 5.4 Yards per carry in the NFL. (That's elite for a RB)Averaged 33 Home runs and 20 stolen bases per 162 games played at the MLB level. (All Star Level)Overrated? Not even close, imoIf health wasn't an issue he could have been a perennial All Star in MLB and a perennial All pro in the NFL - no other player in history comes close - in 2 separate sports at the highest level.Ohantani is the only modern era player he compares to - only because Ohantani is doing it both as a pitcher and batter at the MLB level - but even so, it is ONE sport compared to two.
May 10May 10 I think with Bo Jackson, he never really committed to the NFL full time and that may have not set well with some football fans. His NFL career was short (because of the hip injury) and ultimately that caused him to leave baseball early too. He usually played around 10 games a season and still split carries with Marcus Allen (HOFer). I don't think he was overrated. He scared defenses. But ultimately, his contribution to the NFL was very low because he only was available for 60% of his team's games and his NFL career ended in his 4th season. There's a strong argument to make about what he could have done (or been) in an unshortened career ... just like there is for Gale Sayers and Jerome Brown.
May 10May 10 Hurts has the stupidest cycling pants I have ever seen. The fit of those pants is something like the 88 year old grandpa in his 1990s era windbreaker track suit. The shoes match. Old man shoes. Even Lurie is looking cooler.
May 10May 10 Was hoping the Flyers could win a game or two. At least the experience will help going forward. Still think they need to somehow get a top Dman and a top center to get to a cup.Tomorrow is going to be worse having to watch the Sixers season end in a sweep as well and Knicks fans are the worst

As disappointing as this series performance was and the fact they could have won at least two games but blew it, gotta tip the hat some for making the playoffs and winning a series. If anything, hopefully this shows Comcast Spectacor the city and people outside still support the Flyers and will support it if they invest into building a playoff team.
May 10May 10 Sounds like the stupid hockey season is over. Hopefully there is a lockout next season that lasts forever.

A handful of flag football reps are going to make all the difference in the evolving the chemistry of two guys that have been playing together for about 7 years across college and the NFL. Really glad they got those in.

Ringo and Calcaterra are almost certain off the roster. AJ will soon depart. With all the additions recently, there are competitions in every group. Not sure how they are going to sort things out. Cutting some good ones would seem wasteful, but necessary in the name of competition.
