Fair enough - thanks for clearing that up for me, I was obviously confused by the intent.

And as for punctuation, I'm fairly hopeless there and have just made up my own system.

Understood. My wife says about me that "If it can’t be put into a spreadsheet, for Matt it doesn’t exist.” She is pretty much right, and since spreadsheets start with boxes, I pretty much start my consideration of rosters beginning with the empty boxes of a depth chart and then fill those boxes with player names. Back in the Early 80s when I was working on user manuals for my company’s computer software offerings, I insisted that each manual had to have two indexes, one that alphabetically described each term name used in the manual, and a second one that was organized by a”how do I use it” list of the business functions that the software was designed to address with the page numbers of where to find that business function described. That functional index was a lot like your "own system” of punctuation.

Agreed 100%. However, until the terminology is changed it is still the terminology and the boxes of a depth chart printed out on paper will still be the same.

BTW, which side of the Oxford Comma debate do you fall into?

Punctuate:

I'm definitely a serial comma guy.

How would you punctuate your first example if you add twigs to the list?

For me your second one would be as follows, Time flies; I can’t. They fly too fast.

Always use the final comma. It removes any potential ambiguity.

Thoughts on the roster at this point: I think there are 42 players (which includes Lampkin/Robinson/Hollywood Brown/Epps/Peyton and Greenard not on PUP) and 46 positions locked in.

The 4 locked in positions (roster spots 43-46) with the players fighting for them:

QB2: McKee/Dalton (likely McKee)
DE5: Espensa/Weru
CB4: Jones/McWilliams
S3: Carter/Wisniewski (likely Carter)

That leaves 7 available roster spots (47-53) to pick from with the following players fighting for them:

CB5: Jones or McWilliams (the one not picked above)/Ringo
DT6: Bernard
LB5: Chance Campbell
WR6: Elijah Moore
TE4/FB: Latu/Calcaterra/Steele
DE6: Espensa or Weru (the one not picked above)
IOL6 (OL10): Morris/Majors/Jordan
S4: Carter or Wisniewski (the one not picked above)/Pulley
CB6: Ringo
OT5 (OL11): Cam Williams/Hinton
LS - Underwood

I do too with one exception … where the final two items are a pair and all the other items in the list are singles.

That’s the ZZ Top approach.

I'm hoping for some silver ro be implemented.

Been waiting for that in terms of the kelly greens, but Nike doesn't have the technology or something.

I’d like to see them actually try to do something with the silver in our color scheme. Sometimes it seems like the amateur designers on the internet forget we’re not the just Jets with bird wings

I think I remember seeing a very silver design (jersey and helmet) with a yellow face mask, that was pretty wild (well, tame compared to the CityConnect monstrosities).

With Lemon having come back, it would not surprise me to see Stowers start the year on IR thanks to his hamstring injury. That would give Howie another slot. I also expect the Long Snapper to be a roster cut with the Practice Squad as a destination. That would also be a slot maximization move.

With that said, Epenesa over Weru, but both make it to the 53-man.

For Jones/McWilliams, the question for me is whether Jones is healthy enough.

Carter over Wiz based on versatility.

My choices from your list at the end are:

Ringo

Bernard

Campbell

Moore

Latu

Weru

Morris

Majors

I also believe Fred Johnson is a poor attributes match to Mannion’s scheme, but a good match to other NFL schemes and Howie will look to trade him and pick up a cut casualty OT who matches the needs of the Mannion scheme better. But he won’t be in any rush to do so.

QB - 3 - 3

RB - 3 - 6

WR - 6 - 12 with Moore in and Covey to the PS

TE - 3 - 15 with Mundt and Latu behind Goedert

OL - 11 - 26 with 5 starters plus Bell, Kendall, Lampkin, Morris, Majors, and Fred or his replacement.

Edge - 6 - 32 includes 5 plus Weru

DT - 6 - 38 includes 5 plus Bernard

LB - 4 - 42 Chance Campbell was my Final Cut

Kicker - 1 - 43

Punter - 1 - 44

DBs - 9 - 53

What would it take to get Mason Taylor from the Jets who just spent a mid 1st on Sadiq?

Eagles had interest in Taylor a year ago.

Most teams are going to want 2 good TEs so they probably aren't very interested in trading him at all.

From IgglesBlitz.com’s game review:

Kelee Ringo might have played the best game of his Eagles career. He didn’t have a tackle, but that is because he covered well and the ball went away from him. Ringo looked good in off coverage. He ran with his receiver and stayed in good position. He was confident and alert. Ringo jumped a route early in the game. Should have been a pick-six, but he dropped the ball. I now lean toward Ringo making the team. He was a pleasant surprise on Saturday night.

Yep. As I said, Ringo was the best corner for the Birds last Sunday.

Noice... maybe replace the red with some yellow trim and we got something. And yeah, she sucks.

Wrong. It’s unnecessary, annoying, and redundant.

Ideally the enormous amount of bad press on Stowers won’t further push the eagles away from athletic pass catchers. It’s nice to have some explosive athletes catching the football and we don’t have any.

Way too early on Stowers, but even it he isn’t it, I don’t want every pass catcher on the team to be a variant of the Freddie Mitchell, Nelson Agholor, Golden Tate, JJAW mold.

Justin Jefferson and Devonta Smith are in that mold too, but smith was can’t miss plug and play and we don’t find the Jefferson’s, Puka’s, or JSN’s of the world. That ain’t gonna be Lemon.

The pronoun in this sentence completely throws me off. They refers to multiple. I was not an English major. Is time considered multiple?

Wife and I went to Pigeon Forge a couple of summers ago, stayed at the HeartSong Lodge, went to Dollywood. I got her this book for Christmas that year. She keeps it on one of our side tables, her life story is incredible.

This going to very important, I think we're going to see a fair amount of blitzing until Jalen beats it with his arm (preferred) or his legs (hopefully back on the menu).

I think the big difference is that the solution to the blitz isn't 4 verticals.
