The NFL scooped up Trevor Sikkema, and also hired Brett Kollman and now they have this show together. First episode talks about what we will see in the new eagles offense.

Anyone word yet on Lane and Jordan Davis injuries from last night?

Arguably keeping them from returning helps the younger players. Hopefully it opens the opportunity for some small school to get the players.

The SEC did indeed do the right thing and then some.

"During an in-person meeting with league presidents, chancellors and athletic directors, the SEC took it even further than the Big Ten, prohibiting anyone who has previously declared for professional basketball from rejoining college athletics without appropriately withdrawing. Sources told ESPN's Pete Thamel the vote to implement the policy was 16-0 -- an important show of unity from conference leaders at a time when some of their own coaches are attempting to add players who were cut from professional teams."

I would expect the ACC and Big 12 will follow suit in the next few days. Big win for student athletes and college sports.

I would like to know if we can have Wright back now.

If the Browns released him and he hasn't signed elsewhere I don't see why not.

EDIT: I could see where he doesn't sign with another NFL team hoping to be cleared to play in college this year. There is already reports of LSU potentially suing the SEC because the SEC rule goes against the TRO and the 5 yr rule. This will continue to play out in court. On another note, Lane Kiffin is a POS.

I see the same thing. But he would be an NFL FA and could go to the highest bidder or a team that would guarantee him a roster spot.

Everyone should get comfortable with the fact the eagles next stadium will be a dome.

Brett talked disapprovingly about the naked boot cutting the field in half and, while what he said was true, what he did not mention was that the play action was to the opposite side of the field from where the QB runs his bootleg. That action draws the defense to that side. See my freeze frame below. There are eight defenders to that side of the field. There are three defenders on the side of the field with the QB. Note the defender with the arrow. He's in an impossible situation. If he stays with the crossing receiver, the QB has an easy run for the first down. If he goes for the QB there's an easy pitch-and-catch for the first down. On the actual play the WR, who was covered, goes deep and catches the throw for a big gain. So, the field may be cut in half but well more than half the defense is on the far side and with so much space in front of him the QB can make a simple decision.

Breaking: Jeff Lurie inducts himself into the Eagles HOF.

In all seriousness though, well deserved!

Yeah weird thing to do while he’s alive, but objectively deserved. Has managed to strike the balance of caring a lot, yet largely letting his FO make big decisions, and he’s willing to spend $ upfront.

I’d like to think I’d be as big a fan of the team if we had shittier ownership (Bengals come to mind…), but I really don’t know. It’s amazing the number of owners that are either awful at it football-wise or just seem to care about the team as a business.

I don’t think an undrafted guy who already pulled this stunt will be much in demand. The whole point was he’d be lucky to stick to a practice squad this year

The beats are desperate for stories with Brown gone and and ES being a bust is the new go to and many fans are going with it. He hasn't played a game. It's ridiculous.

Odd to do now even though he's had a ton of success with the team

What would happen if he were to do something in the future that would disgrace the league and team? Just get his name removed?

It's quiet and strangely normal without the toxic diva in the building. So yeah they are starving for something. Agreed. ES will be fine after his redshirt year here.

Interesting speculation on why they are doing this.

Howie does need to be looking for another TE for this season though. Stowers will play here and there. Can see him being put on IR to start the season. May get some snaps by 2nd half of season.

Julian Lurie era is approaching. Jeff doesn’t do this if he isn’t bowing out soon, in my opinion.

Lurie has never once come off as a "this team is about ME!” Type owner, like so many others.

So my guess is that junior is getting more power and orchestrated this so he can see dear old dad get inducted before he’s worm food

You're being overly sensitive, no one called him a bust and he is likely to be inactive. Hell, he might even be IR stashed. It's consensus he has not had a good camp. That doesn't mean he will be a bust, but if he was having an amazing camp people would be gushing about him, so there has to be concern when a 2nd rounder doesn't. It can't be both ways.

Aside from the weird politics of it, he and Howie were alreadylocks so it’s whatever

I have mentioned Ojukwu as competition for Fred as the active G/T during game day. (With all respect to Lampkin), I don’t think they can go with a single swing T and two C/Gs. I think OL8 has to be a G/T. I would be curious on @just relax ’s opinion on either. If that makes Lampkin OL9, it comes down to Hinton/Williams/Morris/Majors as OL10 because they will likely want a developmental player there. Ability to get to (and want to sign on the player’s part) the PS may play a factor. Same with the player that is the loser of OL8 battle. Sure looked like McKee was fighting for his life with the third string OL. Not sure who performed worse. Would love to develop all four of the candidates for OL10.

Listening to a bunch of different podcast, Fred Johnson hasn’t exactly had very good camps from mini camps to training camps according to multiple beats. Granted it’s neat reporters but it seems universal so I tend to think they also heard some info on him as well. So I wouldn’t be shocked if he was cut.

We have had so many late bloomers. Hurts Graham Mailata Davis Dean, Steen looks to be one, Kelce sort of, Jurgens did not look good early on, Ojomo took some time, even Baun was a different circumstance but still definitely belongs in the group.

This doesn’t mean anything

Lito Sheppard didn't dress the first four games of his rookie season. He was first team All-Pro two years later.
