Hopefully the fact Lane keeps himself in excellent physical condition will mean he’ll be more durable than Peters, who let himself get into rather shabby condition towards the end.

9 of the 10 names here won’t be a surprise. The curve ball is me going with John Ojukwu over Fred Johnson. I re-watched Johnson vs NE and Ojukwu vs BAL. I think Ojukwu is the better fit for the new scheme. Watch the get-off on the second play in Fran’s video.

That is what you want on the backside of run plays in this scheme. Ojukwu has played G and T. He’s played left and right side. At the least he’ll be on the PS. They could keep Fred because they know him so well, but he’s not had a great summer and doesn’t feel like a lock to me. The health of Bell and Ojukwu will factor into this. Both are dealing with minor injuries. They will keep Fred around if there is any worry of the injuries affecting availability for Week 1.

I have mentioned Ojukwu as competition for Fred as the active G/T during game day. (With all respect to Lampkin), I don’t think they can go with a single swing T and two C/Gs. I think OL8 has to be a G/T. I would be curious on @just relax ’s opinion on either. If that makes Lampkin OL9, it comes down to Hinton/Williams/Morris/Majors as OL10 because they will likely want a developmental player there. Ability to get to (and want to sign on the player’s part) the PS may play a factor. Same with the player that is the loser of OL8 battle. Sure looked like McKee was fighting for his life with the third string OL. Not sure who performed worse. Would love to develop all four of the candidates for OL10.
