Thankfully we have Quinyon, Cooper, and Woolen because the guys behind them are scary bad. Maybe Jonathan Jones has something.

As someone who loves to watch a great defense, I'm hopeful he can be anywhere close to what he was. Hell, even at 50% of his best, he's still a problem for an OL.

If Douglas is such a bad talent evaluator, why he is still around and being heard to? I thought Howie is tight with the owner. Perhaps Douglas is even tighter?

4 QBs puzzles me. Dalton does not have much trading value. If they find someone they like, it would take more than Dalton to make the trade.

Some seasons back, receiving TE was valued. Now they seem to want blocking TE at the expense of receiving skills. Using a back-up OL for blocking purposes may be more effective. TEs are in the game mainly for catching passes. To use 12 personnel, you need more than one receiving TE. Ertz coming back?

Pretty sure Howie is working something out in the next few days. We just don't know them yet.

Let’s not do the thing where we act like the unconventional idea was soooo weird in hindsight. Most of, if not all, the beats had us keeping at least one of the IPP guys on the active roster. Many of us did too. It didn’t happen, and if one of those guys gets claimed (Weru, most likely), there will be second guessing ad nauseam about the decision to cut him.

Lack of imagination (or whatever) is what bothers me. Take Jonathan Jones. He wasn't some highly prized FA, is 33 and missed the entire preseason and wasn't very good with the Skins last year. Wasn't subject to waivers. I doubt anybody else was dying to sign him. Cut him and bring him to the PS and activate him when necessary. That saves a roster spot for at least three weeks. The entire Dalton thing is a fiasco. I don't care if the recoup a 7th which is doubtful. He took snaps away from McKee and Payton. They draft a one year starting QB from a small school in the 5th and give him 27 preseason snaps. The worst thing possible now is keeping Dalton and trading McKee.

I’ll say this… Howie has earned the benefit of the doubt given the rosters he’s built over the years. But I don’t like a lot of these moves. And that’s probably the case every year for a lot of fans including myself. We see players flash in camp or preseason and we root for them.

But Dalton makes no sense. I didn’t like the trade for him and I like keeping him on the roster even less. He’s shown absolutely nothing. I don’t like keeping Ringo either. He’s shown nothing in multiple camps and years now. I don’t really like exposing Weru and Bernard to waivers but hey I guess if one or both make it through then it was the right move. I’m also not a Shipley guy and I’d have preferred they kept Pierce in all honesty.

But hey Howie probably isn’t done and he’s likely to make a few trades to tweak this roster.

They lost the Dalton trade no matter what they get back for him, if anything. He took snaps away from McKee and Payton and there is still a debate about who exactly is the #2 QB. Nothing good came or will come out of this,

Well in order to miss something you would think the new version would have to be worse. If they can get more production out of the offense this year without AJ, than they did last year with him, I would think by definition they aren’t missing him.

I get your point that maybe if he stayed he would thrive in this offense but that’s a different topic IMO.

For me, if they can be an above average offense ( which I think they can) then it was well worth cutting out the weirdo cancer.

To each their own but I don’t like to live in the what ifs. It comes across as whiny tbh. Now what should they do now I’m all about. Curious what comes today and if not much then I expect Howie to make an in season trade. He can’t sit on the sidelines for too long.

Mind you we say Howie’s been quiet and they’ve traded for Greenard and Wicks and traded away AJ

Yes, too early to put the final grade on a draft class. But this one has had the Joe Douglas stink all over it from the beginning and early returns are worrying. Which is no surprise at all. Joe Douglas is terrible.

I agree this draft didn't feel right. A small slow WR in the first that cost us an additional two 4th round picks and a TE in the 2nd with absolutely no blocking ability. We've done a good job the past few years on day 1 & 2. Maybe not this year. We'll know by next September

I find the consternation over the last five guys on the roster immediately after cuts to be fascinating. Waiting for the vitriol when someone is claimed today. (Remember Noah Togia) I admit that at times there is relevance to a player lost in the process. But the reality is that the first 35 or so guys on the team will determine how this season goes.

As for yesterday, I am onboard with the frustration at QB. As I stated on Saturday, this may be a struggle between Howie and Mannion over McKee. I see the point the PHLY guys made that they needed Jenkins and Moore to be here for week 1 because Lemon and Stowers don't look to be ready. I'll be sad if Weru gets claimed.

But remember, the larger goal this offseason was to turn our attention to the offense. And, IMO, they have done really well at OL. Kendall, Bell, Lampkin, and Morris look to be a very capable set of back ups this season. And with the prospect of Lane, Dickerson, and Steen not being here next season, they have potential answers already in the building.

September 2027...maybe

Over the past decade there are very few year 1 impact starters that we've drafted in rounds 1/2. Mitchell, Dejean, Carter, Smith, Dickerson, Sanders, Wentz? There are plenty of guys we drafted there who still ended up being great for us but took time/opportunity before hitting like Seumalo, Williams, Nolan Smith, Goedert, Hurts, Davis, Jurgens.

Hell the jury is still out on Campbell and Mukuba too as far as I'm concerned.

Donald is going to put up good sack numbers, but I suspect it’ll be easy to run on him and he’ll need to be rotated a lot.

The rams line will be plenty dangerous. But the Donald hype has far exceeded what he’s actually going to do at this age.

I suspect he’ll offer far less in the pass rush, but I bet Ojomo, as an example, will be a better all around DT this year than Donald.
