6 WRs, 4 QBs, and EJ Jenkins means we cut some good players.

This is a game of risk. I suspect that some QB needy teams played chicken for their targets. Basically declining a trade and daring a cut. I will be surprised if the Eagles have four QBs on the 53 by the time they play the commies. Moore beat out Covey, at least until Lemon is ready. E.J. Jenkins is a place holder. Stowers isn’t healthy or ready. Heck, Epenesa is likely a place holder until Greenard is ready. Won’t surprise me if Howie makes some waiver claim attempts or veteran signing. Look at the list of released versus waived. Release can sign on an active roster immediately.

Sometimes Howie's ego gets in the way. He won't admit the Dalton mistake. Nobody would give anything for Dalton so that tells me McKee may be gone in a trade. I really don't get Jenkins over Latu. Absolutely nobody is claiming Jenkins. Would have liked to have kept Wilson or Bernard, preferably Wilson.

If the 4th QB is legitimately a STs contributor, he may have taken the Latu roster slot.

Only makes sense to load up if they can play.

I am going to trust the Eagles this point...it feels to me like the league, in general, are holding onto their chips in value position. The Eagles certainly have a better grasp of what the perception across the league is right now than anyone in here. I believe the Eagles are waiting for a couple of teams to shoot their wad first...and then the action will begin...what I do know is that what we are seeing is NOT the final roster

Between Dalton, Jenkins, Moore and Underwood - 4 potential spots to try and protect some younger talent like Uar and Weru.

Some very unHowie-like roster construction/thinking

The Moore retention makes no sense to me given he is a vested veteran and if he is on the roster Week One his full year’s salary is guaranteed.

I think the biggest gripe I have about this roster, same as last years roster, is that there has been no real return specialists. If Covey gets claimed, they are screwed unless they get lucky and a guy falls in their laps from these cuts.

Shipley and Bigsby are both good at KORs.

they both return. neither are good at it.

They had a golden chance to IR Stowers instead of Bennett. He has a legit hamstring and no way he would play the first four games in a meaningful capacity. That would have saved a spot. Waiving Underwood and putting him on the practice squad would have been another. Nobody is claiming Underwood and if they did Cal Adomitis is available. Howie is usually good at stuff like that.

Who’s to say they don’t IR Stowers tomorrow. They only had two designated to return tags for preseason.

LOL. I can’t imagine how they can replace his 11 yards per return career average. Impossible

I think the Bears and Rams, in particular are setting the standard with a reliance on multiple TE's. If the Eagles are truly going to be run first with the OZ, and a shorter passing game...it makes sense to load up on TE's.

I'm good with that but how many strictly blocking TEs do they need

We could win a Super Bowl this year. We can’t waste roster spots on players who can’t help right now.

Bernard looked stiff to me. Weru looked like he had some potential, good get off good acceleration and bend.

He's got to get way better at hand fighting . Hope he makes it back to PS.

Bernard im not so sure, hes a workout warrior not a football player.

He wasn’t good at setting the edge.

They saw that there was a market for McCord and figured there has to be a market for ANY QB. They are all playing chicken against each other... Howie included.

But, Cole Payton looks like he's a ST player, not a QB.

Regarding your final comment, that may be why he was kept and Latu was let go.

I trust Howie. We'll see what happens but there is one QB and probably 2 TEs who can't help them win a SB and have no future. I wouldn't have kept both and even though they have a lot of edge guys Weru would have stayed if it was me....or Majors.

Then I would question why they heck they wasted them on Bennett and Calcy....the risk / reward of exposing a potential young talent development player vs releasing those guys just doesn't stack up for me

Majors I think will be back on PS

Hopefully. I could see a team weak at C/G taking a shot on him

They are good … but definitely short of great.

oh ok.

Rams = Dodgers.

They’ll kill the League this season.

I think Tank is good at it he just can’t catch it.

I do think we had Kendall and Lamkin comfortably ahead of him. And the upside is there with Morris. So its lower down priority for me

I actually feel way better about interior OL depth post TC than I did heading into it - though there are concerns with Dickerson.

We’ll see. They are counting on some very key older guys not to get injured including Stafford.

With the current KO rules the opportunity for any KOR to be great is pretty small.

I will defer to @FranklinFldEBUpper regarding his ball security as a KOR.
