EMB Blog: 2026 Regular Season (Part 1)

DeJean I also think has been banged up, he wasn't moving well since week 1. If he's not hurt then I don't know. Could just be one of those years. Could be missing Christian Parker has impacted everyone. Could be that he looks like he put on 20 lbs of weight(maybe to help cross train at safety) and it's impacted his ability to move. He just doesn't move like he did last season.

Bro, lol, what more do you need to see to realize this run is OVER and it's time to start building for the future.

I wouldn't want to trade Baun unless the offer was great

They're going to change the flexing rule because of us lol

They should have flexed the Steelers/Browns game and bumped this one out.

I doubt Howie will trade Ojomo just because he is likely going to sign a massive contract which would net a 3rd round compensatory pick. Players usually don't get dealt for big returns at the deadline but I am thinking they could probably get a 3rd for Saquon, and a 5th for Goedert and Woolen.

Eh…pretty sure Ojomo’s play has cost him money. Not sure we’re getting a 3rd rounder. Also, we are going to have to sign some players this offseason, so playing the comp pick game may be tougher.

I see very little chance they trade Barkley.

The Jets traded away Quinnen Williams and Sauce Gardner last year.

I wouldn't call that a fire sale with what they received back. Think I received about 3 first rounds and a second. Jets made Bank on those trades.

Plus usually a fire sale is three or more trades which is why I asked for an example of three- five trades

Heard Cooper DeJean leads the league in missed tackles. What a bummer he has been this year

I can't handle that possibility today

Shocking that Jason Avant comes with that moronic take. He is utterly horrendous at his job. I never thought someone else on that panel could knock Barrett Brooks off the worst spot.

They traded their two best players on defense. Take the L and move on.

I still think Ojomo gets a 2nd or a 3rd+. And Woolen gets a 3rd or a 4th+.

Gotta realize that teams are desperate at the trade deadline, they want to go all in, the extra seeds open up the trade market for more teams so the bidding goes up. Every deadline is a seller's market. Teams will talk themselves into players, especially if they're young. I mean look at some of the overpays the Eagles have done over the years for guys not playing well and hoping they'd turn it around.

We saw what a desperate Ravens team gave up for Jurgens who was playing about as poorly as one could play. Desperate teams are willing to play and they are aplenty at the deadline.

Bro… teams turn it around quick. This isn’t baseball. Just because your team stinks doesn’t mean you have to trade every single good veteran. Baun still has a good seasons ahead of him and is a pro bowl quality player at a position the Eagles consistently are bad at drafting and developing.

It’s also not a good look when trying to recruit potential free agents.

You all quit so easily.

In my question I specifically asked for examples of a single team that traded three- five times right before the trade deadline.

Giving an example that comes short of the specifications does not meet the criteria. So I'm still looking for that example. I truly don't know if it's been done that's why I'm asking but I do want to see an example of a true fire sale which is listed as three or more

I would take a 2027 4th for Ojomo. The comp pick wouldn’t be until 2028 and who knows what deal he signs in the offseason. I think he will get good money but I don’t know if a team is going to throw $100M at him like they did with Milton Williams. Even if he qualified for a comp 3, it may not even be that big of a difference in draft slot from a 4 and it’s a year earlier.

The other thing I hate about the comp pick game is it basically forces you to sit out of free agency.

You guys should just write a letter to Lurie asking him to replace Howie with Billy Beane

The offense tried their best given the circumstances and proved to be OK against a really bad Dallas defense. They'll probably be worse against a good defense, but at least they tried hard.

The defense, well, they're supposed to be, what does Sirianni say? Tough, Detailed, Together?

They were not tough. They were physically man handled all game and should be embarrassed.

They paid no attention to detail.

Well at least they were together...the problem was that they quit together.

Laziness demonstrates a bad attitude and attitude reflects leadership. The coaching staff is to blame for not being able to motivate the players. That assumes the players consistently want to do their best, which is suspect now for many. That laziness cannot be ignored or tolerated without consequences. Doing nothing will reaffirm that laziness is fine and reward the lazy.

I think Sirianni has lost the team. Not surprised since he's little more than a cheerleader with no game management skills, nor any demonstrated X's and O's acumen. Cheering alone isn't working any more.

I think Howie has a great deal of work to do and there is little margin for error doing it. He should trade a few of the lazy players for the best draft capital he can get, and start looking for a new coaching staff that is proven. Then he must do what is hardest for him and then give them full control. Give them the raw materials, then step back, and let them create the finished product.

Time will tell the tale of the Philadelphia Eagles going forward. I hope it's a tale worth telling. We'll see.

They aren't going to trade Baun and Barkley. Unless some team offers something ridiculous. And DeJean is laughable, that's not happening. Again, unless they get like a 1st+.

But Ojomo, Woolen, Goedert, Hollywood, Dickerson, etc are of course in play. Possibly even Steen.

Releases, yes. Nothing with trades. And anyway the releases have to be at the start of the new league year in March. Anything that happens between now and then is Post June 1 rules.

Thanks for the clarification.

In that case, then Dickerson/Woolen/Barkley/Goedert should all be traded pending fair valuations.

The biggest thing this team needs is a new voice at HC. I wouldnt stop there. Bring in a new guy and let him choose his own OC and DC. But no more of this cheerleader/CEO bs. Every tradable contract should be on the table.

I would be for trading Barkley. I think we ran him into the ground

Well one has already been traded, so 2 more?

coop is switching between safety & nickel and is suddenly bad at both.

I wouldn't trade him for anything less than a 2nd+. He's still good and will be a selling point to coaches after the season.

It does feel like a seller's market when you look at the Jurgens trade. If the getting is that good, I'm all ears about everyone except Q. I think we have exhausted this crew at this point.
