I think we have exhausted this crew at this point. We were fortunate that the Ravens were DESPERATE for a center.

Gaps open up in front of them and they just wait patiently for the OL to block at the second level.

I'm not saying he is. But he's been not good for about a year and a half. There's just too many excuses being made in here for him. Potential is one thing. But getting better in your craft and showing the effort is another.

I think they used him better than they have. Made some tough catches through contact. Not sure why everyone needs to dial up the hyperbole up to 11 with the guy though. I've heard "He looked great/amazing" and the "Where are the Lemon haters now???"The dude had like 70 yards, not 200 yards. It's so bizarre that people are ready to call Mukuba a bust already, but for Lemon to be considered playing well he just needs to get open on a few plays a game and not actually catch passes, and for Lemon to be considered playing great and "silencing the haters!" he just needs to have one game against maybe the worst defense in the NFL and put up 70 yards. The correct take is: he's been very disappointing up until last night and finally showed progress. That's it, that's all you need to say.Too many people are used to that internet debate culture of wanting to be right, or stick it to some person or group about minor opinions instead of having any kind of balanced, nuanced discussion.

October 27Oct 27 The handling of injuries needs to be addressed. Jurgens and Dickerson since last year, Barkley last night, rushing guys back from injury too soon and then they get injured in their first game back again. They all play through some level of injury but you have to not risk them having long-term issues that get worse. Sometimes just rest another week.

October 27Oct 27 2 minutes ago, RLC said:"disappointing" = getting open, but not getting targets. That narrative is way overused at this point. WRs are judged on production. You go through all 32 teams every week and you're going to find WRs open and not getting catches. This isn't a situation where Makai Lemon was wide open down the field for 50 yarders 5 times a game and was overthrown and if the QB just hit him he'd be getting 150 yards per game. What Lemon is going through happens across the league every week and every game ad infinitum. He's open no more than Darius Cooper is in each game.

I didn't know it was all gone by now. But yea there's no excuse now if he's healed
October 27Oct 27 Lemon is 2nd in WR targets behind Smith, granted he's played 1 more game than Wicks and a bunch of those were the pointless screens behind the LOS but still. As the season has progressed, he's had more targets that weren't just screens and some longer receptions. Considering the circumstances of this team Lemon is doing well for a rookie. The WR group may be the most encouraging group on offense.

October 27Oct 27 Lemon has been showing progress the last few weeks. Part of that is him getting more comfortable in the NFL, and part is the coaches finding better ways to use him. For a guy that missed almost all of camp, a slow ramp up isn’t shocking. People calling him a bust after weeks 1 and 2 were being idiots - no one can really be a bust in their first year. The progress is very encouraging. Same with Bell, who wasn’t supposed to start this year.

But they did draft him high and moved up for him. Getting paid a tier below Parsons, who was a game wrecker for all 4 years before getting paid. He's had one great year so far in his career. The rest is potential. I was just saying, if he doesn't turn it around by next year then this is who he is.
October 27Oct 27 My post wasn’t to suggest Carter is a bust, is "bad” per se or the worst thing about last night. The point more was to say he was paid as the highest DT and a premiere defensive player in the league and he should be held to a very high standard. He should be getting held on most plays, it shouldn’t be an excuse for him. It’s admirable he played through injury but he wasn’t injured last night and just looked checked out. We shouldn’t need Nakobe Dean or Jordan Davis to keep him in line and motivated at this point in his career. He was paid accordingly and needs to step his game up. He is starting to remind me more of Albert Haynesworth than the generational DT he’s supposed to be.His post game locker room antics last night was also embarrassing. I can’t ever see him being a Captain on this team.
October 27Oct 27 Lemon is a rookie who missed a lot of TC; not saying he;s a pro bowler in the making, but his progress upwards is evident across the games. Speaking of a rookie, Bell needs to lineup nearer to the Center. One official will consistently ping him for being too far back - something the coaches should be at him for anywy.

He's just easier to defend because of the injury but even then he should be showing more glimpses Davis on the other hand..

Glad he's progressing - but there's always the opportunity cost of not taking an OL in the 1st.

I can’t ever see him being a Captain on this team. He's immature and hasn't grown up. It's been assumed that Howie signed Davis to keep him here to hold Carter accountable. That's college behavior, need a buddy. In the NFL you have to grow up and be a man and handle yourself whether your friends are still on the team or not. Davis had a good year last year but this looks bad this year. You're right, Carter gets held and doubled but he was drafted to be a generational difference maker.
October 27Oct 27 Honestly - the whole defense basically laid down last night. Which is stunning - they were keeping an inept offense in games for weeks before getting exhausted in Q4 due to playing too many snaps. Last night it felt like no one wanted to be out there other than Q. Letting Dallas run all over them is embarrassing. This falls on Nick.

Scheme him open, jet sweep and fake jets, at least once every couple of games of not more. Make the defense play him. He can definitely help the offense.
