One name - a guy who has limited options and may be blackballed - is coaching the best defense in the NFL for an undefeated team. How do we feel about Brian Flores? I would love to see his defense with our players. No, needs to be an offensive head coach. I'm done with the days of losing a bright OC every time we get them. The system and QB combination is the backbone of every NFL team. We need to find the next elite offensive mind and pair them with a QB(whether it's Hurts or someone else and I strongly suspect it'll be someone else in round 1 either in 2027 or 2028). Flores just repeats the same Sirianni dilemma all over again.

Always prefer offensive minds in general, but he's a strong leader and he'll likely bring in top end OC candidates because they'll get full play calling ability, a good GM and what should be an elite defense. Easy pipeline to a HC gig.

Some have said it raises concerns for potential candidates to feel they have too short a leash. I think they've progressed through different things they've wanted in a HC.Reid brought winning and stability and was here the longest.Chip they took a gamble on the innovative choiceDoug they went back to Reid's tree and wanted someone to connect with the playersNick worked with Reich so that was a connection and they wanted a coach to set up the offenseThis year they hired Mannion from the outside to implement a new scheme. He may be a good OC eventually, he's been making some improvements and it's tough with the injury list he's working with. But my guess is they don't want to fire a HC so often. They want the next version of Andy Reid type: an offensive minded coach with a system to install and the ability to hire quality OCs and train them up, and support them if they're struggling. Nick seems to have no answers on offense. They are likely tired of changing coaches so often. If the OC is so good he gets hired as a HC, fine that happens. But they need stability and performance out of the offense not changing it up every year.Does Nick get another HC job if/when he’s fired?

You will get great games mixed in with terrible onesWhen your defense has 0 sacks and 0 QB hits your secondary is going to be left holding the blame. What really made me mad is that we let one of the better passers in the league sit back and pick us a part for pretty much the whole game. You can blame Riq but the problem was not getting any pressure.

All we heard was he was dominant in camp. Now he’s the DE version of Na Brown.it’s easier to say because he didn’t have the sacks that he wasn’t playing well. But I would argue he was actually getting good pressure. Not only that he left last night‘s game to go into the blue medical tent. So he re-injured himself trying to play in a game he should’ve been playing.

He has been up and down this year which is his history (more up than down). He is also here on a 1 year contract on a team going nowhere - it’s a no brainer to try and move him. I wouldn’t have that view if we were contending
October 27Oct 27 35 minutes ago, vikas83 said:Honestly - the whole defense basically laid down last night. Which is stunning - they were keeping an inept offense in games for weeks before getting exhausted in Q4 due to playing too many snaps. Last night it felt like no one wanted to be out there other than Q. Letting Dallas run all over them is embarrassing. This falls on Nick.I'd add Vic as well, but yes mostly Nick and coaching in general. They obviously aren't communicating the need for playing with effort and urgency enough. The only player I saw really playing with urgency was Mukuba when he would come up and make strong hits after the RB had already gotten 8+ yards. At least he was trying despite his size and skills, he was at least getting a hat in there. The rest of the team seemed too interested in molesting the runners trying to get the ball out than to actually F'n tackle.

I can’t really wrap my head around that. 3 each for JC and Nolan. 1 from Campbell and half each for JD and Trotter.Hunt has been an enormous disappointment. Greenard as well but hopefully that’s due to injury. Was pointing this out the last 2 weeks, while getting mocked. 😅Bottom in sacks. Bottom in quick pressure rate. Bottom in tackling. Bottom in turnovers. No playmakers on this defense.I remember people used to dismiss CJGJ and failed to look at that aspect of his game. Makuba can only do that in his wet dreams. Miss Dean. Miss Williams. Miss Blank. An average or below average safety which says a lot. But at least was a captain back there and kept them organized. Miss BG for babysitting this immature and low IQ group. Alot of missing ingredients here.
October 27Oct 27 If we fire Sirianni, I’d think Steichen would be the top choice for HC if the Colts fire him. Good playcaller, would probably bring Stoutland back and work well with him. Has gotten career years out of Hurts and Daniel Jones. Continuity with Hurts if Hurts is still here. Not gonna chase some fad that we don’t have the personnel for.

October 27Oct 27 1 minute ago, DEagle7 said:Hard disagree. Flores is a top tier DC. Siri doesn't excel at anything in particular.I mean dilemma with the offense. Defense until this season has not been an issue under Sirianni since Fangio got here. Their issues have long been offensive. You want to pair a franchise QB with an elite offensive mind that can't be plucked away and the only way to ensure that is if that mind is a head coach and not an OC.

I can't recall any blitzes last night and Dak has struggled against it the last few games.

Brian Flores should be on the top of their list.Wonder how they feel about Mannion. Sure, he has had his growing pains but they definitely showed improvment last night. I know some might mock it but I like that he took the initiative this past week to make everyone on O accountable in a group setting. The FO thought so highly of him when they brought him in so idk if they would try to keep in the building even with a coaching change.

Shows you what youth buys.Ojomo is going to fetch a lot more than people think. Not just youth, but years of control. A FA to be typically fetches less than a player with multiple years left on his contract. Plus, I think Howie really took Baltimore to the woodshed because teams don’t typically have a backup center they’re ready to start.
