September 14Sep 14 3 requests going forward with this offense because the defense should be fine especially when Greenard comes back.1) Integrate Brown/Moore in this offense. Particularly in the slot. Lemon should be brought along slowly. Did him a disservice throwing him to the wolves this quickly. And after repeated hammy issues.2) More Tank, less Shipley. Oy!! How many times are we gonna ask for this wrinkle?3) Sign Ertz. Goedert looks like prime Goedert still. Yes. He's underpaid and underrated. Will give them options with versatile looks, gives Goedert some snaps off, and becomes a major insurance policy if/when he goes down.

September 14Sep 14 I will add a 4th request. Howie needs another safety in here. Epps left the game with a shoulder injury. One safety short there. MC is nice to back up the Makuba role. Epps should be a 3rd/4th safety. It's clear as day. Need a starter type. Maybe by the trade deadline... and Elliott keeps his job for another week.

September 14Sep 14 If we were in week four, and this was still going on with the interior starting offensive line, I’d be with people on benching people. Last year they weren’t good cause they weren’t healthy. It was pretty obvious that neither Jurgens or Dickerson were remotely close to healthy. This year they haven’t played since January last season in an actual game. On top of that learning an entirely new blocking scheme and offensive scheme. then you sent them out there a week one with no preseason. The bears had a better offensive line at the end of the year than they did at the beginning of the year when they were implementing. Even thuney didn’t look like he did in KC early in the season for the Bears. Heck people questioned the trade. As the season went on, he got better. I think people need to resolve some patience and time to see what they are.Can I also say it’s absurd to me that people are using the preseason and training camp to justify that Kendall and Lampkin are just gonna automatically be good. They went against backups for the most part in the preseason (and it isn’t the same as a game in practices). And guys who are likely not even in the league anymore in part of those preseason games. If you think you’re gonna just throw them out there and they’re not gonna have growing pains cause they haven’t played a lot then I don’t know what you think. Because they’re likely going to have problems with them too because they haven’t played a lot of snaps at the NFL level and there’s a learning curve. you’re gonna have growing pains with them too. That’s the likely reality.I can’t believe I’m the one that has to tell people to be patient. It’s week one with guys learning an entirely new blocking scheme and scheme in general while not playing in a real game besides some controlled practices in 9 months. Give it some time.

I think it was more to do with the change in scheme and probably having to shoulder some of the blame for the run game last season.Good point, but Nick doesn't bring much is the bottom line. If I have to choose between possibly losing a very bright OC or Nick and go through the same thing next year at some point they need to let him go. All hypothetical.

They have improved that worst in the league record into one that has them in the Playoffs. My team are well enough, but that figures. Things just don't magically translate and its all good - the NFL showed this week across a number of teams

Unfortunately, as others have said, it often takes an 'injury' to swap a guy out but maybe they'll do it anyway.
September 14Sep 14 Author On the Shipley comments...Shipley was on the field for the long scramble by Hurts on third-and-long in the third quarter. After which, they went into up tempo without any substitutions - keeping the Commanders from being able to substitute. That's why Shipley was on the field. Why they handed him the ball twice, not sure.

They saw Dickerson in camp and joint practices. They will now watch the film of his performance. They got Bell in the 3rd round who they'll develop and could turn into a starting RT, or the new Fred Johnson reliable backup. Their backup plan for Dickerson is a 2nd year player drafted in the 5th round. And for Jurgens, a 5'11 2nd year player who was undrafted, waived and the Eagles signed him and then had him on IR all last season. They're also developing Micah Morris, a 6th round pick who you can't expect much from this season. So fans wanting change, we're just fans. The team has the responsibility to adequately address positions. If they felt comfortable with Kendall and Lampkin in case Dickerson or Jurgens can't go, then that's on them to determine if they are going to be good enough. In preseason against backups is all we as fans have to go on. Reporters who follow the team noted in their view they showed enough that they could be starters. The coaches see them in detail in practice, drills, meeting room, film study...they know if a player is ready or not.Last year everyone hated on Toth, he was terrible when they put him at OT. Then they put him in for Jurgens and he played well. Not enough to be a regular starter but having him was better than Jurgens with no back. They couldn't even run their 92% success rate play tush push because of the interior line. But putting in a backup who was healthy was a better choice.Dickerson looks cooked. And it's not rust or lack of preseason. His body is done. If he can't get it together, then Nick needs to do the right thing and sit him. He was personally responsible for many blown plays...plays that others will criticize Hurts, Barkley, Lemon or others but they had no chance with bad blocking.

But he's a rookie at the EOD. This WR group is deeper than past years. And Mannion likes to use 5 guys. At least in GB he did. Hurts has solid chemistry with Moore and Cooper. And even Brown towards the end of camp.2) Tank is a fierce runner and brings that juice and physicality. For 5-10 snaps, I will put up with the weaknesses mentioned. Think he can wear down teams in 2nd half especially.3) Understand Mundt is is here for his blocking role, but he is a non factor in the passing game and if Goedert gets hurt, we pretty much have nobody to fill in. Ertz can have a role here, I'm pretty sure.

It looked like a potential read option on the left side (Hunt's right) He jumped out there so quickly he cut off Daniels' running room, but was also perfectly in the passing lane to the guy in the flat that people say we forgot to cover. At the time Daniels had him as an option, he was covered. hunt forced him to progress to the shovel pass option which obviously was stopped by great plays from Carter and Ojomo.Amazing! That was an entirely different offense and blocking scheme. It does not matter. They were hurt last year. We knew that. Their struggles today it may be health related or decline, but I don’t know yet because it is week one.I don’t think you guys understand how hard it is to go from not playing a game since beginning of January last year. The team implementing an entirely new offense. The team getting rid of its offensive line coach. The team implementing a whole new blocking scheme for those guys. And then acting like there’s not gonna be growing pains. What reality do people live in? I made the point the bears had the similar issues that the Eagles did early. Very similar issues.as to backups, neither one of those guys (Lampkin and Kendal) has high level of NFL snaps. Specifically in this offense or blocking scheme. So I’m guessing they’re gonna go out there and they’re not gonna be up to the standard either. We are just assuming they’re not gonna have growing pains? That’s laughable. Because if they were so good that when they benched guys for that commanders game at the end of last year, they should’ve looked better and they really didn’t for large portions of the game. But because they did well in the preseason and practicing against backup players and guys who no longer in the NFL that means they’re obviously gonna be good. And they’re just gonna hit the ground running in our offensive lines gonna look great. I hate to break it to some of you theirs is highly likely gonna be growing pains with them too and it’s gonna be clunky for a bit because it’s gonna take some time.So I find it really far-fetched that everybody on here seems to think that these backups are not gonna have growing pains and have their own struggles. It’s going to take time. Whether it’s Dickerson or Jurgens or Lampkin or anybody, you wanna throw out there.Let me also say Lane Johnson didn’t play like lane Johnson if yester years yesterday either. If you go back and watch that game, he wasn’t nearly as dominant. It’s likely because he’s learning a new scheme and it’s going to take time for him to get comfortable with it. That’s called growing pains. Now Dickerson and Jurgens might just be done physically. That might be the case. However, I’m not gonna make a definitive of all that because of last year and week one where they’re implementing an entire new offense and they haven’t played a real game since Fing January that they struggled mightily and didn’t look good. Especially when pretty much the entire ofrendife line including lane and steen didn’t exactly hit out of the park either
September 14Sep 14 All you can do is go by the profile of these interior backups. They all seem athletic with good lateral mobility. And should be a good fit to play this scheme. They will have their growing pains. But LD is unplayable. He was unplayable by Superbowl 2024. Been a year and a half of bad play. And he just breaks down. Has had multiple surgeries since college. He would limp out of games even in his prime. You could see this coming. He's absolutely cooked.
