When guy have to step in on the fly and seeing guys improve each week. I think we will have a clearer answer by years end on where he and the oline is. He’s never going to be stoutland. Don’t need him to be just be solid.Yesterday was better than I expected. We have talked and agreed it would take multiple weeks to see where they are. Hurts did the run to the outside thing a few times, but also looked more comfortable. He spoke highly of the OC unlike last year and we saw some good things. Dickerson is the only real concern I have right now.

You're arguing points to me I've been also making for a long time about growing pains with the new offense.I'm not saying bench Dickerson now, but I'm saying his performance is different than rust and lack of preseason. Going back to last year his health was an issue. In the offseason there was talk of him retiring! He reworked his contract. This isn't giving up on a player too early because of production or growth. This is a continuation of his health problems. He had a lengthy injury history coming out of college when he was drafted, it was always a concern. If any player is unable to play because of injury and they are a liability, then the coaches need to bench them. Dickerson is a talented player, smart and it's not his talent. For example Cooper DeJean had a bad game but we know that's unusual and he'll be fine. And when a player is injured and can't perform, it's next man up. It's not fans job to get quality backups, that's Howie and the coaches. If Dickerson's issues aren't health and he just needed to adjust, great. But his injury problems and health have been an ongoing concern for a while now. If the backups aren't ready to go and haven't had enough experience, that's on the team for not preparing better. Last year both Jurgens and Dickerson were struggling and then later it came out how they basically toughed it out for the Super Bowl. Having to go to get experimental treatments in Costa Rica or whatever they did. The team knows that stuff. It's not like a surprise or shock. They needed to prepare better. If they think Kendall is a solid backup and can start if needed for injury, great. They should know.I certainly hope Dickerson can recover, he's been great. But if he simply can't play because of injury then like any player he needs to sit and rest and recover. He thought about retirement, and this is likely his last season unless something changes. If this is the case, then what the hell is Howie and company looking at all training camp. There's no way he could have looked good all summer going against our DT's and now he just completely sucks. This would be a blatant, complete and incompetent fail on Howies part if Landon is shot. He had all summer to see and fix this and did nothing, zilch f'n nada.

Early and no scheme. I think with Dickerson, you know he’s physically not where he was 2-3 years ago. Just hope as he gets more confident and comfortable in the scheme, he shows improvement. If we get to that week 4 rams game and he’s at the same spot i think you make the change then.

And week 1 is quirky, so they still may be that. But I think the impact of Donald and Garett together, at their age, is potentially ferociously overhyped. And another year on Stafford isn't helping. The defending champs are going to have major QB and offense issues. The Eagles aren't that good. Sorry guys. They aren't. But they are a veteran team that knows how to find ways to gut out wins on the biggest stages under the most pressure. (I'm talking about the Eagles but might as well be singling out Hurts with that exact assessment). And this could be one of those seasons where a not-that-good team led by a not-that-good franchise QB that just knows how to win steals a Superbowl because the rest of the league is asleep. See Kansas City Chiefs in 2023 or New England Patriots in 2018.Aren't good at all or aren't good enough to make a deep run?
September 14Sep 14 Rewatching the gameDickerson needs to be replaced. Immediately. The Commanders did blitz a lot. Like a lot a lot. Doubt they’ll see that many blitzes for most of the rest of the season. That’s a good learning experience for the new offense I guess.Lemon had a couple key blocks that I didn’t notice the first time. Both times springing Jalen for key pickups. He was also set up for complete failure on those screens. Can we get the guy a real route to run?Mann might be the best punter in the leagueThere were a few nice plays that I think were supposed to go to Devonta but the line didn’t give any time at all to finish the route. One was when Sonny came through and destroyed Saquon. Devonta was open a couple of other times that Hurts was under fire as wellWicks saw a lot of single coverage and was open A LOT

I think he sucks, but he's probably better matching up in situations where he doesn't have to think as much. From what was reported he still didn't do well, so who knows. Howie should have had better alternatives past a 2nd year surprise.

Expected much more yesterday due to that hype.I've seen enough summers by now to know that summer hype is pretty meaningless, otherwise Darius Cooper, Drew Kendall, and Hunt would already be collecting pro-bowl votes. At least Hunt has done enough on the field in an ascending fashion that hype makes sense for him.

You just spent all offseason saying this this offense would miss AJ Brown and would be worse. And now you slip this post in there. You are all over the place my friend. And 2023, the Chiefs had a Goat at QB. But this guy is not so good and will win anyway. You are outta your mind and hard to follow.

Not an ideal measuring stick.

Yes and yes.Lemon just has to match Dotson, who was not much involved here. He's a JAG and Brown/Cooper/Moore are gonna enter this equation before it's over. This is a deeper group and not a 2 man show. 2025 Brown was a failure by the end of the 49er game. His hands, which was his main forte at that point were terrible. Athleticism GONE!!Also, dont think we will miss a guy who quits on his team, literally after Week 4, in defense of a Superbowl championship. He's toxic as they come. He steered his way to the Patriots and will realize that he misses Hurts and Devanta. They don't miss him at all! LOL Not even a lil bit.

To his credit, he looked a lot trimmer yesterday and we can only observe to what extent he's done or just working to get into game shape after a managed TC. I wouldn't be massively shocked if he retired at the Bye Week, just because its not fun anymore. The level of practice he does will show how he's really doingWith Stoutland's scheme the line just needed to maintain blocks in front and move vertically upfield, he didn't need to move laterally very much so his gimpy knees weren't as much of an issue.Outside zone is all lateral mobility and he just doesn't have it any more (arguably he never did), his injuries in college meant he was always on borrowed time and the move to a scheme that doesn't suit him on top of that means the end has come sooner than it may have had we done another year of Stout. As I keep saying I just hope they don't watch Dickerson and Jürgens struggle all year again like they did last year.
