I'm not really worried about the offense against the Bears defense. More intrigued at it's potential growth, even with the likelihood of having a couple players out.

I am worried though about the defense against the Bears defense. More specifically the run defense. They shredded us on the ground last year in Philadelphia. It was by far the worst the defense has looked during the Fangio era. The run defense is certainly looking like it is legitimately bad two games into this season. Even with Keenum I can see a scenario where the Bears have 200+ yards of rushing again.

I didn't know both defenses could be on the field at the same time. Go ahead and finish getting clapped up by your bf and go to sleep

And Howie didn't add anything solid at guard even with one breaking down.

Sounds like he likes the guys that are on the roster for right now. I don't think he'll ignore it

Nelson might be. Makes the most sense. FA after the season and the Colts look terrible

Ah, fifth grade math. Isn’t it amazing how much we still use it in our lives.

6-0 Week 1 Openers

6-0 Road Openers

Amazing run.

These stats are so dumb and have no context. 2025 road opener, 116 yards of total offense and 1 total TD.

The pipe dream is Nelson from the Colts. But I think the point was to save money to sign secondary. I think Howie will make minor moves for a while longer and see if a bigger move is available later. Bates does seem to make sense

For me I like discussing moves they could make now but I find it whiny to rehash who they could have picked or signed in the past. That’s just my preference.

Yup. Not every decision will work out. They are made with imperfect information and supplemented with assumptions. The FO also knows much more than we do and have to balance 'win immediately' with their long-term plan. I am willing to accept misses as long as their decision making process remains coherent.

For instance, the lack of investment in the OL over the past four drafts (only Steen and Bell taken in third round) looks like a departure from their "build through the lines" approach. Taking McNeil-Warren over Stowers in April would still be an issue for me.

I'm not sure if I started the Nelson dream or not, but it's not unrealistic if the bottom falls out on the Colts.

Nelson will get a good contract, but at 31 (in free agency), it's going to be somewhat conservative. A 2028 4th sounds comp pick about right. A trade needs to beat that by at least one round. (In the Jaelan Phillips example, it was likely a 3 for a 3). But the Eagles picked up the rental and the Dolphins got their 3 one year sooner (and the certainty versus seeing what you get awarded). Nelson has a lot more attachment to the Colts, so that may make the price richer. But a 2027 3rd for a rental on what likely turns into a compensatory 2028 4th...that's a good deal for both teams. Colts just need to suffer the insult of trading away a franchise great mid season for an unspectacular pick.

Howie's deadline deals usually disappoint. He knows this. He's not going to unload a 2nd at the deadline. But he's not going to shy away from dealing a 3 as he always does.

The giant horse fly in the soup? We don't have a 2027 3rd round pick. They are quite light in draft capital heading into 2027 and Howie may not have the usual ammunition at the deadline.

Good breakdown of Hurts's elite QB play in the last 2 minutes here.

They will never, as a Lurie/Howie run franchise, de-emphasize the OL. They emphasized it to such an extreme that they had 4/5 of the starting OL on high end non-rookie contract extensions during the season. Last year (prior to this offseason), they had 0 defensive linemen and one player in the entire defensive front 7 on premium contracts. (And that one player was Zach Baun, who had a smaller contract than all 4 extended OL).

They got stuck with this OL. I wanted an OL over our first 1 picks in 2026 too...but my guess is they felt stuck with their current investments.

What's the point of posting in the blog if we have total faith in the Eagles' flawless decision making?

If the Eagles had 21 pro-bowlers and an average-to-problematic safety as their 22nd starter, I'd be here to post about how they could and should get more out of that position. Wouldn't make me enjoy the team any less. I enjoy dissecting problems. Me posting about it seems to make you guys enjoy the team less though.

Fan moderation. You see it on facebook and reddit too

We’ll learn a good bit about the vibes of this season when Ertz and Moore play. Are they Shaq Leonard/Jaire Alexander or Suh/Linval Joseph?

Vibes as of now are pretty down good, dare I say inching on ‘22.

I'm happy he didn't try that to Carter because I don't think that would have gone well for him lol and I think Carter would have reacted badly and get ejected

So thanks for doing that to Davis roll

They don't own their own, but they fully expect to get a comp 3rd for losing Phillips. Granted that would be at the end of the round and would be basically equivalent of an early 4th. But still...

Maybe the damage was already done and it didn’t matter, but that was such a bad look by the Giants medical staff last night letting Dart walk around on the sideline after getting hurt. And then that news drops today that it might be season ending.

I don’t know about terrible. They just played a great game vs the chiefs.

At this point, we just need to hope and pray that Dickerson comes back healthy.

The 2k season for Saquon did more damage to our oline than anything. They still haven’t recovered. Crazy

That's why assessing Lemon right now is foolish. The stat nerds are gonna strike. Was looking at Lemon a lot on different TV replays and could see he was quite open. Yes. And dump the bubble screens. A waste!

He was open a lot underneath but right now his ADOT is about 0-5 yards. One one of the rare plays that he actually ran a route down the field he caught a pass for a 3rd down. They just need to start using him a little bit differently and people also need to realize that he is a rookie basically having his training camp right now. It's amazing how quickly people forget that Coop missed a bunch of time in training camp and barely got on the field for a few weeks because he had to get up to speed with things.

He deserves to be. Even in that heat he was noticeable. It's not that I don't like Davis, but I think Moro is the better player.

Davis is a true DT that plays a lot of NT and Moro plays more 3/4 DE than anything else.

Was thinking the same. Carter would have eaten some of his fingers

He was great in a different scheme, with a different OL coach. He was horrendous last year, on par with Dickerson at best.

Dickerson is cooked. He needs to retire before he puts himself in a wheelchair

You mention "Context" while ignoring this was the same road opener in KC, Who are damn near impossible to beat in arrowhead coming off blowing them out in the Super Bowl and walking out with a Win the very next year. Patrick had 187 passing the same game. He got the W, end of story. Just like on this Sunday.
