His ranking is rage bait. That should be obvious

I was thinking the same thing. I used to consider The Athletic above that sort of thing, but apparently not. All they did with this ranking is tell me not to trust them as a source for serious football acumen

JP cost a 3rd last year, netted us a 2027 3rd as a comp pick when he walked. Try and play a similar game if we can't resign him.

My issue with this strategy of, essentially, deferred draft compensation in exchange for a year of a high end veteran is that we need to simultaneously get younger/healthier on the interior of the OL while also increasing the starting talent level.

Nelson does the latter, but not the former, so the Eagles would be right back in the same situation they are today but with fewer draft resources to address the issue.

And it’s not like the roster is as flawless as it was in 2024 either — we are going to need to fill a LOT of holes this offseason.

Um, no. Shipley has gotten more snaps because he's earned them. Clearly a better receiver and pass protector and his runs have been every bit as effective as Tank's. What will make the run game more effective is better blocking.

Shipley gets more snaps as a result of being the third down back. If we convert a third down while crossing midfield, the offense regularly goes into tempo. They don't substitute and line up quickly at the LOS. This puts pressure on the defense. So Shipley will get a handful of snaps on 1st and 2nd down as a result.

Schefter said the meniscus is the most serious recovery time aspect of the surgery.

Yeah. Because they didn't necessarily have to fix the PCL but it makes no sense that they weren't sure about surgery in that case.

Fangio said that Greenard isn't fully ready yet with conditioning and still needs catching up to do so if he plays he's expected to be on a snaps limit for a while. Meanwhile Jaelen Phillips is off to a good start in Carolina because Howie refuses to sign guys midseason.

Who was it that got all butt hurt for Howie to stop doing that a few years back?

I’d say this is being a stat nerd. His ranking is based off some stat he made up that is supposed to remove skill player, o-line and scheme and just focus on individual QB play. With that said, it’s obviously a flawed stat with whatever the hell he created.

No argument from me.

Shipley has been looking like a competent NFL player this year. I had to retract every bit of slander i ever said about him prior to last game during the game. Hopefully that continues, i def have no reservations when i see him come in on 3rd downs now. He’s actually being utilized and been effective when asked as well.

I want to see Lemon on the outside.

Come full circle and give Goedert another in season extension next week

Mannion is going to need to bring his creativity on 1st down. Utilize Hurts's running ability along with Hollywood reverses and sweeps. And I like Ertz getting small chunks on 1st down with his short hybrid slant/dig route. More of those and ditch the screen action. That's like fitting a square peg into a round hole. Awful and not playing into Hurts's and OL's strengths right now.

They need to go uptempo sooner and dictate on earlier downs with unpredictability. I think that's where this is heading. It's just that the OL is behind the eight ball, it's been choppy and hard to gain the rhythm needed. This is an exciting start so far of what could be. Mannion needs to keep the foot on the gas and stay aggressive. #1 is certainly engaged. I like the role of Hurts playing point guard and spreading the ball everywhere to many guys. That last TD pass to Cooper was very basketball like.

Time to trade one of our backup QBs to the Giants? Or do the Giants stick with Winston

The New York Giants won't have Jaxson Dart for the remainder of the season after he suffered a knee injury in Monday's 28-6 loss to the Los Angeles Rams.

Eagles practice squad getting poached again. Howie's UDFA's are getting jobs. Worry about losing Majors soon enough.

So Gush is good enough to play for the Colts and now Pulley to the Rams. I kinda hate how we are wasting spots on 3 mediocre backup QBs, Jenkins at TE who is 27 and has had no issues on being poached on a practice squad for many years now. Probably should have PUP'd Greenard at this point. And have 7 WRs. Could have started with Rocco on PS. This part of Howie's game is off right now. Losing nice developmental guys. And didn't like losing Cameron Williams.

Tbh the only interest they may have in Dalton is if they decide to tank for a high pick.

I doubt those guys will be anything but yeah their roster construction has been odd this year

I guess we have different definitions and ideas of what a stat nerd would be. Jones isn't in the top 10 of TDs, passing yards, comp%, or yards/game. I went down the list and even rushing stats. He's tied with as bunch of QBs for 3rd most picks thrown so far. That's it

His list was to trigger people and it obviously worked

I've always been been high on Ship. Loved his play in college at Clemson. Hopefully he continues to get more reps on game day.

Would be ok with him out there on the 1st or 2nd drive of a game, maybe that would get the opposing D to think a bit and say "Uhhh, where is Saquon? We prepared for him. What do we now do??!!" LOL groovy
