EMB Blog: 2026 Regular Season (Part 1)

He was great in a different scheme, with a different OL coach. He was horrendous last year, on par with Dickerson at best.

I kind of mentioned the same thing you did yesterday. He had success in a different blocking scheme and Stoutland coaching him. The two things not here anymore. If you watch the Chargers last year, he was atrocious (games he played. missed 1-2 games or left early from another). Leanmean and I talked about this during the season last year. based off his contract, he was extremely likely to get cut at the end of the year because of how bad he was and off the field issues. Most surprising about this was his run blocking. It was atrocious after a year where it was excellent.

I think that was supposed to be a trap play but #9 tried to block Donald and messed up the timing. I don’t think it was #65’s fault.

I agree..

What's the point of posting in the blog if we have total faith in the Eagles' flawless decision making?

If the Eagles had 21 pro-bowlers and an average-to-problematic safety as their 22nd starter, I'd be here to post about how they could and should get more out of that position. Wouldn't make me enjoy the team any less. I enjoy dissecting problems. Me posting about it seems to make you guys enjoy the team less though.

It’s not discussing and dissecting issues that are the problem. It’s the times when people go Charlie Day trying to figure out who Pepe Silvia. There’s a difference between discussing reality and spinning a bizarro world/alternate universe or being unreasonable forgetting there’s 28 other teams competing to put together the best roster they can as well. Not saying you’re one who does this FYI. Just a broad statement.

He’s such an afterthought in the scheme other than those terrible screens. I did see him stack a corner on a go route when lined up out wide. That’s promising.

I don't think he's running just clear out routes. He had a few dig routes where it looked like he was open. He also had the route out of the backfield where Jalen should have thrown it to him. He could be a target for some of those throws depending on the read. Part of it is trust and Jalen looking to Wicks. His catch, though, was great. It's hard to justify giving him targets over Wicks and even Cooper at this point. That's not a knock on him. It's just that both Wicks and Cooper are playing well.

Yes it’s been 2 games with no camp. People talk about giving a pick 3 years but they make ‘bust’ judgement in 2 games

The slurring lisp from Fran when he talks is getting unlistenable.

Instead of debating the virtues of Lemon, let's cheer for the acquisition of Wicks.

Looks like we traded a 5th and 6th round pick for a solid #2 WR on the fourth year of his rookie deal.

If I'm the Bears, I'm rushing four and dropping 7 all game long. Make the Eagles run the ball, make them throw into coverage and bet that the 4 man rush will get home.

On offense I'm running at the edges over and over and over and controlling the clock.

You find it too sexy?

This may be a good game for Fangio to roll out a base scheme with Trotter as a LB. The team has to fix the running game. I would like them to bring in a 6th O linemen and maybe use Mundt in a FB role.

Ok - but game 3 is my limit.

Some talk about the Cardinals maybe trading Harrison Jr this year. What is the most you'd give up for him?

He was a stud in college but I gotta admit he's looked pretty bad in the NFL. Not just lack of explosiveness but looks like a total loser. Quitting on plays, etc. I don't think I'd be interested. I'd be more interested in a guy like Brian Thomas Jr than him if Howie looks to continue to bolster that WR room with young talent.

I'm not sure I'd give up anything. Lemon is open and not getting looks. I'd focus on TE, S, or OL.

Gargano is shockingly bad as well.

After signing Ertz and Moore, I'm thinking the next priority is OG veteran depth. But, I don't expect any miracles, just a healthy body and a good fit. If Jurgens fails, would move Steen to LG. At RG, can try Lampkin first. Then Majors after, if need be.

I'd give them a 7th rounder and Danny Gray.

What score prediction does that scenario prediction produce?

That’s a prospect I was very wrong about. Thought he was a lock to be a stud like Julio Jones or AJ Green.

If I were WR desperate, I’d give up a 2nd and then maybe like a conditional 4/5.

The Eagles just drafted a WR round 1, have a legit WR 1, and it looks like Wicks is a legit 2 so I wouldn’t give up anything unless Smith or Wicks gets hurt.

I’m not interested in WR at all. The OL is the issue.

I love this reply from her

Translated: I have nothing but want to seem like I still have inside sources so when something happens down the line I'll "circle back" and take credit

The OL still has hope.
