I doubt those guys will be anything but yeah their roster construction has been odd this year

We don't know if they'll be anything. But to throw away roster spots like this is not the Howie we know. It's strange. On top of it, they are raiding our supposed weakest position on the roster at safety. Very ironic. Next up. Cole Wisniewski...

Eagles practice squad getting poached again. Howie's UDFA's are getting jobs. Worry about losing Majors soon enough.

Gives SM a week and a half to pick his brain on the Eagles D

First, I blame Joe Douglas. That guy is bad juju. Second, a certain TE on the Patriots would look a lot better than Jenkins who half of us probably forget is on the team. I love Howie but I think pride is also part of the reason we have 4 QBs. He doesn't want to admit Dalton was a mistake or he couldn't get a high pick for McKee. Keeping the latter is the right move, but Dalton sucks.

Any updates on Saquon injury? He good to go I’m assuming

Fangio said that Greenard isn't fully ready yet with conditioning and still needs catching up to do so if he plays he's expected to be on a snaps limit for a while. Meanwhile Jaelen Phillips is off to a good start in Carolina because Howie refuses to sign guys midseason.

Jaelan Phillips wasn't good enough anyway. He disappeared immediately

He traded a late 7th rounder for Dalton. Worthless. I would have likely saved 2 roster spots by waiving him and putting Payton on PS. But that's just me. We are in trouble, if either if those 2 guys play anyway. You can pick up that kind of shiddy quality later if injury arises. I rather keep that spot open, even, til something better comes along.

Reminder when Gush and Pulley played in the preseason the secondary got torched. I can’t say I watched the games back to analyze. Gush looked fast on ST. But yeah with pulley at least I suspect they could have kept him if they wanted to. I don’t get the feeling that Gush was the 54th guy either but who knows. And I’m not sure why they kept Jenkins over Latu but I’d be a little surprised if he’s here all season anyway

This led me down a quick rabbit hole just now to see if DeSean Jackson is still a head coach in college. He is. So I looked up his record last year and was very surprised to see it was 8-4. Then I looked up their past seasons to see if that was around what they usually do but no.

Desean Jackson as HC

2025 8-4

Lee Hull as HC (2-21)

2024 1-11

2023 1-10

Rod Milstead as HC (17-33)

2022 5-6

2021 5-6

2020 2-

2019 2-10

2018 3-8

You get the point. Even more so, the last time they had a winning season before DeSean Jackson coached them to 8-4 last year was in 2007 when they went 10-2 and lose in the 1st round of the FCS playoffs.

DeSean really turned them around from being historically bad for nearly 2 full decades. Looks like they are 2-2 so far this season but I'd like to see him put up another winning season.

I thought the bottom of the roster was as bad as it’s been in some time and teams are pillaging us for them. Incredible.

I guess we have different definitions and ideas of what a stat nerd would be. Jones isn't in the top 10 of TDs, passing yards, comp%, or yards/game. I went down the list and even rushing stats. He's tied with as bunch of QBs for 3rd most picks thrown so far. That's it

His list was to trigger people and it obviously worked

yea but again he’s using a stat he made up, not traditional stats. The number next to each QB is their total score based off whatever dumb formula he created. I don’t think he is rage baiting by making up a ranking and making up a score for each QB. I think his formula sucks and gives out wonky results. It’s probably based off advanced analytics or something else stupid stat nerds use.

I don’t know what Howie is doing. Seems off. I doubt it has much impact but seems off

The fact that he has a bunch of em dashes makes me think he just used AI to create the model. This is his explanation of it.

What is QBI?

QBI is a forward-looking quarterback efficiency metric that uses play-by-play data, adjusts for context in each play and is opponent-aware. Put more simply, QBI takes into account passes, rushes, scrambles, sacks, turnovers and anything else that happens when the football is in the quarterback’s hands.

But it goes a step deeper and adjusts for whether the quarterback was pressured, if that pressure was quick (less than 2.5 seconds), as well as the quality of the offensive line and receivers. QBI factors in fumbles in an attempt to take the luck out of recoveries — this can work for and against a quarterback depending on who recovered. QBI also takes into account drops by receivers, as well as yards after the catch and uses an expected YAC model to assign or remove credit from the quarterback. Of course, EPA and success rate are factors in the model, as well. There is still value in knowing that a 12-yard completion on third-and-20 is not as valuable as a 10-yard completion on third-and-10.

Another area I wanted to incorporate in QBI was the combination of analytics and film. The best way to accurately account for what’s happening on the field is a marriage of the two — not one or the other — and that’s where PFF grades are helpful. There are things that happen in football that analytics can’t account for. While this might surprise you, I am happy to admit that. The last thing to know before you examine the QBI standings from 2025 is my scale of measurement. I’ve taken a page from baseball’s analytics handbook and am using 100 as "average,” similar to baseball’s weighted runs created plus (wRC+) statistic. This means you can expect a QBI of 100 to be average, 101 to be starter-level, 124 to be Pro Bowl-caliber and 133 to be considered an All-Pro.

Tbh the only interest they may have in Dalton is if they decide to tank for a high pick.

They should try to lose every game this season.

The biggest importance of controlling the pace of the game is to salt away the clock when you have a lead. Last year we had one gear. Showing that we can put together 14+ play clock killing drives is very impressive and massive for closing out games. I think the 2min drill to win the game showed we can put points up in a hurry. They just need to put it all together. Build a lead and then melt the clock in the fourth.

It also be highly important against teams that can score tons of points as we can keep their offense off the field. If you can control the clock, you don't need to outscore them, just limit their possessions and be more efficient. (See the Giants win over the Cowgirls)

I might have missed the tweet as well. Barkley good for Monday?

Give Barkley the week off. It's a long season and he would then be coming off a short week to go against Aaron Donald.

So it’s an AI stat based off EPA, Success Rate and (lol) PFF. Certified stat nerd.

Random question that just popped into my brain: starting today, what's the minimum Hurts needs to make the HOF?

IMO if he wins either an MVP or another SB, he's a lock.

If he gets to another SB, he'll probably make it.

Anything less and it gets murky IMO

Obviously a guy like Desean Jackson recruiting is going to get better recruits. That has to be the difference
