September 24Sep 24 This team so far is winning with smoke and mirrors. A lot like in 23, when the consensus was it was unsustainable. Hopefully this changes.

Lot of moving parts and still scoring 24 points a game and leaving a lot out there on the field. Can only see this going up. In all phases. Remember year 1 of Fangio new install? Didn't know what we had til 2nd half of the year. Similar situation. Pretty drastic change being undergone here.Safety is a big concern that has been talked about here for months. Epps and Mukuba are both small and so far neither can tackle worth damn. That has nothing to do with scheme. They can't/won't tackle. Nobody wanted Epps in FA. He eventually signed a 1.3 M contract after so many weeks on the market and we can see why. At this point I am all for Carter starting. He can't be worse than Epps. and Mukuba needs to pick up his game by 100%. He wasn't drafted in the second round to be a JAG.
September 24Sep 24 Here's an example of the Eagles showing the screen action to one side but the play goes to the other.Shipley has gone in motion and there are four defenders covering the screen action. On the other side, Lemon is the Z and Smith is in the slot. Lemon runs a clearout and Smith squares out.Note that only two DBs are to that side of the field and the safety is shading toward the screen action. The DB is well off Smith so this is an easy pitch and catch and the screen action has influenced the defense. Nice play call.

We’ll find out more each week
September 24Sep 24 Bleacher Report is generally trash, but is Bates still any good? I honestly haven't seen a second of the Falcons this year (guess that changes tonight).

We all came into the season thinking the running game and defense would carry us - well, the running game is atrocious. The defense is good, not great. But somehow the passing game looks very solid. I have faith the defense will improve (has every year with Vic), but the OL and running game are my biggest concerns.

But figured it will take time to play out and Fangio will not make it a HUGE issue by end of season. If Kenny Moore can be CJGJ, I'm happy. Ballhawk type who makes plays, but he is a better tackler...if he still has anything left in the tank. 🤞 Will see if he can transition to Safety as well. Think Carter and Moore both come into this equation this season.
September 24Sep 24 I like where the offense is. From everything we've heard is this is a very different offense than what they've been running the past several years. Its gonna take some time, but we're seeing actual thought put into the plays and play calling. I believe it will build as the players get more comfortable and Mannion opens it up more.
September 24Sep 24 I love this one. Mundt takes Cedric Gray #33 for quite a ride. The Eagles line up Jenkins and Mundt both the offensive left side.Mundt crosses behind Jenkins, who blocks Johnson #11.Gray moves to fill the gap. as Mundt clears Jenkins' block.Mundt makes contact. Mailata has Elliott #95 on skis.Tank is in the hole, such as it is, and gets carried along by Mailata and Mundt....and carried.... and carried....and carried. That's how a TE should block!

Hopefully this changes. They weren’t winning that well early in ‘22 or ‘24 either….but that changed soon enough. In ‘23 and ‘25 they won in a concerningly unsustainable fashion all year long…and it caught up to them in the end.Hard to say this year. There is the overflowing assumption that things will reliably and linearly (if not exponentially) just improve as everyone settles into the new offense. Another variable is that the opposing defenses can only get better than the bottom of the barrel slop that has contested this offense so far. So one upward vector, one downward vector.Bottom line is that it’s impossible to know who they really are so far.

Whether it be Carson Wentz shredding his knee (Foles takeover), a snow filled playoff game or a last second FG block walkoff TD. Expect more of the same.

The team won't have much chance to do anything beyond snagging a last wild card spot unless we can get something going with the run game. Just a nice solid mediocre level would be enough behind this D assuming the D comes on as we all expect it to as the year progresses.
September 24Sep 24 Tank's TD. Once again the double TE on the offensive left, Jenkins with Mundt on the wing.Looks like there might be crease for Tank.It looks like Gray #33 is in the hole but Mundt hits him from the side....and Tanks squirts through for the TD.
